Indeed, with your full side out there you do believe you would have easily accounted for the Bombers, how they managed to beat the Saints is just beyond me!!!!!

Jul 16 2005, 09:10 AM
Me too.....
I am expecting that next week you shall win like you did today, in fact another percentage booster it will be
AztecInca
Jul 17 2005, 05:06 AM
Indeed, percentage will play a big role in where teams finish within the eight this year with it being so close so lets hope the Saints can do it again and hopefully Kosi can again increase his goal tall by 1 as it was 3 against the Dogs, 4 against the Blues and 5 against the Tigers, so hopefully it will be 6 against the Mapies.
And to think we dont even have our full strength side out there yet.........
Subtemperate
Jul 17 2005, 02:43 PM
I hope to the football gods our crappy team manages to beat your saints.......
We did it against West Coast, Geelong, Port Adelaide...... I hope we can play that way once again....

Subby, Subby, Subby, you must face facts St.kilda will defeat the Pies this week, they finally have a nice streak of wins under their belt with a new found confidence in their abilities as well, the Pies may not be thrashed but they have no chance of stopping the Saints of marching to 4 points this Friday!

If you win, its to be expected.... If we win, you'll never hear the end of it... lol
AztecInca
Jul 20 2005, 01:17 AM
^Too true, this is a match that just can`t be lost, not only do we need to keep our run of wins going to make the top 4 and stay in the eight but more importantly make sure that you Collingwood supporters cant heckle us, I would never hear the end of it from the people at school!
Subtemperate
Jul 20 2005, 11:49 AM
And nor should you lol
Listening to Grant thomas on the radio tonight gives me the impression Hamill, Harvey and Riewoldt are still not oging to play this week... even with all this speculation.....
AztecInca
Jul 21 2005, 06:39 AM
Of course not, would you really risk them when they just keep on injuring themselves over and over, they need as long as possible to recover, although I would love to see them back as soon as possible, but for once I am being realistic.
Subtemperate
Jul 23 2005, 06:06 AM
.... If you dont need them...could we have them...please? lol
picks pick picks picks picks...... Oh dear lord let us not win another game this year....
oh... we play carlton...and fremantle in melbourne.... We could be in trouble.
AztecInca
Jul 23 2005, 06:09 AM
^lol, tis quite a sight when one of the oldest and most successful teams gets absolutely thumped by one of the teams who have barely tasted any succees. This year could finally be our year, we have timed our run perfectly and with players still to return, hopefully we can keep it up!

Jul 23 2005, 06:14 AM
Hopefully Collingwood can steal some of your players....

Jul 23 2005, 06:23 AM
Never, they know they have a chance at premiership glory with the Saints, unlike the Magpies who are hitting new lows!
Subtemperate
Jul 23 2005, 06:26 AM
Pffft.... new lows? We arent on the bottom where we have been before... how can we be reaching new lows? lol
We were missing:
Fraser, Rocca, Richards, Cloke, Cloke, Presitigiacomo......
6 men all over 6'4 from our best 22. Take out your best 6 big men......
Kosi, Rie, Ger, Ackland, Penny and your centre half back fellow..... All from the one team.... and tell me how well you'd play?
AztecInca
Jul 23 2005, 06:34 AM
We would play well ''short" of our best I would say!
Subtemperate
Jul 24 2005, 02:15 AM
Just remember that when picking on our form

Anyhow, I am hoping Fremantle and Melbourne have a nil all draw today... neither of them deserve a win lol
AztecInca
Jul 25 2005, 03:40 AM
^lol, well I would rather see Fremantle win as they did, making it easier for the teams in the eight, i.e. the Mighty Saints to stay in there even if we drop a match which hopefully we wont for awhile with most of our '"big name" injured players set to come back finally, except Hamill, who will probably need another week.
Subtemperate
Jul 26 2005, 03:32 AM
This week Melbourne vs the Saints will be very interesting. Since the saints have just played all the dud tams, it will be interesting to see where melbourne are at....
AztecInca
Jul 26 2005, 07:25 AM
^Well Melbourne cant afford to lose this one, if they do their season just gets way too close to being over, they will want this win desperately but as they are trying to avoid their sixth staright loss we are looking for our fifth staright win and that second place on the ladder. We have Hamill, Reiwoldt and Harvs coming back and that alone will give us an enourmous boost and with having already beaten the Demons this season we will know we can do it again!
Its time for us to show why we were the pre-season favourite to win the Grand final this year!
AztecInca
Jul 29 2005, 06:32 AM
Well it is official, Hamill, Penny, Reiwoldt and Harvey will all line up for us against the Demons this weekend and with all those quality players coming back plus all our other players playing so well you would think we should win!
Can Collingwood stand up and win this match for Buckley`s 250th or will it be a repeat of the match played earlier this year?!?!!?!?
Subtemperate
Jul 29 2005, 09:59 AM
It wont be a repeat.... It will be interesting to see how they go, with our 9th first year player getting a game for the year.....
AztecInca
Jul 30 2005, 06:21 AM
9 eh?!?! Well at least you are trully preparing for the future and will be a team, to be reckoned with........ eventually, just like the mighty Saints who are currently annihilating the Demons!
Subtemperate
Jul 30 2005, 06:38 PM
Yes, the saints look top notch right now.....
I hope you finish forth, and beat the eagles....lol
AztecInca
Jul 31 2005, 01:10 AM
Well now we are in 3rd spot Subby, with our percentage getting closer and closer to the top 2 sides and we are the only team in history to win 4 games in a row by over 10 goals and we have done it twice now, once this year and once in 2003!
Subtemperate
Jul 31 2005, 01:59 PM
Pfffft..... Who cares, I care once you win the premiership

