Kismit
When are the finals then?
Subtemperate
Well..its round 10 this wekk in a 22 round season....So the answer is september original.gif lol
Kismit
That's what I thought.

Shoot! I hope no Mods come in and smite us for chatting... ph34r.gif
Subtemperate
Im looking forward to this week.... Mr Rusling finally gets his debut for the pies.....

A forward who at 189cm, 84kg.... can run 100m in 10.65 seconds.....

My eyes will be glued to the tv.... grin2.gif
AztecInca
You do that Subby, I`m sure that one win against the eagles has got you all fired up and full of confidence in your team once again.

Geez 10.65 seconds for 100 metres is damn fast, this kid sure does have some pace, he may give you that bit extra to take down the all of a sudden might hawks.
Subtemperate
He didnt get to open up and run much.... looked like a kid playing his first game...lol

I was happy with the way they went about it yesterday.....

And seriously, if James Clement isn't the best half back in the comp right now then.... I think something is amiss...
Wonder Woman
Wasmt that broken leg sick!!! It almost made me vomit watching it. Sorry, not into footy but who was the player?
Subtemperate
Nathan Brown from richmond....

yeah i must admit I even teared p seeing it, it was very very upsetting visually and stuff.....

Not to mention he is one of the best players in the game....
AztecInca
It was indeed a very sickening incident and seeing his leg at that angle wasn`t the nicest thing I`ve ever seen. Hopefully he recovers fully and is back playing footy next season.

Well the mighty saints are finally back, after taking their sweet time and are starting to look a little like the side from last year, with Hamill, Penny, Kosi and Harvey still to return (at least Hamil and Penny should make it back this week) we still have quite a bit of improving to go. Cant wait!!!!

Bloody Sydney play the worst type of football imaginable, its just so damn boring and its not going to get them anywhere near the top of the ladder anytime soon.
Subtemperate
well.... Collingwood are off the bottom... and I have mixed feelings about that...lol

Same amount of wins as Bris..... Only half a game behind port...... With our best players missing still......

If we win a couple of the next 3..... Who knows...... (ok...we play geelong then melbourne the next 2 weeks, so highly doubtful)
AztecInca
Ah Subby you have got to believe, you must dream of Collingwood succeeding against all the odds, although it didn`t really work for me when we were down at the bottom of the ladder for sooooo many bloody years.

Hopefully Port are so demoralised by their horriffic loss and with a couple of their players injuring thmselves against West Coast, we will just run over the top of them, we really need to win this one and get a few on a trot to gather momentum for the rest of the year and get that lucrative top 4 spot.
Subtemperate
St Kilda better win..... I might even have a personal funeral for Port Adelaides premiership chances at my home.....

Collingwood on the other hand, if manage to fluke a win against geelong tonight (which i doubt) are actually in the running.....

And congrats to Travis CLoke on the rising star nomination this week, he is certainly going to be a gun for us original.gif
AztecInca
Well you`ll be nice and happy now Subby, with such a good win over one of the main contendors for the premiership and now only a game or two outside the eight. Blast Collingwood and their winning against the odds, tipsters still haven`t had a fair round yet.

I can see Travis cloke having a very bright future and his brother Cameron they played quite well last night.

Let us both hope St.kilda win, we really need to keep our momentum going and consolodate our position in the eight, the competition is still way too close for comfort.
Subtemperate
I was blown away at half time... Collingwood were up by 43 points.... I couldn't beleive it..... If collingwood can somehow do it one more week in a row and beat melbourne.... then they will be 5/7 and knocking on the door.... with Buckly about to return....

And yes, both clokes were good... as were many of our other players. Dane Swan has been fantastic since he got into the team this year....
AztecInca
Indeed, blast buckley and thw effect he will have on Collingwood when he returns especially if you are wining!

The competition is still way too close, the only team you can really feel secure is West coast at the moment, with that two game buffer over adelaide who are in second place. If we win today we can jump up to sixth place, but there are still so mant teams that are only 1 or 2 games behind us that make it really easy for just about any team to make it to the finals. Except Carlton, they have absolutely no hope in my opinion.
Subtemperate
Oh St Kilda, you shame us..... How could you let Port win a match....

And... Collingwood.... not far from 8. Please beat melbourne... oh please oh please....
AztecInca
I know Subby, I know, we should have won that match we kicked around 14 behinds in the second half and only about 5 goals. We clearly dominated that half but sadly couldn`t kick accurately enough. Thankfully are next four matches are all down in melbourne against struggling sides, so hopefully we can win all them and get back out form from last year. Anyway, we have to keep above Collingwood or I`ll never hear the end of it from the Collingwood supporters I know!
Subtemperate
Nor should you.....

