It seems our friend here does indeed have more than half a mind. Yes, I am a vampire, but I am different from everything that you have ever heard of. My claim of vampiricy comes from my heritage rather than wanting to become. If you do not believe, that is your own strife. We do not require you to believe. All we ask is that you listen when the time comes.

If I was a vampire I think I would choose new york as my eternal residence. I could eat italian one night then chinese the next....with perhaps a nice russian for dessert.

So nice, you being about 17, to have such wisdom. I wanted to be a vampire when I was 17, then I grew up. Imagination is a wonderful thing.

"Vampires" are merely the end result of a child who didn't get all the attention they wanted when maturing, now grown, they still have a want of attention and so must set themselves apart from the common group. They want people to look at them, so they think up something gruesome to make themselves into (really, whos going to marvel at your "dark soul" if you walk around everywhere dressed as a bunny?) so they decide to say that they are a vampire. I would be interested in learning the average age of all the "vampires" in the world, or even this forum for that matter, I would guess it's between 12 and 17. There is simply no such thing as a vampire, at least not in the way you are all talking about them. There are emotional vampires, people who make you depressed just by having to be around them (its a drag) but not blood suckers.

You hit the nail on the head. Exellent post. Very good. thumbsup.gif

First off, the age that is displayed on my profile is incorrect. Unlike most who randomly decide to "become" vampires for popularity or to become cool, I was born into this culture. And yes, imagination is indeed a wonderful thing save for one detail. I had never seen a movie or read a book on vampires before I started what I am doing. When I began I thought my family was so strange. "We had people who drank blood...in our family!?" This was my reaction when I discovered my roots. Only after I was given the title of vampire by those passing by did I learn what vampirism is.

Just so there is no confusion about my sanity, I have no illusions of immortality. Age has no relevance to what I do. I have a friends whos ages are multiples of my own, yet I still think on a higher level than they. Also, maturity is irrelevant of age.

Hi people..

I'm from Singapore and I chanced upon this local book which talks abt a vampire sighting way back in 1920. 'The Dracula of Changi' had a long tongue which he would pierce into his victims' chests and then suck blood from their hearts. he was described as being tall with red eyes and dressed in black.

however, rumour has it that all vampires will be killed by lightning by 2001. i guess there r no more ard today tongue.gif

stories of bloodsucking humans were around before Bram Stoker's Dracula, he simply romanticized it, as was common for that time, in Victorian Europe and America.

Then you claim that dozens of generations of my family are just simply wrong because you refuse to believe in something? Or that an entire bloodline was just fooling themselves? Friend, my seriousness in this subject is not to be taken lightly.

People, if we are to discuss this subject properly, we will need more than your skepticism and wikipedia definitions. If you know something, present it. But if you have only narrow-minded opinions and someone elses word than this is a crowd not worthy intellectual debates of this caliber.

I think vampires are real. I mean they've been around for millions of years. Think about it. There's books about them and movies. Or that commercial for the Ritz crackers. So I think they are real. I always read about them. I would like to know if there are actually some vampires out there. One of my friend thinks i'm really weird for thinking they are real. I may be weird but i really don't care.

vampire LEGENDS have been around for quite some time, there only stories and yeah certain tribes have drank blood as a ritual and i think thats all it is. its not so much that winged creatures that drink blood and live forever are real as it is that people drink blood, they dont live forever and they cant fly. if vampires in the fiction sence were real then the world would be a different place than it is today, so please get over it. mellow.gif

Vampires are a myth, the first myths came around when the general Vlad the Impaler would impale opposing prisoners and drink their dripping blood, vampires do not exist, and more than one study have proved that, although if you do happen to see something that looks like a vampire, it is likely to be a demon. thumbsup.gif

If vampires exist, i'm pretty sure there would be at least one person who got free from a vampiric attack and tells the story, and that has never happened, besides, it just don't make sense, If the vampires exist:

How did the first vampire was created?
By some devil's curse like Kain ?

