Yes, but they tryied their best... so I wont complain. Our future is bright, maybe not this year, but certainly the next couple....

And Buckley is an absolute champion of champions..... 3 months off and then 28 touches in 2.5 quarters

AztecInca
Indeed, it was a good performance and I even found myself barracking for Collingwood, although it did feel so very very wrong! lol!

I wouldn`t count out any teams beside Carlton and Hawthron at this point, the competition is still so close and it only takes a team in the position of St.kilda or Port to win a few in a row and they can be right up there. Remember when Adelaide won the grand final against us in 1997 at this point of the year they were only 6-7 as we are, and we still dont have our full team out there. Hopefully as the Sun stated this will be our wake-up call!
Subtemperate
St Kilda have won 48% of their games since that 10 game winning streak last year...... So obviously they need to improve a lot to have a run at the premiership.....

Collingwood however won't have the ability to attack the premiership till next year.... Oh my how I wait for next year...

Didak Tarrant Rusling

T.Cloke Rocca Caracella

that makes me very very excited....
AztecInca
Shush u!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have the talent and ability to beat any team in the league, but until we get our full side out there and Grant thomas kicks their arses into gear, as u said we have a long way too go, but we shall be there when it comes to finals and if Harvey is to retire, we will go our with a bang!
Subtemperate
Collingwood could say the same thing.... if we ever get our best side on the park...lol

But im sure St's will make the finals.... and the finals will be very even, anyone could win them at this rate...
AztecInca
I agree, besides the Eagles who have that nice buffer over the rest of the competition, its just way too hard to say who will make the finals let alone who will win the Grand final.
Subtemperate
Adelaide is the interesting one.... who knows what they can do..... They have played some great football, and some horrible football....

At the moment The Eagles have the edge... since only that great team collingwood has beaten them wink2.gif lol
AztecInca
Ah yes, that all powerful Collingwood with 4 wins, but then again, one was against the mighty Eagles and no other team this year can boast that.

Whats with Malthouse trying to draw attention away from only winning 4 games this year, by having a go at thd time keepers, 12 seconds wouldn`t have changed anything!
Subtemperate
Ummm yes it could of..... we manned up they had to kick to a contest from the back pocket..... You can score a goal from one end to the other in that time....
AztecInca
Yes its a possibility, but seriously doubtful.

Its become quite apparent that Malthouse is one of the biggest whingers I`ve ever seen, I`m not saying he wasn`t justified in some of the cases, but every week hes either attacking someone or whinging about something else, probably just to get the attention away from his clubs position on the ladder. Theres always next year!
Subtemperate
Well... when your team becomes as popular as ours, your coach wiill be asked his opinion too. And if he is as decent as Malthouse, he will give his opinion.

malthouse comments no more often then Leigh Matthews..... Is matthews a whinger? Terry Wallace also is outspoken, as is Kevin Sheedy and Dennis Pagan.......

If St Kilda had 14 seconds taken away from them, and they lost a final by a kick....... and the ball was still in St Kilda's forwardline.... I guarantee you Grant Thomas would also speak out.

The AFL stood the people down, so obviously it was some sort of big deal...
AztecInca
Yeah, you are probably right, I just like having a go at Collingwood!

Please beat Port, its down here at Telstra dome, so you have a chance, we just cant let them get 6 points in fornt of us, it would eman that they would have to lose two while we win two, for us to go above them.
The Bulldogs is a crunch match for us and we have to win, there i no option of losing, this is it, if we really want to make that top 4, from now on we have to play every game as if its a grand final. They can do it, all they need is belief in themselves!
Subtemperate
Don't worry, we will do our best to beat Port. We hate them so it is true!

In fact I can see us beating them...... If we play at our best yes.gif
AztecInca
Well If you can beat The Eagles down here, then Port should be absolutely no problem for you.........................
Subtemperate
Good Point.

We always match up well against Port, and with the hopeful addition of Fraser and Ben Johnson we will be almost full strength, minus of course Rocca.....

