Jus wondering is all, i finally got my hands on DooM 3, and wanted to know what the multiplayer was like...(seeing as i can't use MP yet, for another 3 days then i get my broadband.)
BurnSide
My comp isn't even remotely good enough to handle Doom3. sad.gif I think my graphics card would simply melt if i tried it. laugh.gif Is it good?
Janiel
I had it, yes HAD it. I didn't like it. At all. Waste of time and more time (as i didn't buy it, i downloaded it tongue.gif )
Not even scary.
BurnSide
Really?
To be honest, it looked like alot of the same old thing.
Janiel
Yeah, it was. Just boosted graphics.

The graphics are excellant, i'm using a geforce 5. I've only played the first two areas (before you arrive back at mars city), and so far its pretty good....obviously young janiel cannot appreciate that which is DooM.
Janiel
You're only 6 years older then me <_<
Blood Angel
To be honest janiel what exactly did you expect from DooM 3? I expected DooM and nothing more....if you get my meaning. So far, DooM 3 has lived up to its name - great atmosphere, spooky stuff, scary enemies (not that i get scared by DooM 3 mind, well i did poo myself when someone sprayed steam in my face...) great levels (so far anyway).
Janiel
I dunno, i thought it would be more like FarCry. That might be why i was dissapointed tongue.gif
The Banana Pie Eater!
I played Doom3 demo... And I decided to not buy it. (I wasn't going to buy it anyway)
The story is too bad actually... It's like the Story of Half life1, just worse! I liked the story of Half life...
And I don't get one thing... They're on mars, right? And those guys made to release hell there... So is there a hell in Mars?

Being that I was a great DOOM fan myself once (I still have a poster of the original DOOM game on my room's door, never bothered to take it off tongue.gif), I waited a loooong time for that game to come out.
But I was a bit disappointed.
Don't know why.
Yeah, I appreciate the nostalgy, but other than that, didn't get through me that much...

I've had a shot of the multiplayer, it's ok, but the main drawback is that it only supports up to a maximum of four players per game.

I have to admit that as much as I like Doom 3, i definately prefer Half-Life 2. thumbsup.gif
Blood Angel
There are some servers running 12 person games o_o
I haven't played halflife 2 yet, good is it?

Doom 3 is great to play first time around, I usualy only play Single player games the once anyway !!!.

Doom 3 was a good experience, especially the beginning and delta labs! where it picks up again.

Yes you get used to the scary part. If you play on 5.1 surround sound or headphones it enhances it soo much!

Multi player never really lasted, but thats ok!

Quake 4 soon...

Doom 3 has lived up to its hype. You guys were so hyped that staring into the face of God would have made Doom 3 better. I think its great. BTW my name on Doom 3 multiplayer is Red Skull.