Lets get this straight, ancient humans were very superstitous just imagine those ancient people meeting up a race of humans whose dentition formula is like those of cats and dogs so they were discriminated as demons and vampires and then wiped out to extinction.

I believe that vampires were a different race of human beings but physically 1.5 stronger, dentition like a cat or chimpanzee], They were peaceful people until people[those vampire busters] start to kill them...... They became extinct probably hundreds of years ago.

29 Pages !!!! People, leave it for play lunch time.

Can we appeal to the moderators to atempt to screen delusional teenagers, pranksters or any other vampires so that those of us can have a read in here without feeling I should also be sending an email of the the funny farm to come pick me up.

Sheesh. No wonder people who try to understand unexplained phenomena are usually laughed at.
I thought this was a forum to keep up to date, read theories etc. Please lets not see it turned into some kiddies playground to further retard fields like cryptozoology or paranormal phenomena.

I blame the church. It is because of the church that religions as well as entire cultures are now no longer in existence. It is also because of the church, however, that we have first names. So it is kind of a backwards deal. Yet the ability to find someone by their names in the phonebook is no compensation for Pagans being burned alive.

Wow... after the first 23 or so pages... I'm seeing the same pattern. People claiming to be vampires... people who drink blood, and the ever so scary "psychic vampires" LOL.

All these legendary tales of vampires from ancient times spawn a constant presence in society. People will feed off of vague references because they want to believe in something unknown. That's part of the fun, isn't it? The FACT is that vampires are not what the stories tell.

First of all, people who drink blood, and these "psychic vampires" are just people who want to believe they are in some special group. It's called socializing. It's human nature to want to be part of something.

If you think you're a psychic vampire, you'll get nothing but a laugh out of me. The only "psychic draining" I have ever experienced was this thing called a "business meeting." It's when you sit down at a "table" and listen to someone "talk" and point at "pictures" from this program called "powerpoint." Sucks the life right out of you. Believe me, it's true.

I can guarentee you that if some hero psychic vampire feels like he has the ability to sit there and drain my energy, I'm just going to point and laugh.

As for the emotional aspect of these so called vampires... their poetic and reclusive nature.... sounds like emo kids to me. I've seen the same thing said over and over again in this thread (reference post number 185 I believe?). How much more vague can you get? The very thing described is the emo or goth lifestyle. I've known people in both groups. I've been friends with all kinds of people. So, if someone is poetic, this makes them a vampire? If someone gets off because they know someone is depressed, this makes them a vampire? If someone I can't stand gets into a car accident in front of my eyes, and I'm happy about their depressed state because they're lying there with their legs severed, does this mean I'm draining their energy and becoming happy because of it?

I'll say this... if dracula, or any of these other books and movies hadn't emerged, I guarentee the people claiming to be vampires would be claiming to be something else. People take fetish and fascination to a whole different level by trying to live something they'd rather believe as a reality than what actually is. Face facts, face reality, you're human, just like everyone else. No matter what you want to mask that with, it's the underlying, undeniable truth.

I could go home tonight, and make up some BS legend, story, what have you, and post it on the internet, complete with vague references from the Koran and the Bible. I could write a few pages about it, and state that I have seen certain things with my own eyes. Within a coupe of months, years, there WILL be other websites about it. People will begin to wonder and believe. Some will hold onto it like there's no tomorrow, others will try to debunk it. Others will PROVE it to be false, but there will always be some small group of believers out there that can't let it go because it's just too cool not to be true.

You drink your blood, I'll drink my diet coke. And when you're feeling depressed and you want to "drain" someone's energy grin2.gif then I'm going to play my guitar. However, I won't be playing along to "My Chemical Romance."

LOL, nah, I used to have a Fender Strat, an Ibanez Universe, an Ibanez RG, a few Ibanez Jems, and this homemade guitar that was owned by Paul Gilbert. I still have the Gilbert guitar and one of my Jems, and that's it... They had an Ibanez Universe on stage during Queen of The Damned... so I think I'm safe : )

On a vampiristic note, I absolutely loved the Anne Rice novels. I've read almost all of them.

