Indeed I did, the MIGHTY Saints have returned and without three of our best players against the best team in the league at that stage!

And what was that about gehrig not kicking many goals subby? Six not enough for you!
Subtemperate
If you reread, I think I said that gehrig wouldnt kick 10...lol

Oh well, Leon Davis today has been found to have a broken wrist....

sad.gif
AztecInca
Poor, poor Collingwood!
Well you only have Essendon this week and judging by their recent form even without Buckley and Rocca you should be able to win.
Subtemperate
lol....Yes, but they have players who can play better.... I dont think ours can rise that much. We need Didak in that team very quickly to even have a chance of winning a few games...
AztecInca
Well as long as you can stay with them for the first half of the game you should be ok, because we all know of the great Essendon fade away!
Subtemperate
Collingwood lead against the bulldogs till the last quarter.....
We got in front of Adelaide in the third and last quarter....
We were in front of North at Half time....

Our second halfs are not our strong point either....
AztecInca
Ah. St.kilda had that problem many times not too many seasons ago. But from my point of view Collingwood seem like a far better team from what I`ve seen of Essendons and Collingwoods matches. But with some key players you may not be able to win easily, but I`ll be backing the pies in this one.
Subtemperate
....If I hear another commentator saying how collingwood werent as good as they looked in making two grand finals, Im going to go postal. Collingwood got beaten by Brisbane, which those same commentators claim to be the best of all time, and they were the only team that beat us in the finals....Yet we are second rate, and they are the best of all time....

Stupid commentators...
AztecInca
Lol! Well at least we can see your a dedicated supporter Subby! Collingwood were indeed a good team and still are although they aren`t really showing it at the moment! And with so many good players out, its going to be extremly hard for you to win. Especially in two weeks tme when you play the mighty saints!
Subtemperate
I couldnt care less about beating the saints, if we dont win this week...and well.... then we say goodbye to the year in my book.

On the plus side...if we finish bottom...we get number one pick.... have salary to spare..... and have a few people like Leppitsch and Fevola coming out of contract......

Lose damn it....lol
AztecInca
Well I guess thats sort of looking at the bright side of things if you lose!
Subtemperate
Thats the only way I got through 1999 lol.... I spent all year chanting for collingwood to get Josh Fraser..lol
AztecInca
LOL! Now just imagine what we St.kilda supporters have been like over the years of us dwelling at the bottom of the ladder. But maybe it was actually our master plan to obatin all those draft picks. And it looks to have paid off!
Subtemperate
Yes, funny about that...lol

Youd think Fitzroy would have an all star team if they were still around...
AztecInca
LOL! Indeed they should have been, but I can still remember them beating us when we were right down the bottom with them!

Subtemperate
I hope richmond cleans your clock this week wink2.gif lol
AztecInca
HA! We have our new found confidence, Kosi and Harvey will be returning, Gehrig can actually kick goals again and we know that we are the same successful team of last year. We are about to create another winning streak. Who in Richmond can match Luke Ball or Nick Dal Santo!?!?!?
Subtemperate
Who have you got that can play on Richo, Simmonds and Stafford let alone Knobel?
AztecInca
Our defence is quite severly underrated, we may not have massive defender but we have a lot of good sized, quick skilled players. Kosi can slot right into there, as can Voss, both the clarke brothers. Hudghton etc...... Its our midfield that will kill them and our forward line should deliever the final blow!
Subtemperate
I dont think I disagree with you...
AztecInca
Why thank you Subby, but at least this year I believe Richmond will put up a much better fight and will push us for hopefully most of the game. They are a much improved team, have a new coach, are on a winning streak and are full of confidence! This could be a really good match.

I
Subtemperate
Im sure it will be, Richmond have the philosiophy that they dont care if they win or lose, they just go out and attack as much as poosible, so it should be entertaining.
AztecInca
Plus its Darren Gaspers 200th game and with Richmond losing on all his other milestone games they will want to finally give him something to celebrate.
It will be a great contest between him and Gehrig, since they both are in form and have confidence in thier abilities!
Subtemperate
No doubt.

I also think that West Coast will show Brisbane lions who's boss, and if everything goes well they may even end up last on the ladder....

heres hoping....
AztecInca
I do indeed hope so, but I still believe its too early to write off the lions, obviously they are no where near as good as they once were, but they are still a good team if they can get their act together. I `m still not convinced tat west coast are that good yet, they have always been a good team, but I find it difficult to believe that they are top of the ladder contenders. Top 4 probably but not first!
Subtemperate
Me neither, but look at the recent record of the two sides, and youll see that West Coast always seems to beat them, including a 78 point thumping at the gabba 2 years ago, if my memory serves me correctly...
AztecInca
Indeed they do have the wood over the lions as the lions seem to have over us!

The fact that West coast have so many hoem games will also work in their advantage this season with few being able to match them home. One exception to that rule is the saints, we play quite well at subiaco.
Subtemperate
True, but you could say that for every other team as well that is interstate....I think only the year before last did we have all the interstate teams in the finals, so it doesn't always work like that...
AztecInca
Indeed, but Sydney are definately looking shaky this year as our Port although they are definately missing a number of their key players. This year may be the come back of the Victorian teams.
Subtemperate
Maybe....