I think you are favourites now, you are in awesome form..... But we shall have to wait and see....
Collingwood could still finish bottom, so I live in hope....lol
AztecInca
Aug 1 2005, 04:11 AM
Lol, well Carlton just won and Hawthron can sometimes play quite well, you never knwo subby, it may just happen!
Favourites are we?.....Well we have one 5 in a row now and with all our key players now back in the side we will be right amongst it in September, but we do have a few tough matches coming up and they will be the key for a top 4 spot!
Subtemperate
Aug 1 2005, 06:38 AM
I was saddened to see Ryan Lonie go down for us, it took him half the year to get back into our team, and someone with his talent will be missed, most likely the start of next year

And if you can watch the collingwood fremantle match, and come away saying Chris tarrant gets a fair go from the umpires.... Your not from this planet.... lol
AztecInca
Aug 2 2005, 06:36 AM
^Indeed, as Malthouse pointed out there was actually three sides on the field, two having it in for Collingwood and especially Tarrant, who is just a tad frustrated at the moment as is Malthouse and Eddie and their supporters..............but not the rest of the AFL community!
Subtemperate
Aug 2 2005, 08:35 AM
THats not what sydeny said last year about Barry Hall..... Nor Melbourne with David Neitz, nor Essendon with Matthew Lloyd....
Tarrant, as a leading forward has received only 9 frees in 17 weeks..... Half a free kick a week. Riewoldt in his few weeks hes manages has 17.... Barry Hall 24..... Matthew Lloyd 20.....
Tarrant for some reason umpires know he's too quick, so allow defenders the option of holding onto him more... or so it would seem.
AztecInca
Aug 3 2005, 04:38 AM
True, but that was last year and now many are happy to see Collingwood dangerously close to the bottom and being picked on by the umpires!!!
Subby you are leaving our fine shores so soon, how are you going to follow the footy?

^lol, well thats a relief, I`m not sure how I would cope leaving while St.kilda are doing well, but luckily I dont have to worry about that and anyway Collingwood still need a year or two to come good so you wont miss that much.........

Unlike supporters of other teams *cough* st kilda *cough* We collingwood supporters stick with our team and support it through the hard times......

One question for you lot.
Why the hell does the game have to stop when you catch the ball? It makes the game terminally boring.
In Gaelic Football the game just freeflows, and is five times more entertaining to watch.
Mind you, as a Rugby League supporter, I am duty bound to find the AFL as boring as hell.
Subtemperate
Aug 17 2005, 06:40 PM
For a start they are in the middle of changing the rules of "the mark" in gaelic football, as they have seen that element of our game, and embraced it.
Isnt rugby leage the game where a guy runs 5 metres.... into someone...and then gets up to pass the ball back, for someone to do the same thing?
AztecInca

So Subby, are Collingwood now just aiming for those priority picks?
Subtemperate
Aug 18 2005, 09:00 AM
Us?

I don't think they are throwing games, but they are testing out the list....
I mean we are without Rocca, Tarrant, Fraser, Cloke, Rusling and co..... so we shouldnt win even if we wanted to...

First I've heard with regards to Gaelic Football. The GAA do not embrace change. Never have done, never will do. They might adopt change for the Mickey Mouse cross code international with Australia but they are hardly going to bring in the dreaded 'mark' in the same manner as the AFL, in the real thing.
Rugby League is the game with free flowing passing movements, involving a certain amount of skill as opposed to a game that is based upon punting the ball as far as you can and hoping for the best, and stopping for a break every time you have caught the ball.

I don't normally post in this topic, but after last night's elimination final between Sydney and Geelong I just had to say "WHAT A GAME".
a goal in the dying seconds to win. OOOOhhhhhh.

Indeed, it was a great last quarter, the rest of the game wasn`t so good though and if Sydney play like that next week we shall demolish them. Although I doubt that, unless the MCG grass is watered just before the game like at the SCG!!!!!
Anyway, I believe St.kilda are going all the way this year, sending out Harvey with a premiership as he deserves.

Swans to win the flag methinks. But then again, methinks i am biased.

^Ah yes as you are from Sydney, you have now become the enemy until after the match this friday!lol.
Although I`m obvioulsy biased I just don`t see Sydeny going all the way, both finals so far they have played horribly and only a few minutes in the last quarter against the cats saved them. St.kilda just look teh better side, we have players coming back from injury, we haven`t lost at the MCG all year, beating Adelaide up in Adelaide has given us a huge boost of confidence and dont forget we wish to send out Harvey with that premiership he so badly deserves.

Who's Harvey

You're probably right. I'm really just picking Sydney because, surprise surprise, I'm from Sydney. I don't really care about AFL unless they are playing.
Though last year in this same game, the roles were reversed. Sydney was supposed to thrash St Kilda after they had the week off, so if history repeats in that fashion.............

^Ah yes, what a good match that was for the Saints, hopefully it will be a similar outcome this year.
PA, the swans didn`t even finsih in the top 4 last year so how could they have had a week off. They played us after we lost to Brisbane in the qualifying final after they had won their elimination final.
So Subby will you be supporting the Saints as they are the only Victotrian side left in the finals?

Oh, just goes to show how much I follow AFL. I only really watch it if Sydney's in it. I'm not a big fan. So yeah, sorry about the mistake - my joke on "who's Harvey" isn't too far from the truth.
But I think Barry Hall, after two quiet games, is due for a blinder.

^Indeed thats what Ive been thinking, but with our two main defenders returning from injury hopefully we can reduce his impact on the game.
