Anyhow.... Geelong, Hawthorn, Collingwood and North

Very possible. I think Geelong and Collingwood are definites. However, I think Hawthorn/Bulldogs and North Melbourne/Sydney are so close that it's a toss of the coin - I'm going for both home sides simply because it might be the deciding factor. A week ago, I'd possibly have agreed on the North Melbourne win, but Sydney were simply outstanding against Brisbane, and they played without their top players due to injury. Though to be fair, Sydney have been the Lions' bogey side for quite some time. Even in Premiership form, the Lions always stumbled against the Swans.

Whatever happens, 3 of the 4 games will be spectacular to watch (as I said, sorry to St Kilda, it's a good thing you have the double-chance, lol).

I'm a follower of neither but as for the Crows & Magpies Elimination final, may the better team *cough* (Magpies) *cough* win...

Swans came good in the 2nd Half against North, and Collingwood was simply great against Adelaide. Geelong and Hawthorn both asserted themselves as the teams to beat. Next week's tips:

Bulldogs vs Swans - I'd like to say the Swans can continue their surge, and if they bring their best game they can. But the Bulldogs have been quality opposition all year.

St Kilda vs Collingwood - tough one to choose. Too close to call too. I don't think St Kilda are really Top-4 material but still made it. Collingwood were possibly Top-4 but didn't. Both playing in Melbourne will mean an equal share of the crowd-support. Probably have to go for Collingwood.

Grand final time guys so who do reckons going to win?
The Cats or the Hawks: I am going to back the Hawks because they are on fire. cool.gif

Also it has been a long time since two victorian teams have faced off for the big prize.

Go the Hawks, simply because Geelong have been too impressive for too long. I think the Cats will win, but I'll be going for the Hawks.

^I`m with you PA. Even though the Hawks knocked out my Saints I would love to see them knock off the Cats, however it will take a mighty effort and a bag of 8 from Buddy.

I only managed to watch the 2nd and 3rd quarters of the match. I came in late and had to start work in the evening so missed the last. I almost called in to say I'd be late just to see the end of the game. Fantastic match up to the point I watched. The two quarters I saw were hard, intense and completely a Grand-Final worthy feeling.

Geelong were horrible in front of goal. They could have broken the game apart in that 2nd quarter, but couldn't manage it (not even on the half-time siren when a set shot from virtually 10 metres out sailed wide). Hawthorn seemed to be just hanging on but managed an unlikely lead at half-time then blew the game open at the back-end of the third quarter. Two last-minute goals brought Geelong back into the match and I was so annoyed I couldn't watch the rest. But as it turned out there was nothing to fear. The Hawks continued on their massive win with great accuracy and goals, while Geelong can at the least still boast to being the best club that lost a game to a team that played out of their skins.

Great game, really. Bring on the Swans in '09 tongue.gif
