Hey everyone! I was just wondering why every creature is based on lame eye- witness reports and why they are so lazy/stupid/afraid to investigate it themselfs. You can make up anything you want and ppl would believe it.

I guess I'm just waiting for the time that there is REAL, HARD EVIDENCE and not some corny photographs of Photoshopped things created by pathetic, ignorant n00bs.

well i'd believe a credible person sayin about an encounter, rather than some of the blurry, could be anything photos anyday...

eyewitness reports are the best thing until we get a good photo of one of these creatures..

OMG THE RARE AN ELUSIVE PURPLE GORILLA *grabs hunting gear*.

Lol, What if you see one of these cryptids yourself, and then you came on here, and everybody said it was fake, and your sorta not taking all the skeptics into consideration, like me. Like I believe in somethings, buty I try my best to de-bunk things I have a hard time believing.
Tia
quasar_kid just wait until the day you do see something.
You'll be so busy taking a second and third look, wondering if your eyes are deceiving you and then your fight or flight response will kick in.
Is it any wonder that a good photo ( that's assuming you've got a camera on hand and ready ) is so hard to come by.

People say 'If most cryptids were real they'd be more photos'.

Do YOU take a camera evreywhere you go? No. Why should they? And plus, theres plenty of photos. You just gotta know where to look.

being on both sides of the fence on this and where I have been is wonderful and down trodden at the same time I can give you my answer.
I saw Nessie in 1999 via a webcam with my hubby and it was earth shattering.. I became world known for being the first person to ever see a Lake monster on a web cam
I am mentioned in beneath Loch Ness a cheesy b rated horror flick by mention of a couple in Texas saw Nessie on the web cam.. us being the only reported couple that saw Nessie on the web cam .

I have a site.. but let me warn you before you trot out there most people think my pictures are of boats and birds. you can check it out at
http://www.geocities.com/nessie_hunter
it has been online for almost 6 years so I am not making this up just for you.

We saw something that is not anything we can identify that morning, we saw it clearly, and unless it was an elaborate hoax on scotlands part it was real.
I didn't know how to take a picture until the next day my mom told me how.
I am about as sincere as you can get in this and I have had just about every nasty reply hurled my way you can think of. and apparently I have aquired some nudzh fans trying to give me what I want.. which is something I cannot fathom and If you want to email me I will give you my entire story.( I cannot see myself as that important) I work in fast food at 6.00 an hour and I am 40 years old.

I will give you a brief detial from memory
We had gone outside cause it was hot
we came back in I sat down at my computer and my Hubby sat down in front of Wrestling at about 12 15 am our time I lit a cigarette and looked up and I saw Newsie sailing past the castle at Uquart Head and Neck as pretty as you please. she was (It was) burnt orange in color and it looked like it was mottled like a giraffe there was this massive dragon croc shaped head sitting flat on a cylinder like neck that seemed to be about 15 foot out of the water adjacent to the castle
It looked like I was sitting in medieval times looking like a moat monster swimming gracefully past the castle like it was suppose to be happening.. a day to day occurrence.
It has haunted me ever since, I had no way to capture the picture cause I didn't know how
I took several pictures later that I believe to be nessie
let me state that again that I believe to be nessie I have nothing for the first sighting except I saw it with my hubby and that is it.

I have no reason to make it up
I have no profit to make believe me if I wasnt so lazy I would have already wrote a book.
I am a animal person and I dent want to make nothing off of it
I want it to be protected
so there you go you got what you asked for
I saw Nessie
It was real
I have no proof but my soul to give you

Nora Jones
Apocalyptic Cryptid
well think about it.. i would have freaked out if i saw any cryptid.... i would have forgotten some of the details...like your in shock...

Agreeing with what mr_halo and Tia said -

Many people don't have cameras ready with them all the time as if their expecting to see or encounter a cryptid. If a camera was taken lets say, and they see this strange cryptid, horriffying or not, you'll check or eyes. Blink several times. Rub your eye once, twice, three times making sure your seeing this right and not hillusinating. While the camera could be used to take a picture with, either in shock or totally surreal, you'll probably lose the chance of taking a picture. They run, they leave, they publish their story and thats how we rely on what they said, without evidence or with - it would be hard to prove true.

^Definitly agree with you - Though lets say you go to Loch Ness. You can't always suspect the Loch Ness Monster will come up or expect a log to swim off in the lake by the tide and suspect you saw it. I wouldn't agree with you though on the part that you have to know where to look.

There are lots of photos, but they're (all) either hoaxed, or something other that a sea creature...
The Skeptic Eric Raven
Nora, I believe you believe what you saw, but the pictures have much to be desired. They look like many things but not a living creature.
Mysteryman
Well like I say in many threads based on either Nessie, Champ, and Ogopogo, anything that comes to the lake top could be suspected, concluded, and assumed as seeing the lake monster. Meantime, it could be a dead fish floating, a branch swimming due to tides, or just a turn of a wave in a tide...