Collingwood was the worst team in the league supposedly 3 weeks ago, whilst St Kilda was listed as one of 3 teams in the hunt for the flag.....

Only one win seperates them now....
Dowdy
WHAT ABOUT ESSENDON!

Worst performance i have ever seen in AFL. I don't know if that old fart coach should retire (although he probably is/was one of the best coaches in the game)or the fact that they now have so many veterans that they all lose their fitness in the last quarters

How can they get beaten by that much!!
AztecInca
^Well I really don`t think the coach is the problem, its your players, the ones that do have skills seem only to use them every couple of matches and even then they wont win by much. I do believe Essendon needs so new blood and talent in their side. Damn! I cant talk that much actually, with all our new blood and talent we dont seem to be going anywhere at the moment, bloody St.kilda................."sigh".......
Subtemperate
Essendon for too long has relied pretty much solely on Hird and Lloyd. Lucas has been good too, but the other two were essendon for the last few years..... Hird is past his prime, and can only last a few more years, whereas lloyd is out of form. I can't see hird getting any better, apart from maybe one or two games this year... Lloyd can improve but Im not sure he will.....

I would be looking at some trading at the end of the year if I was essendon...
AztecInca
Hird was a great player once, but as Subby said he is way past his prime, hes now over ratted and Essendon rely upon him too much, even when he plays only a decent game and there are other players who played better then him he still manages to get three points, it just boggles the mind. Although he does have the capacity to lift his side when he plays his best footy.
Subtemperate
I wouldn't say he's over rated... His rating is there for his past performances.... So its correct, however he will no longer be able to do that... So thinking he is going to now is more just misjudgement then overrating.....

He has been one of the best players over the last ten years.... he is now becoming slowly a slightly above average player....
AztecInca
Just like Robert Harevy, although against Port he was really showing his age, but then again he had missed the past 4 weeks with injury. Sadly I do believe this will be his last year and I seriously doubt we can send him off the way he deserves with a prmeiership, but there is still half a season left and we have the talent and capability, we may still make it yet. yes.gif
tigger
here's something not for the squeamish..

its 'that break' from the Melbourne V Richmond game a couple of weeks ago..
i think the second pic is priceless.. you can almost see "what tha.." coming out of the guy that is kneeling
Dowdy
I just hate that pic! I haven't seen that first pic before - imagine the skin ripped and the bone popped out. AHHHHHHH!!! crying.gif
Subtemperate
Tigger are you trying to make me cry? crying.gif

AztecInca
Subby just imagine that happening to Buckley in his return game against Sydeny in a couple of weeks, that would trully be something to cry about, even I would feel bad for him, he deserves an injury free season for once.
Subtemperate
I will not imagine that happening to buckley.......

I will not imagine it happening to anyone......

Buckley's return game is only a week or two away, so soon we shall see if he can ever get back....
AztecInca
Well he was named in your 25 man squad for this weeks upcoming match againstg the Demons, so maybe he will make a surprise appearance although I doubt it, its probably just mind games to get at the demons, who will know too well what affect the return of Buckley will have on the Pies.
Subtemperate
I dont want him to play.... seriously, he wouldnt be able to run out the game, and playing the demons we need fit people.

Ryan Lonie is my pick to come into the team, there aren't many more people more damaging then him when hes in form, and he hasn't been bad for williamstown lately...
AztecInca
Indeed, giving him another week or two would probably be a good idea.

West Coast were looking a bit shaking last night and since it was only against the Bombers at Subiaco they are no longer looking as invincible as before. If the saints had, had a full team against them up there we would have nearly had that match, it would have at leats been a damn sight closer, for a large part of that game we dominated but we just couldn`t score. I just cant see the eagles winning the premiership, they will easily make the top 4 but I doubt they will lay claim to spetember glory.

Subtemperate
Yes, but you have to take into account the rain conditions, which they are not used to playing in. If it were dry they would have murdered the bombers.....

Do remember this team beat port by 117 points, whereas St Kilda lost to them.... wink2.gif lol

AztecInca
^U have a good point there Subby, but then again if they are supposed to be the best team in the league they should be easily able to deal with any weather conditions.