Still amazes me people will twist their habits around and do things just to say, "Hey man, I'm a vampire, even though I don't drink blood, no, really, I'm a vampire! I'll suck on your depression!!"

Your accusations are hardly conclusive as that is all they are, accusations. At this point of discussion, both sides seem to be knowledgeable, yet both are bent by personal opinion. Because of this, neither side is right nor wrong in any case. I believe I am what I am just as well as a Christian believes they are a child of God. Again, I invite anyone to try to "drain" my energy, chi, or whatever.

Seriously, try it, right now. Surely you'll tell me you can't do it because you aren't in my physical presence. But why should that matter? Whether I'm 1 foot or a thousand miles from you, we both still exist.

Here's a little nugget of information for you to chew on, oh great vampire:

ANYONE can effect ANYONE. Guess what, you don't even have to think about it, and you don't have to have any special powers, hell, you don't have to call yourself a vampire to sound oh so cool either!

For example, if you wish to make someone feel nervous, you only have to do one thing. All you have to do is stand there and stare at them. You don't have to focus your eyes (I find it's easier to stop myself from laughing if I blur my vision but keep my eyes pointed at that individual). The "victim" begins to feel nervous, and uncomfortable. Perhaps that person was in a good mood. Suddenly, they're upset because someone is STARING at them. Ooooooooooooh CREEPY!!

So, now I'm happy because I've taunted someone with my evil vampiristic stare, and they're sad because they think I think they're ugly or something, or they think I'm going to stalk them and make them put lotion on their skin!! Yay, I've drained someone's "ENERGY."

Dude, get a friggin grip.

You stated neither side is right or wrong, because you KNOW that you are in fact, wrong. I can honestly, openly, and without guilt or fear or reprisal state that I am right. You aren't a vampire. You aren't cool, you aren't anything but a human being trying to live a fantasy. Just as everyone else wishes to do, add something to spice up a dull existence.

Furthermore, I feel sorry for the fact you've made your daughter believe in something that doesn't exist. It's sick that you would even expose her to such stupidity. In all honesty, if I had a kid, I'd feel safer teaching him/her that drug use is safer than believing I'm a friggin vampire. You've done your child a disservice, and you should feel ashamed.

"For show and tell, here's my daddy! He says he's a vampire and he'll drain your energy cuz he doesn't drink blood!"

You should probably quit this game because you are a loser!!

You lost your spellbook.

Game Over.

Bummer.

lol... that was very entertaining. But I really didn't have the patience to read all the posts... just a few that caught my eye.
Now... why does Arsenik think he is a vampire? I guess I will type what everyone else has already... where's your proof? And if your a vampire why are you on the internet forums stating what you are? Why aren't you flying around creeping into young virgin's homes and sucking their blood?
*shrug* wouldn't the light off the computer hurt your eyes? And are you starting a new cult? Does everyone cut themselves as part of a vampire ritual? I did go on your site briefly.... just really curious.. I mean this in no disrespect... I am merely asking questions of what I know about vampires through myths.

I believe I am what I am just as well as a Christian believes they are a child of God. And like any religious person, I will defend my stand-point against skepticism and doubt. For which I thank the participant of this discussion. I haven't had a good hearty debate in some time. It is good to keep things fresh.

So you believe yourself not to be a biological vampire? This statement confuses me a little. Christians who feel themselves to be children of god are obviously not speaking of actual biological parentage but of spiritual feelings. Christians do not gain any supernatural powers from being a christian or calling themselves christians. So is your vampirism real or imagined? Do you claim it to be an actual physical condition or is it more of a religion than anything else?

I wish i had a really sharp fork, a bucket of nails, a really large knife, and was standing next to you.

Threats don't help your standpoint at all, I'm afraid this makes you seem less real, if you want to be taken seriously, I would suggest you change that aspect of your speech.

EDIT: I am actually enjoying this debate a bit myself, as long as people form complete thoughts, I'm finding this very interesting.
