The hitch hikers guide the galaxy is comming out in may.The home page

This is one of my favorite books and i sugest you read it. it great
riotboy555
what is this guide about, besides the galaxy?
cor_raven
the movie is about how the earth is demolished to make way for a hyper space bypass. Its mainly a comedy. what happens is that we find out that the earth was in fact a giant computer. and that dolphins were smarter than humans and they escaped the planet before it xploded.

It's one of my favourite books too - actually, no, it IS my favourite book. I can't wait to see the movie! By the way, what do you think of who they cast? I personally don't care but some people are really against the casting choices.

Wow...it looks like it will be better than the TV series(even though that is always going to be the best as it was first)

Will have to put that in my diary...and remember...the answer is 42

DON"T PANIC

To Riotboy- The guide is about everything in the universe that matters to a hitchhiker. The best places to stay for cheap, The best hangouts, bars and resorts, and how to avoid getting killed five thousand different ways. And how to get to the resturant at the end of the universe.

AND DON"T FORGET YOUR TOWEL!!!
What's the point of life?

I haven't read the book or seen any of the films based on it but my dad is a fan and it sounds pretty cool so I am sure I will see it, either at the cinema or renting it.

Indeed it does look like it will make a good movie. Its like the only major sci-fi book that I dont have and now I shall go and get it before the movie comes out so I can enjoy both!

I have the "Trilogy" leather-bound and gilt edged. I've read it fifty times since my teen years. I'm looking forward to the movie as well, though I never picture Marvin being so short! And I'm wondering why no-one has 2 heads in the trailers I've seen.

i saw the movie earlier tonite. it was hilarious. very very funny movie right there, with some good special effects and fantastic adventure. ive never read the book, but i still really enjoyed this movie. i was suprised at how much i liked it. anyways, i reccomend you go see it if you havent already.

I saw the movie on Saturday and thought it was very entertaining and fun. Just a groovy little joy ride of a movie, with some really neat ideas. I've never read the books before, but was still able to follow everything well I thought.

Sam Rockwell was hilarious as Zaphod---he sort of channeled George W. and Elvis.
jeceris
apparently the papers say it was the no.1 movie in north america this weekend grossing over 21million.
i saw it saturday, and i got to say i was a little disapointed.
but then i'm a huge fan of the books and maybe i was expecting too much.
the actors were good, and there were some references to the original tv series, like when they get to magarethnon(sp) the holigram that comes up, is the actor who played arthur in the tv series, and when they're in line at the vogon place filling out forms, the robot in line is the original "marvin", little things like that were cool, but i guess i was expecting more.
good effort, but then i knew it would be hard to convert the novel to film.

How was Martin Freeman in it?
