Yeah, actually, many americans are rude and ignorant of other people. For example..in some places in the US,they even dislike canadians

Many americans on here(UM) are an exception though

But,it's true mostly.Dunno about the brits. Now,As everyone knows,Canadians are mostly friendly, but some aren't,so it depends on who the person is really.I would prefer to be Canadian as i am.And another thing, technically,we canadians should be called the true americans, because we got to north america first, then the other 'americans' came, and changed all that.

I voted britain, just something about our country that brings a little tear to my eye everytime i am away from britain and thinking about it. The rolling hills, the vast fields, the woods and forrests, the kebab shops...
The only other place i'd rather be than Britain is Austria, near the alps i prefer cold weather to hot weather. Britains weather isn't as bad as people make out, its not always raining. The sun shines in the summer, and snow falls in the winter. The last two summers have been unbearably hot for me, thinking of migrating to the alps....

I have traveled all over the world and found a lot of great places that I could definately live comfortably.
I've been to London, and done the tourist type stuff; museums and that kind of stuff. I have never been there for any longer than a couple of weeks at a time so my experience is limited in that respect.
One of the things that I have noticed is that regardless of where I go, there are good people and not so good people. Often that ratio is the same pretty much anywhere.
I am more than a little suspect of folks that generalize one place or another as good or bad, friendly or unfriendly. It sounds to me like many folks have preset opinions based on limited knowledge and have little if any plans of having an open mind on the matter.
The US is huge. Western Europe has so many different cultures and languages from one end to the other, but yet it is smaller than the distance from California to New York. Each state is it's own culture in many cases and what someone may experience in one state may be different than another.
There are good people in the US who are level headed, well educated people with an idea of what is going on in the world. There are many that are ignorant fools as well. Just like in the UK...and Germany, and Italy, and...etc...Everywhere I have ever traveled it appears to be about the same.
Overall there are more good people than bad, and that is a good thing.
I liked London and the surrounding towns and met many nice people there. I met a few jerks too but I did not let that color my opinion of the entire Island...

Ok i am gonna stand up for the uk. As i live in Scotland! yes thats right alot of americans don't know that britain doesn't just consist of England. There is Scotland, England, Wales and N.Ireland.
If you like a place with good landscapes think scotland, the view is great and the people are warm. Then you go into glasgow and you might get chibbed lol! (slang reserved for the scots on the board)
I remember seeing a poll somewhere which rated that the scottish accent as the most sexiest accent to most people across the world. Doesn't sound that great to me lol
Anyway our famous food is the same as the rest of the U.K. which is good old fish and chips! Oh and haggis although not alot of people here actually eat that.

America any day of the week,I'de miss our heritage, humour, fish and chips and Pubs but America being the size that it is could offer so much more.(and im sure i could get use to the weather of Florida, the scenery of the Grand Canyon and the massive sizes of your McDonalds.)
I've been to New York and Orlando and absolutely loved it.New Yorkers are so hyper and mad its funny.Orlando was hot and entertaining!
Las Vegas is my next trip,Cant wait to see Lance Burton and gamble away some of my hard earned cash.
London is too unsociable and dirty.

I'de miss Scotland though, parts of Scotland are the most beautiful and mystifying in the world.

I'd rather live in America.
There are more oppertunities, better and bigger houses, more things for children to do - rather than hang about on street corners, better pay.
I would love it, and there is no way I would miss my pokey hole here, I would miss my family and friends, but I would try to visit often.

these threads always get me raging because of the above completley gnorant statement, and thats comin from someone whos british.
Or the comment from the duke of noodleness who went on to describe northern britain inculding cities such as manchester or liverpool which are nothern england and nowhere near the north of britain. (also from an english perosn)
The amount of people on the forum who describe Britain as England as absolutley shocking ESPECIALLY from the english emmebers of the forum.
Thank you sypher for also pointing out this as well.
BTW just for whoever the moron was that said the above quote, the national emblems of scotland are teh Lion Rampant and the Saltire.