Did I mention I nominate Clement for Backman of the year yes.gif

St Kilda should beat the dogs, the dogs seemingly are up and down and the Sts should have something to prove this week.
AztecInca
Indeed, although I would nominate Hudgton for Backman of the year, form wise, this has been his best year ever and out of 13 matches he has only been beaten three times, he has held the best goalkickers in the league to 1 or two goals, even none a couple of times. He may not be that big, but he sure is talented.

To right we have somthing to prove, we should have won last week and nobody really believe we are a contender anymore, its time for us to step up, with Hamill back and just about a full strength side, we will be hard to stop!
Subtemperate
Well the person I feel sorry for the most at my club right now is Woewodin. Again he was dropped....

This guy was 2nd in our best and fairest last year. When we were at our worst, he was one who put in every week. He started ok this year, and then had one really bad game, to which he was dropped. Then he got injured and gets in and out of the side..... He certainly is a good player... But they played him in the forward pocket for gods sake, hes a midfeilder..... What do they expect. Seems to me they are creating a scapegoat.
AztecInca
Indeed, I never thought he was that bad, to be constantly dropped. When he does play well though, he ceratinly plays well and has an obvious impact on the game.

I feel sorry for Grant Thomas at the moment, no one has really accepted him as a good coach even though he got us to the preliminary final last year as well as the Wizard cup win. Evryone accepts us to be near the top and going for that elusive premiership but as Thomas says we have only had one year of finals experience, most of our players have barely played 50 games, it may take a little longer before we win that premiership.

It better not bloody take too long though!
Subtemperate
Well, collingwood did their bit and beat Port. twas a good win, but the kicking for goal was horrible... especially since it was at the dome...
AztecInca
Indeed, why did both teams miss so many times, there was no wind or any type of weather conditions to compete with, besides the cold.
Doesn`t really matter now, Collingwood won and thats exactly what the saints needed, it means if we win we can jump straight above them!
Subtemperate
How typical of St Kilda to rely on another team for help wink2.gif

Also how typical of collingwood to put a spanner in the works for Port Adelaide yes.gif
AztecInca
Shush u Subby, we will take whatever help we can get as you would to in our position.

Damn Brisbane and their resurgence, now for us to make the eight not only do we have to win but it has to be by more than what Brisbane won by last night, because our percenatge was just about equal before this round. Well Lets hope Gehrig can kick around 12 with Reiwoldt chipping in with 6 and little Milne with 4. lol!
Subtemperate
Well...you did win... But I doubt it was good for you, losing Riewoldt again.... and Hamill still not back.

St kilda may struggle now to get a roll on for the rest of the year.
AztecInca
Indeed Subby I fear you are correct, although after the match when Reiwoldt was presented with the plate he looked fine and his arm was moving about with no problems. Thankfully we are playing Carlton next week and with no Harvey, Hamill or Reiwoldt it may be damn hard, even Gerigh may miss if hes suspended. We could be in a whole lot of trouble, but then again, a lot of our other players stepped up against the Bulldogs and that does give me a bit of hope. For once we had many goalkickers with Gehrig only getting 4 and finally Kosi stepped up, its now up to him to step in for the missing Reiwoldt.

If we ever get a full side out there this year Subby, we will be a force to be reckoned with and when finals coem around we will be there and no one better underestimate us, many will have no true understanding of what affect Harvey`s possible departure may have on teh boys, he deserves that premiership and I`ll be damned if he misses out on it.
Subtemperate
WEll, Nick may have looked fine after the match... but today they fear he may miss the rest of the season.....

