I have to also ask, why was that link FRUITY?

i love,love,love,love,love,love...............................love vampires!!!!!!!!

i believe in vampires. i feel i know. psi vamps are humans, not actual vampires, its my oppinion that real vampires with supernatural powers are out there. they are just as possible as any other paranormal or supernatural beings talked about on this web site! just like aliens, unicorns, faeries and dragons, they're not proven yet people believe in them. there are so many things out there and waiting for us at the other side that we dont know of or consider myths.
it may not be possible to prove they're real, but neither is it possible to prove they're not. we only see what our eyes allow us to see.
lots o' love

Are vampires real? Yes. Well, to me anyhow. But not in the sense that they are fang bearing, blood sucking, immortal creatures. Those are folkloric vampires, but folklore has to come from somewhere.
From what ive read and studied, there are two typed of vampires. One who drinks blood, and needs it apparently. (Which I think is complete BS!) And a "psi" vampire. I believe psi vampires are the only type of vampire that ever existed..even in stories.
Ive read so many legends and stories about vampires and they all have a common theme. Not many of them (supposed victims) talk about having the "blood" sucked from them. But moreso the "lifeblood." Or, energy. Prana, chi, whatever you want to call it.
Most of the stories take place at night. (By the way..by stories, I mean "documented" cases of vampires from around Europe) And the victim reports seeing a creature often shadowlike by their bed. Their chest tightens and they feel as if they cannot breathe..then in a bit its all over.
That is probably the energy, or "lifeblood" being "sucked" from the victim.
Why dont I believe vampires suck blood? Well. Mainly because "pranic" energy (lifeblood, chi, blah blah) was at one time said to exist in blood. So basically I think stories and speculations grew from there.
Oh well..its interesting to talk about. I do not believe folkloric type DRACULA vampires exist..but as for "psi" vampires..hey..you never know. I am quite a fan of the vampire though

Check out my icon..heh..those are my teeth

If like you say Vampires are real, and infact are humans, drinking blood from anyone would not be advised.
This myth, and that's what it is, a myth was born a few hundred years ago in the days when science and medicine struggled to explain unusual behaviour shown in the dead. It's been picked up and has continued ever since.Drinking the blood from "donors" is not to be advised for obvious reasons. As yet there have never been any zombies or vampiresque people discovered, and there never will be.
I take all paranormal phenomena seriously, this is the exception and one I have no time for.

I was talking to a man on the internet, and I'm not sure if this was already posted or not...but I think its total bullshit...but oh well.
He said that in the battle of the morning star(i think) where Lucifer fought God....well heaven was divided into 3 sections..and all those following lucifer were banished to earth with him before he was sent to guard over hell. His followers, became the damned....spreading disease throughout the land of humans...and God thought that humans needed a good foe or something, so he allowed them to go on. They spread the disease into the human population, changing them to their own kind. .Today, they are known as vampires...
But, I think the guy was a total quack job..looney bin loser because he then went on to tell me that he had once tlaked to god, and he was one of the fallen ones or something. I think he's crazy..and therefore those last statements lead me to discredit his theory. And being as religious as I am, *sarcasm* i also find this hard to bleieve. But hell, that's just me.

i havent read the whole thread to be honest but anyway i believe that vampires are real i believe there out there n some MAY have supernatural powers like katie (aka lilirishvampiress) said but i dont believe that thye die in the sun fear garlic etc.i think their a some wot lesser extent of the fabled vampires coz as we all know people can n do exagerrate even then. im not sure on the whoel rinking of blood thing if oyu ask me i dont think the real vampires (the ones i believe in) do. i believe its just another exaggeration.
much to the point of wot im getting too its like the theories of witches way back when people believed they flew around on broomsticks n all the accuses had to say to that was only if they define flying broomsticks much to that of jumping around sorta thingy... like the kis with the stick with the horse head n wheels. so yer... most things then were exaggerated.
well theres my opnion. will post more after reading some of the beigning of the thread

Vampires, real or not? Hmm... Well I know the wacko wannbe vampire goths that hang out at blood bars are. Never met 'em but I know they exsist. (the things you can find online...)
As for real vampires, I'm unsure. If they do, I'm sure they've been around long enough to know how to avoid being found out. Especially if they really can live for a long time.

lol! Well perhaps you and I can fund a search party and try to find out if at least Anne Rice's vampires are real. That way you can have Lestat and I can have Louis and we'll be happy. Not sure about them, but we will. And all the other fan girls will be green with jealousy!

vampires are ill. They need blood. Thats why they're pail.
But the myth about their big teeth is't true! It all started
when a man donated blood. The doctors took too much of blood
against the man's will, so the man bit the doctor in the neck.
The man had so much loss of blood, he was desperate and unable
to shave. So, this caused a massive chain-reaction! The man
bit another, and another. Soon, people with great blood loss
were known as vampires because they bit people and desperately
tried to suck their blood.

