I was just wondering if anyone had any C&C games, specifically RA2. thats the only game i have, but i love it. i dont know anyone else that has the game, so i dont have anyone to play online with. Is there anyone here who has the game and has an online account? if you do, then please tell me cause i want to play with someone i know. if you dont, but you still like the games, then just post in here what you like about them.

I had C&C red Alert for YEARS. I have to say it was one of my favourites of the genre. I especially liked creating my own terrains with the level editor. Man i had some CRAZY levels!

Sadly i lost it a few years ago tho i would have given you a good game.

i have yet to make my own levels, but ill get to it evetually.

i just need someone to ally with on the online battles. i hate fighting with someone i dont know because its not as easy to make a plan of action.

I have the game but I stopped playing online awhile ago(got my ass whooped real bad everytime)..... are you an "expert" or "novice" c&c player?

hell, im definatley no expert. im not a complete novice player, but i lean more towards that. i always get my ass whooped too, thats why im looking for someone to help me, or we could just get our ass whooped together do you still have the game and have ur online account?

I still got the game, take me two minutes to get an account.... I won't have time to play until probaly Tuesday though. But if you want we can team up on some people and hope for the best.....

I'm a C&C fanactic, same as erikl, got all the music, even some figures and "toy" tanks, got all the games. >_> i'm a expert player...

I used to have the original Red Alert when it first came out, that was one of the best RTS games ever.

Not as keen on the later ones though, didn't really like Red Alert 2 all that much.

Ahh, Red Alert 2. My favorite RTS game ever. I had an online acount, about five years ago. I played it every day, for hours on end. Then, one day I just... stopped. I completely forgot about it, for almost a year. I randomly found it in a bargain bin for seven bucks while shopping for Halo PC so I grabbed it. I reinstalled it and tried to connect online, only to find that the main Westwood server had gone down. It didn't help when I found out that the main site had gone down, either.

Was a very sad day indeed...

I loved messing around with Final Alert 2, as well. My maps sucked, though. I wouldn't consider myself an 'expert' player, but I considered myself a 'skilled' one. I could beat a single enemy on the highest difficulty level, but once it got onto more than one player I would either lose right away or kill one of them before getting attacked by another.

Final alert 2...still have that on my other PC, made a few maps...tried to create a russian invasion of britain - 3 maps in and i sort of lost interest.



That or a squad of terror drones scuttling towards your favorite troop of prism tanks that took half the game to make.

damnit. i just played RA2 online right now....and got my ass kicked again! i dont understand it. everyone always somehow has more money than me and gets all this cool crap before I do and instantly comes and attacks my base before im ready and forces me to abort the game which i hate doing. this is such complete bs. i need help...badly.

XD you need a lesson in tactics badly. Heres some small fundementals to get you started. When you first start, place walls around your construction yard to stop those turds who send a apc full of engineers direct to it, and capture it. Concentrate on defense to start, build one ore refinery and two extra harvesters (after getting a war factory). Focus on building at least 20 tanks for base defense complimented with pill boxes/sentry guns and GIs/Conscripts. Pay attention to what country you are playing as. If you need extra defense go for France - they get the grand cannon tech, the GC is the best defensive weapon in the game (and sometimes can be employed as a offensive weapon. Nothing pisses off your enemy more than taking over a small building in his base, and plopping a GC next to it - decimating half his base before its taken out.), make sure you have a 5 tanks, with IFV AA support escorting your harvesters. After you defense is sorted follow these for allies:
Build both a tech centre and satelite.
Ore enricher.
Build two spys, and send them intio the tech centres of a allied player, and ore refinery. This way you'll be able to make chrono commandos, the most lethal unit in the game. After you have this tech, dig in with prism towers/GCs/Pill boxes. Then setup gap generaters around your base. The main driving fore of your opponent is power not money. Build up a squadron of 8 harriers, and build up a troop of 9 prism tanks. Give the prisms a 10 rocketteer team as AA escort. Now build 3 chrono commandos. Find a isolated spot to warp to without your enemy knowing near to their base. Then warp all three commandos next to their power stations, then go about wiping out their power till their base is offline (alternatively you can use spys). Take down the air defenses to the base when the power is offline, so you keep your harriers in the air. Conduct bombing missions, whilst moving prisms into position - making sure that power stations are priority targets. Then pummel from afar building by building with the prisms until your enemy is nothing but dust, and you stand victorious over the slain bodies of your enemies. Drink their blood, and dance on their graves.

Soviets:
After defense is sorted:
Build a tech centre, and a cloning vat. Setup your air defenses with flak troopers not flak cannons (flak troopers don't require power, to aid your defenses build V3 rockets to "guard" area around your base, this will beef up weak defenses of the soviets by sending long range artillery into the large masses of tanks/troops that are needed to take you down). Build up a fleet of Apoc tanks, at least 20 (yes 20 nothing can stand up to that), they need no air cover, but if you feel as if you must provide some then use flak traks. Take down their ore harvesters and starve them of cash. Build 3 kirovs, and send them into the enemy base going for air defense and power first, this will carve a hole in defenses for your tanks to go through. Then send in your apocs, decimate the entire area - wipe them out...ALL of them.

i just played again. i still lost, but this time i didnt do too bad. the battle lasted for a long time, but eventually i just gave up cuz there was nothin i could do. my ally was a total dickwad, however. i was trying to help him in his base but he just told me to get my guys out of there, and then he called me a noob, which he shouldnt, cuz im not. i hope next time i dont get a prick for a ally tho.