Sydney are looking no shakier then Brisbane, it was only a week and a bit ago they beat them up there.....

Port are the shakiest, but due to injury....
AztecInca
And now they are in an even worse position after going down to the cats who have finally broken their travelling hoodoo.
What about in the last 10 seconds when it looked like the port player was pushed in the back, do you think it should have been paid subby?
Subtemperate
I didnt see it.....

From all accounts it looked like a free kick, but hey..... you have to live with the bad decsions, or non decisions sometimes.... Im sure Geelong got some in the backs that weren't there....

AztecInca
True true, but since it was at such a critical time of the match and could of theortically won the match for the power it will be given far more coverage then it deserves.
Watching the fans boo off the umpires was funny as though!
Subtemperate
Poor Port Adelaide..... lol

They only won the flag last year..... They should be pitied...... No other club ever has a bad decision cost them the game. (sarcasm lol) 1.5 wins from 5 weeks shows just what i think of their mental toughnes, even if they have a few injuries.....
AztecInca
Good point. They were the dominant team of last year and the premiers even with a few key players sidelined with injuries tehy should be in a far better position then they are.

Its good to see that St.kilda are finally become mentally tougher and slowly but steadily physically tougher. If we can actually win games with key players missing like last week then we are maturing but we need to learn how to win when Gehrig isn`t playing his best, we cant rely on him totally.
AztecInca
Well the Demons are back, with a scrappy but comfortable win over the swans who are starting to look like they are in a bit of trouble.
The mighty doggies were actually mighty onec again with a 9 goal third quarter which set them up for a massive win over the crows which is what we want to see.
And Fremantle just managed toget over the line against the blues in a very unconvincing win on home soil.

Now I`m off to the footy later to watch the mighty Saints down the in form tigers!
Subtemperate
The demons were away? From memory they were with you till the last quarter last week, before you went on a rampage.....
Subtemperate
I would like to send my condolences.... to all those following the brisbane lions.

4 losses out of 5 games, the king is dead......
AztecInca
He, he, he! Its great isn`t it, watching the lions fall apart after dominating for soooo long. And then go to thy footy and watching St.Kilda demolish thy Tigers by 68 points and move into 4th place on thye ladder.
Little Milne kicked 5 goals, what a game for the little guy, it was one of his best ever for the mighty saints!
Subtemperate
I agree with you. He was great, and I would have to say thats the best game hes played... not that I watched a lot of that game, as I had the TV taken from me.

Now for my anzac day tradition, watching collingwood lose....
AztecInca
C`mon you should be able to beat the bombers, although thet aren`t as affecetd by injury as collingwood. They are just lacking in talent and ability compared to you.
Its next week you have to worry about Subby, you have the mighty saints to contend with you are on a rool and may decide to bring back Reiwoldt although its only a small chance. Powell will be back though.

What happened to your tv?
Subtemperate
It was taken from me in the reasoning that online Halo2 needed to be played, whilst I was out of the room......

Tis alright I spent the time talking to someone special.... So I didnt mind too much original.gif

Anyhow, whilst collingwodd easily have a better midfield, and a better backline then the bombers..... They only have to get half of the ball to kick a winning score, due to the fact we will be going in without a working forward line..... They may surprise me but I doubt it.....

The inclusions of Ty Zantuck and Dean Rioli for Essendon are also pretty huge...
Subtemperate
And once again, Collingwood do well to prove me accurate....

It wasn't the worst loss ever though..... I saw a few big positives, including Travis Clokes first game.... as well as Rhys Shaws game..... And our defeense was awesome, Presti hardly let lloyd get a sniff, nor did Maxwell let lucas into the game...

Tis a pity we just didnt have a forward who could kick goals....
AztecInca
Travis Cloke played very well indeed and looks like being a key player in years to come for the magpies, but sadly without so many key players at the moment the poor maggies are going to struggle for quite a while to come.
Next week will indeed be very interesting................
Subtemperate
If we somehow beat you Id die laughing...lol

Collingwood are about to play some kids.... I am actually looking forward to loosing this week...
AztecInca
It will be good to see some of Collingwood`s young players get a go, some of them may be future superstars of the game.
Too bad they wont get to go up against Reiwoldt, due to Thomas wanting to rest him for another week so he can be rearing to go aginst the mighty cats.
Subtemperate
Look for the young man rusling.....

He is an absolute speed machine... grin2.gif
AztecInca
I will keep a look out for this supposed speed machine although I doubt Collingwood will be getting much of the football anyway. If he plays in your back line them I sure I `ll be seeing him all afternoon!
Watch out for our little speed machine Aussie Jones as the MCG is his favourite ground and he is currently back playing his best footy!
Subtemperate
Pffft to you...lol

Tis easy to play good footy, if you dont pick up a man all day wink2.gif
AztecInca
True true! Good old Peckett basically was ignored by richmond and was all over the ground getting many possessions!
Its official though, Reiwoldt wont play this week, he will rest for one more week then line up against the cats!