Well here is what i got to say to you ppl after i have read many stories and tales about vampires and here is what i think about them existing.
How are we to understand the vampire? The popular notion of the vampire is largely based on the classic 1931 film "Dracula" with Bela Lugosi. In our minds the vampire is sophisticated, European, a creature of the noble classes -- in short, a Count who lives in a castle and enjoys the finer things in life... but who never drinks... wine.
For the first vampire was not Count Dracula. The first vampires had their origins in the centuries long before Christ, who in modern times is the ultimate adversary of the ostensibly Satanic vampire -- remember, the vampire shrinks before the sacred cross.
The vampire legend dates back to the earliest times of human civilization to the Assyrians, the Babylonians, and other peoples of the ancient Orient. The original vampire was not like the sophisticated, suave European aristocrat that we know of today. The vampire, at its origins, was a monster, that was created by us for entertainment and it was just for that.

Whither or not there are such things as "true" vampires is a question that I doubt would be answered if for no other reason then the fact that it does good for both mortal and undead alike for it to be hidden. (if indeed there are such a thing) Though on the other hand every culture has a vampiric type entity in it's legends; so I would personally be willing to conceed that there is0 likely more truth to the whole vampire deal then we would be comfortable with.

Well unfortunantly there is no way of confirming the issue either way. Although it is somewhat easier to prove a positve than a negative. For if just one vampire where to exist that would be enough; but in order to say they are fake you must be virtually all knowing. Beside's Bram Stokers and Ann Rice's creations are not the only vampires in either lititure or folklore.

I believe I can settle this debate. I'm sure many of you, if not all of you, are aware of the stereotypical characteristics of vampires. For example: fangs, undead, lusts for blood, and dies in the sunlight. But has anyone considered the other traits? The more "poetic" traits I should say. Maybe these words may ring a bell: sensual, seductive, lonely, emotionless, coldhearted, angst. These words have defined what it is to be a "Vampire" just as long as the others. What I'm saying is that the blood lusts and fear of sunlight are not actual vampire traits. Sure sucking blood is fun, but it is a false trait which has evolved over time. What makes a vampire truly a vampire; is their personalities, lifestyles, or ways of thinking, and not a pair of fangs. What I hoped to have done is not to create a second kind of vampire, but to correct the stereotypes that disprove our existence.
Hope I've cleared things up. If not, see me for further tongue lashings

I really don't know whether vampires exist or not, logic has it that they do not, but there are some pretty strange things out there that people can't explain, like mothman for instance. There are too many eyewitness accounts to discredit the existence of mothman. As far as vampires go, here is the link to a website you may want to check out. www.texomatales.com
Sorry, but you will have to manually type the address in. This website has a lot of interesting stories, legends from around the Oklahoma - Texas area. Check out the mailbag, and look for a story called " Black -eyed Kids".
You decide.

I've seen normal people with somewhat long, sharp canines. Or maybe they aren't normal people...
And the whole bat thing, I agree that's just not possible.
And like I said, there is a disease that causes the skin to get all out of whack because of something with their blood or something so they need to drink blood in order to not look all dead and junk. I seriously need to see that episode of CSI again.

I find it interesting when people immediately assume someone is crazy when they say they are a "vampire". . . they assume that the person believes they can fly, they sleep in a coffin, they turn into bats, and they have to run away in constant fear of a little girl named Buffy. . . .
I'm glad that we have a few vamps in here, psi or sanguinarian, to represent those who are of a diferent persuasion. . . . not fictional characters from mythology that may or may not exist, but real people who associate with a vampire lifestyle.

I dunno whether vampires, excist or not.
They've talked about them on discovery channels, had some people actually believe they are vampires.
They drink blood, and dont come out in the morning... blah blah
all that vampires do. Except drinking blood from another humanbeing (biting/eating)
I am fascinated with them though, they are so beautiful.
Actually gonna name my first son, after Dhampir the Impaler, 0r Vlad.
I thought of Dracul, but I dont want him being made fun of, or called the devil.lol Though I wouldn;t mind.
I have actually dated a few guys that are related to vampires.. (so they say)< I do believe it though, or want to believe it.
They shown me proof that they were vampires, or related to them.
But, Ya never know.... they might be fake.
I've been having erotic dreams, of Dracula.
Since I was little, about 4-6, I have been having dreams with dracula comming to my room and all.. I love it, personally.lol
