Close to my home in England, there was a beach where litterally thousands of people would go and find almost a constant supply of fossils. I took a trip there myself once, and found 10 fossilized trilobites and the like, fossilized in the slate and limestone.

SO i have a fair few, i wouldn't say i collect them, but they're nifty to have.

I don't actually look for them but I find them on occasion. It's interesting...I found a sharks tooth in N. Georgia in a dry creek bed on the side of the mountain. Makes you wonder how they get there. blink.gif

I'm Italian, that's a male name. "Michela" is the female version, like Michelle. Michael would be my corresponding English translation then.

awww me too! I had this vast collection of fossils/arrowheads/pottery as a kid and I've moved so many times that I've lost the most of my stuff!! no.gif

Back in my home town of Santa Fe, NM there was all kinds of things to be found.

I think my prize piece was a fossilized cluster of clams. The cluster was really defined and very beautiful!

I also have a few chunks of fossilized wood around the house.

Just whenever I see something interesting, I tend to pick it up and bring it home. Even if it's just a pretty rock. LOL!

Went to a show last month, bought a couple (trilobite and crynoids). Got some shelled fossils from down the road and a fossilized strawberry (or petrified I don't know the difference).

petrified: is when minerals replace the organic matter from the fossil/object.
