I am mostly amazed at how many Americans are against America!!!!

That is truly the saddest thing!  For example... a lot of Americans on UM.

Not to be a big meanie.. but I really wish all the American's that hate America so much would just move to another country..... chances are.. they won't be happy there either!  wink2.gif

For I am PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN!!!  I am truly blessed to have been born here!  thumbsup.gif

Very true system of a up thumbsup.gif They dislike their own country(most that come here),so they come to get away from all that, which is quite pathetic really. One thing,Canada does have good leaders and stuff, but some laws need to be more strict.I mean, the other day, some guy hit a kid(with a car)in a school zone(he was speeding),and all he got was like 8 months in jail, and Canada should follow the US in the way of limiting foreign people coming into the country.I mean, sometimes it's good, but there are actually more foreign people in Canada than white people. They don't even laws anymore on who can come into the country.I mean,if someone has SARS or something(like a asian guy,he had SARS and went to Toronto),then comes here, and infects a large amount of people with it,and kills the people. There would be a lot of good if they set limits on those things, cause it all is mainly to do with health issues...
MonkeyMan
I agree. The other problem we have is being lax on drug laws. I mean all the leaders up here are trying to decriminalize maarijuana
Janiel
MM89, people here are trying to do it too. Most of north america, actually. It's nothing new, people have been trying for years. I think it's almost legal in a state or two. Not sure, though.

If everyone hates America, then answer me this:
Why is everyone and their freaking dog moving here? !!
Don't get me wrong; I'm not against imigration. America is, after all, a country of imigrants.
But the last 10 years or so I have seen a huge surge in foreigners moving here. And it's not just Mexicans; it's folks from all corners of the globe.
It's unbelievable really. I can't walk into the grocery store anymore without encountering language/cultural barriers.
BurnSide
Andy, i know what you mean man. My city alone up here in canada has more langauges than i thought existed. I don't think i know very many people who are actual canadians. I'm not. laugh.gif
DukeofNoodleness
Like I said. The world should be one. You should love those people and accept them original.gif

It's not YOUR country...It's A country. And if people want to move there they should have that right grin2.gif

I'm sure you are a very nice person. I like very nice people...therefore...I like you. original.gif

That being said, You are sooooooo wrong. It is not A country...it is MY country. No one has the right to come into my living room in my house if I don't allow them to. And no one has a right to come to America if America doesn't allow them to. But we are very, very leniant when it comes down to who can and can't come here.

I personally wish as many people from as many different countries could come here and experience America. original.gif

I agree Joc.. I think if more people came here and "experienced America"... people wouldn't think we are such bad awful people... sad.gif

I hope to think that we as Americans in general are not looked upon as a horrid race but that our leaders are taking the brunt of the blame. In most cases this is true...Bush is viewed as a moron/tyrant although how anyone can justify him being both baffles me. We Americans might as well get used to the fact that some people are not going to like us no matter who heads our government or where are troops are deployed. If we weren't fighting a war on terror then the world would complain (that is if we were doing nothing and Saddam was still in power). Our government gave money to help the Palistinians after the death of Arifaht and the world complained, even though we have been supporting Israel for years. No matter who is President, the world will complain that it was wronged in some way, the American public is stupid and the wrong man was elected because they cheated. Guess what, fellow Americans, all the pro-American threads and articles posted here seem to only fuel the flame because we don't always think before we post. It makes it difficult to make an intelligent argument when one American says "Well, I like my country just fine so, MEH!" without posting something of value. Posting opinions is good and all but some threads should be left to the master debaters (myself not included) unless you can come up with a reasonable argument supporting your statements. Until that happens, the super patriotic American posts with little to no substance are just as invaluable as the "I hate America soooooooooo much" posts and they will continue to pollute these forums until we all learn to be civil.

Lucky for all of you reading this, that's the most you will ever hear from me on this particular subject.

As someone who is watching political correctness going off the deep end over here, I wholeheartedly agree....I very much believe in integration, and if you're unable to accept the culture you find when you move somewhere, then piss off back home - don't demand that the people already there to change to fit you.
MonkeyMan
yeah politicak correctness has gotten out of hand lately.

The US elected George W. Bush for presidency..not once but twice!..So the majority of the people in this country arent very smart in my opinion..but other than that, this country is pretty great..atleast it has good food thumbsup.gif

I agree with Joc up there, i wanted to mention.

Australia is not any country. Canada is not any country. And the USA is not any country. They are the countries, like all of them, that belong to the people dwelling within and it is not a RIGHT, it is a PRIVALEDGE to be allowed to enter and live in the country if it is not yours.

I am a citizen of the United Kingdom, but i live freely and wonderfully in Canada, not because it is my right as a human being but because i am so privaledged to do so.

BurnSide - You speak true.

I know there are certain rules about living in countries and I agree with seraphina when you say that if you cannot respect a countries wishes and beliefs then piss off back home. I wasnt even TALKING about any Politically correct thing. Never once in my post did I mention that mad.gif

I was meaning about people who automatically take offence at someone moving to their country. The world is ONE. We should all respect each other....where as moving from country to country has it's limitations and rules you should still respect someone who decides to move to your country and give them a chance.

Am I the only one who thinks you should respect everyone and treat others how you like to be treated? huh.gif

I also agree that political correctness is getting way over board. People are getting FAR too sensitive. And while I understand HOW it's gotten that way, I do not agree with it. If I mention someone of a different race I wont pussy foot around it and try to speak about them as not to offend.
If they're black they are black.
white, white.
Native american, Native american.
Chinese, Chinese.
Asian, asian.

Frankly I don't see why those words offend people so much. Maybe it's the thought of being catagorized. Being catagorized is a human fear. We all LOVE to catagorize other people. It makes it easier to distinguish groups from groups. However when it comes to ourselfs we seem to refuse that we belong in a catagory...and INSIST on being ''my own person''...and not ''like everyone else''.

Humans love to be original yet they are scared of it.