Good to see St.kilda are back on track with that comfortable win over the Hawks and our backline deserves a pat on the back for their efforts, they performed tremendously. Still we should have won by more with Gehrig kicking 6 goals and 6 behinds, with most of his behinds being shots he should have kicked. Plus easing off in the last quarter wasn`t a good idea, we need percentage with the competition being so close, many positions may well be decided by percentage at the end of the year.
Subtemperate

No not really.... essendon of 2000 didnt have to win in heavy rain..... They themselvs still can't play in it....lol

If they aren't number one, after only losing one game so far, then who would you class as being number one?
AztecInca
I`m quite sick so I`m not really thinking straight, so sorry if I just start to ramble. West Coast are indeed a great side and I would bet will most likely finish with Top spot since basically all their remaining games are at Subiaco, but I myself, this is only my opinion cant see them winning the flag, they can win easily at home and so far away from home except for one match, but a lot of teams this season have been seriosuly hampered by injuries especially St.kilda and Collingwood. And yet Collingwood beat them. We didn`t but we scared them and if we had, actually had some goal scoring optiosn may have been put them away by a goal or point.
To me Adelaide or Melbourne is my pick for September Glory, although St.Kilda should come back a bit with our strongest 22 just about running out after the break. At the moment West Coast are number one, but I just cant see them there in that one wekend in September.
Subtemperate
Adelaide are up and down...... Melbourne arent much better.......

While i would think they have a better team balance then West Coast, west coast's better players are miles ahead of the other two.....

AztecInca
Melbourne are looking quite good after their performance yesterday Subby, that final 7 goal to 2 last quarter was quite impressive. They only stumbles briefly this year, we inflicted a massive loss on them( I feel proud, lol) but it didn`t take them long to bounce back and if they keep this up they will definately finish top 4.

I don`t want to wait soooo long to see St.kilda play again, Hamill and Kosi are returning, maybe even Penny and we have momentum after that win against Hawthron. We may finally be able to string along a sequence of wins, with quite a few winnable games coming up.
AztecInca
Well Subby, Buckley has been named in the side for the match against Sydney and it looks like he`s a dead certainty to play, lets hope its an injury free match.

Why exactly do they have a split round where 6 matches are played one week and 2 the next week?! Couldn`t they just have 4 in the first week and 4 in the second week?
Subtemperate
I cant answer that.... they should just bite the bullet and vring back state of origin......

Nathan Buckley playing for williamstown....lol.... wont they have a huge boost in their talent stocks.
AztecInca
Indeed, I enjoyed watching State of Origin, they should bring it back.

Good to see that the favourites are winning the footy once again, with bloody Port thrashing Hawthron by over 100 points last night, it was just embarassing to watch after half time. Now Port has pushed us out of the eight but when we play our match next week we should win and jump right back up there and hopefully Richmond and the Roos both lose, getting us even on wins and points with them.
AztecInca
Subby I`m sure you will be monitoring with great importance the performance of Bucks today for Williamstown. It will probably be packed, now that is indeed a rare occassion ofr a VFL game these days.

I thoroughly enjoyed watching Adelaide demolish Richmond last night, it opens up a path for us to jump above them and if Sydney and the roos lose and we win we can jump up 4 places to 5th on the ladder. But first we must win and hopefully we dont underestimate the bombers as Australia did against Bangladesh last night. LOL!
Subtemperate
Im quite ill at the moment, so im not monitoring buckley nearly as well as I should be......

Yes although i am dissapointed with geelongs loss, everything else was as expected really this week.
AztecInca
Tis not good to hear Subby, I hope you get well soon.

I always though Brisbane would beat Geelong, it was at home, they had a few players reaching milestones and they were back in form, while teh cats have been looking quite shaking of late. I had expected fremantle to win, since it was their home game but once again they fell apart when they should have won.
Subtemperate
Fremantle are about as consistant as swearing at a bible study group.....

There list is so good..... and they keep losing, although how good it is to hear supporters (on radio) blame injuries....
AztecInca
.........yes, although we St.kilda supporters keep using that excuse! lol!

Well Dal Santo has resigned and Kosi and Frasier are in talks at the moment so hopefully we can keep all our players together for another couple of years, so we can finally taste that September glory.
Subtemperate
If collingwood win against sydney, and somehow over brisbane the week after... then I hold out some hope of finals... Until then, bah to finals this year...lol
AztecInca
Thats a postive attitude there Subby, either you make the finals and have a shot at september glory or you miss out and go for draft picks, it is indeed a great attitude. Thats ususally St.Kilda`s attitude although we are becoming more confident finally.

If we win tonight, which we must to get back in the eight, it could really get us on a roll with a couple of winnable games coming up, a top 4 position is not out of the question yet.
Subtemperate
Well, essendon just rained on your parade....

I did not see that coming.... huh.gif
AztecInca
Neither did I and I am greatly dissapointed, but we aren`t out of it yet and Hamill and Kosi should come back next week, but losing to Essendon has really made things a whole lot harder for us to make the finals.

Essendon did look the far superior side for most of the match, what has happened to the St.Kilda of last year?!
