I have been browsing through the MOC image collection for years and have noticed some very strange things on the surface of the red planet. I have contacted scientists about some of the images I have come across, but they do seem to have the idea that I am crazy. Take a look at these images for me and tell me if I am crazy or not. If you see nothing remarkable on the images I will probably have to seek professional assistance.

In a little bit of detail, please explain what we are looking for / at

or do it simple and highlight places / objects of interest in Red

what? There might have been life on mars, but no evidence for intelligent.
I dont understand what we are looking for in them pics

Actually I do see some things. In the second picture I see what looks like a square outline, it looks like a perfect square covered by years of sand. In the second picture I see a triangular object, an outline, also covered with sand or dirt. when you look at the pictures slowly move back a few inches and the objects stand out a little. Could be natural formations, but they do stand out from the rest of the terrain. To me at least.

I agree with Warden.
Not really sure how civilizations are seen in these images of a barren landscape. Okay, so there are dark areas, so? Just a density of rock.

I glanced at the photos for 2 minutes and saw some irregularities. I'm not saying they mean anything.

It is the amount of rectangular objects, natural or unnatural I am talking about. This pattern can be seen in the polar regions of the planet on many images. This strange pattern over and over again.
I have travelled a lot and hiked in different places, here on Earth but I have never seen so many rectangular objects in nature in the same place, exept in towns or cities. Thatīs what I am talking about.
To me it looks like ruins of some sort. I do not expect many people to see this as remains of a civilization, but that is how I see it and I wanted to share it with someone.

Oh, please! Those black rectangles are obviously artifacts from zooming in on digital photos so much that individual pixels start to blend together.
The greatest talent of the human brain is to recognise patterns. We are so brilliant at pattern recognition that we often see patterns where none exist, such as the Virgin Mary in the reflection on a window or footprints of a Yeti in a tumble of snow.
Question everything, all the time! If somebody tells you something, DOUBT IT!
Make wild conclusions, such as "buildings on Mars" ONLY when more reasonable (and less fun) conclusions can't explain what you see.

I think on the second picture, i did see an image of a face, towards the middle, looks like it to me! The others, i am not sure what i am supposed to be seeing?

Jan 24 2005, 07:37 PM
Gunnlaugsson, do you know what is the spatial resolution of the images? In other words how many square miles one pixel of the image corresponds to? It is quite possible that it is more than 20x20 miles from what I see. With such resolution it is almost impossible to see any town...

I tentatively agree with blizno.
If you look at the right of the first pic, you notice a "stairstep" effect caused by extreme magnification showing "pixilization"
Data transmission loss can also result in what's known as "missing pixels" which result in black rectangular spots on the image.
Another thing to keep in mind(as blizno was saying) with regards to the seemingly endless rectangular shapes, is this: In electronic imaging, a CCD(charged coupled device) image of random detail will appear as "blocks" in high magnification.

Yeah those ones are a nightmare to spot anything, but if you look at a lot of the ones floating around on the web on other sites that are specifically analyzing the latest picture the irregularities are much easier to see.
This site has some very interesting images...
http://www.aliendave.com/Mars.htmlCheck the one showing colours of green and blue, or the saucer/circular shaped ston that clearly had another perfect hole drilled through the middle. Bizzarre...
Some of the pictures REALLY stretch it (lmao, the "Mars sandcastle") but some are just a little too peculiar...

Thank you for sending the ongoing info! Yeah alot of strange looking rocks an such, yes, i seen \the green aN BLUE COLORED picture, makes ya kinda of think, what's the true story?? As Nasa puts out only the things that they want the public to view, how are we earthlings are supposed to believe it! They also cover up alot of things that they do not want us, being the public to see.. That's afirmative!!!

No wonder we have those fly by.- Ufo's, they are trying to figure out, why were so stupid! As the government keeps things from the public! Ufo's have been around for ages, 'bout time they made us a showing of what they have, we sure need it!! Us UFOIENS need to and want to know what's going on!!! Zepher_one over and out!

I'm partial to the following image....which I think is just a tad more strange than the first ones in this thread......
http://lyle.org/mars/imagery/1N156861737EF...05L0M1.JPG.htmlAnyone wanna comment on the object in the sky? It's not a camera defect, that's been proven. And NASA refuses to comment...as usual.
I'm one of the biggest skeptics on this site, but I have to admit I was pretty impressed by this photo.

Zepher_one, Here! Answer to your pic. quite impressive, looks to me like either a disk shaped object, or one of the cigar shaped ufo's it's hard to say which, but there is deffinatly something up there on the horizen, well we all know Nasa is going to come up with some sort of cover up!!!

I agree. It is a wonder why they did not remove it when JPL/NASA looks closely at each pic before public release. Perhaps they are "desensitizing" us to the inevitable revelation that UFO's exist. Or maybe it is some type of "normal" event. I, along with everyone else, would like to hear an official statement from NASA regarding this official picture.

considering the mathematical relavance within the cydonia region its likely there are other sites-keep looking! as far as the images included the one mentioned as unusual is a little unnatural but not conclusive-imo cydonia is completely unnatural -too many references to the golden ratio all in one site

This site has an interesting explanation about how easy it is for humans to find patterns, whether they exist or not:
http://www.badastronomy.com/bad/misc/lenin.htmlThe rest of the site is worth checking out too.
I've been studying the pictures at the beginning of this thread as hard as I can. Yes, there's something vaguely visible but the pictures are blown up so much it's impossible to tell what they might be. For the life of me, they look like nothing more than mountains and ridges, but they could be anything.