That in itself is a huge problem for you to overcome.
AztecInca
Sigh, How unlucky can one side be with injuries, we haven`t had our full strength team out there once this year, its just becoming unbelievable. At least the G-train wasn`t sent to the tribunal, so he`ll still be up there in the forward line for us.
Subtemperate
Try having your team not at full strength for 2 years, and then give me a call for sympathy wink2.gif lol
AztecInca
^But Subby, with a full team we could actually win the premiership, Collingwood doesn`t have that problem, we are expected to win and we bloody well are barely doing it, with sooooo many TALENTED players out!
Subtemperate
And so could we. With our full team in we have got a lot closer then you so far....lol
AztecInca
True, but losing two grand finals in a row would hurt more tham missing out on the grand final or missing the finals, Collingwood have always been a successful team and sadly St.kilda hasn`t, the premiership count of both teams speak for itself.
Subtemperate
Yes. At least Collingwood will now get to play the saints without Hamill and Riewoldt devil.gif
AztecInca
Hamill may be back in time for that match, he will probably only miss 2 and that would mean he will be back for that match, I`m hoping so anyway.
Gehrig who just seriosuly his thumb will play on with an arm guard for the rest of the season, I don`t know what we would have done without him, Hamill and Reiwoldt, it would have been catastrophic for the club.
Subtemperate
Yes I can't imagine how bad that would be for you....

But in saying that, we will have to see how you go this week....
AztecInca
Well thankfully its Carlton and not a team like West Coast or the resurgent Lions, but I doubt Carlton will just roll over for us, with a number of key players out it will test us more than many will think.
This gives Kosi and a number of the young guns to teh opportunity to step up and lead the way !
Subtemperate
Well... tonight will be interesting. While i expect collingwood to lose, I expect them to take it to the lions.... because we have a lot to prove to them....
AztecInca
Well Hopefully you do win, we need the Lions to lose for us to jump into the eight or we could just win by about 100 points, but with a number of players still out I just dont see that happening even against the Blues.
Subtemperate
Obviously I hope we win too, in fact I hope we win each of the next 3 games wink2.gif
AztecInca
^Well Subby the magpies are off to a horrible start, while the Saints got a nice percentage boost which will really help us when it comes down to a position in the top 8. All we have to do is beat Richmond next week and we are in!
Subtemperate
Pffft to you...lol

Yes, Collingwood went to brisbane in the attempt to see if our little league was any good. And it wasn't lol.

Im just hoping they can build some more before the end of the year... as next year is looking quite the year for us.....
AztecInca
Well as Pointing warned the Poms about the the Aussie side so do I officially warn the entire Afl about the Saints, Here we come!
Now that I`ve said that they will probably come out and get beaten by the Tigers next week just to spite me! lol!
Subtemperate
Heres hoping that the tigers wipe the floor with you wink2.gif

In saying that St Kilda is a far better side, when they have all the cattle on the park.
AztecInca
^Indeed, we are a better side and if we had a full strength side available we could crush them, but like every round this year we dont and the match may well be quite close, unless Kosi and Ackland step up again.
Bacchus
gee haven't been here for a while, just wanna add my 2 cents original.gif

GO CROWS! thumbsup.gif
AztecInca
^Bah, they were looking damn good but after the last two weeks, they have fallen back into the pack a bit and unless they can really get back to playing as well as they were they may struggle for a good spot in the eight, the Mighty Saints and the Lions are now chgarging towards the finals and it will take a damn lot to stop them!
Bacchus
huh.gif are you talking about the same crows team that's won their last 3 and are currently outright second on the ladder?? rofl.gif
Subtemperate
I think he may be reffering to the fact, that Adelaide are currently JUST getting over the teams that are basically bottom of the ladder (hawthorn and fremantle)... Whereas the other teams seems to be excelerating......

The test will be if Adelaide can raise a gear when playing better teams now yes.gif
Bacchus
ah ok original.gif
AztecInca
^lol, sorry if I wasn`t clear enough, Subby sumed it up perfectly, they had been playing superbly but of late, but have just managed to hold onto the game against teams who they should easily beat.

Poor Subby, the magpies go down again, but at least they fought all the way through and if next year you will have something to look forward to if you can get a full team on the field!
Subtemperate
I went to the match last night, and it must have looked like they tried harder on TV. The only played ok for one quarter, and lost by 4 goals.... Doesnt say much for the bombers who had to kick extremely accurate.....

I cant wait for next year myself......
