Wow... after the first 23 or so pages... I'm seeing the same pattern. People claiming to be vampires... people who drink blood, and the ever so scary "psychic vampires" LOL.
All these legendary tales of vampires from ancient times spawn a constant presence in society. People will feed off of vague references because they want to believe in something unknown. That's part of the fun, isn't it? The FACT is that vampires are not what the stories tell.
First of all, people who drink blood, and these "psychic vampires" are just people who want to believe they are in some special group. It's called socializing. It's human nature to want to be part of something.
If you think you're a psychic vampire, you'll get nothing but a laugh out of me. The only "psychic draining" I have ever experienced was this thing called a "business meeting." It's when you sit down at a "table" and listen to someone "talk" and point at "pictures" from this program called "powerpoint." Sucks the life right out of you. Believe me, it's true.
I can guarentee you that if some hero psychic vampire feels like he has the ability to sit there and drain my energy, I'm just going to point and laugh.
As for the emotional aspect of these so called vampires... their poetic and reclusive nature.... sounds like emo kids to me. I've seen the same thing said over and over again in this thread (reference post number 185 I believe?). How much more vague can you get? The very thing described is the emo or goth lifestyle. I've known people in both groups. I've been friends with all kinds of people. So, if someone is poetic, this makes them a vampire? If someone gets off because they know someone is depressed, this makes them a vampire? If someone I can't stand gets into a car accident in front of my eyes, and I'm happy about their depressed state because they're lying there with their legs severed, does this mean I'm draining their energy and becoming happy because of it?
I'll say this... if dracula, or any of these other books and movies hadn't emerged, I guarentee the people claiming to be vampires would be claiming to be something else. People take fetish and fascination to a whole different level by trying to live something they'd rather believe as a reality than what actually is. Face facts, face reality, you're human, just like everyone else. No matter what you want to mask that with, it's the underlying, undeniable truth.
I could go home tonight, and make up some BS legend, story, what have you, and post it on the internet, complete with vague references from the Koran and the Bible. I could write a few pages about it, and state that I have seen certain things with my own eyes. Within a coupe of months, years, there WILL be other websites about it. People will begin to wonder and believe. Some will hold onto it like there's no tomorrow, others will try to debunk it. Others will PROVE it to be false, but there will always be some small group of believers out there that can't let it go because it's just too cool not to be true.
You drink your blood, I'll drink my diet coke. And when you're feeling depressed and you want to "drain" someone's energy

then I'm going to play my guitar. However, I won't be playing along to "My Chemical Romance."
