So who is everyone tipping to win the Grand Final? I am personally going for the Swans although without big, bad, bustling Barry Hall they may struggle.

West Coast.... just think they have more talent in the middle... SYdney have the better forward line... but if they do miss Hall.. they will struggle...

Barry beat the charge. Coming from a Sydney League background, I don't understand how the incident was even sent to the tribunal. If that happened in League, it'd be a little push and shove, a penalty, and then move on. End of story.

ANyhow, Sydney to win. Sydney should have won the opening match of the finals against West Coast, except for some dodgy decisions. Now West Coast don't have home ground advantage, they're gonna fall.

The tribunal even let off the West Coast player who didn`t look he had a chnace of getting off! I guess the AFL tribunal was sick of getting hate mail.........

lol! It was exactly the same over here, all we got about the eagles player was that he was up and probably wouldn`t get off. When there was about a 5 minute report on Barry getting off there was a 10 second one on the west coast player who had also gotten off......see I don`t even know his name!

Well..... im considering getting up on saturday morning at 5:30am to listen to the final...but I think Im not that much bothered ....lol

When Kosi is fully fit he will absoultely dominate. Goddard may on the other hand be someone we are willing to trade. Mcgough is indeed in trouble also. There are actually quite a few players who may get the chop at St.kilda.

In most clubs Baker would have no chance at winning the award but because of the way the scoring is done players are awarded for doing the job they are given not just playing better than everyone else. And Baker sure is good at tagging players!

Licuria has won 2 at collingwood, Kirk one or 2 at sydney, I think drew banfield hsa at west coast too.... Liberatore at Bulldogs...

Lots of taggers get awards, as they are given a job every week and generally do it, wheras the attacking players have to use flare rather then work ethic, so its harder to be as good every week.

^Meh, he was always good but he had lost that little something extra that makes you trully stand out. He will be throughly missed though not just as a great footy player but as an awesome bloke. Gehrig will play on most definately, but Thomo and Pecket I`m still unsure about, it could go either way.

Fergus Watts is a superstar, he just recently kicked 10 goals in a match. We are already having talks with Adelaide but they want a first-round draft pick for him!

.... Gehrig, Riewoldt, Hamill, Kosi.... Do you really think big forwards is your problem?

Well Gehrig will retire after this season, Riewoldt cant kick to save himself at the moment but hopefully he will be back at his best next year, but you never know. Kosi and Hamill can indeed win games for us. But Fergus Watts couls also slot into the ruck as well, giving Kosi more of a chance up forward. He`s stil quite young so its not like he would be up there kicking big bags of goals for us next year, but its good to always have a big forward in reserve even if we already have a few. lol.

I suppose what we really need the most is a big ruckman, but they aren`t very easy to get a hold of these days.

I'm glad west coast didn't win!

Well Great news for St.kilda fans, we have traded our first round draft-pick for Fergus Watts which really is quite cheap and theres a good chance he could become a superstar for us.
Gehrig has also confirmed that he will play on next year, with the contract just needing ot be finalised.

.....Just co he kicked 10 goals in a game doesnt mean he'll be good at AFL standard. Aaron James kicked 10 goals in a game once, and he ended up as dead weight for both Collingwood and Richmond.

I may have been overly excited and have exaggerated by calling him the next "superstar" but his potential could indeed be great given the right circumstances occur.

He is 6"4 and will be an option for the forward line, back line and the ruck as our secondary ruckman is only 6"2(excluding Kosi).

I think collingwood ha a problem i that they almost refuse to give away anyone with any potential. I'm glad they didn't trade didak for stevens a couple of years back, as Didak could be an absolute superstar.... but they hav gone throug the last couple of trade periods pretty much without anything. They did get caracella through the draft...but othe then that the only player we have pickd up through the trades in 3 years is Morrison...... and hes not going to get any better, in fact we may have sacked him.

Collingwood need someone with pace.... to light up the midfield, as otherwise our midfield is pretty good. ANd maybe one backup forward, in case tarrant or rocca fall over..... But our side isn't as bad as our performances over the last 2 years indicates...

I agree, I thought Collingwood underperformed this year as a result of a horrendous amount of injuries to key players. If you examine the key players at St.Kilda that were injured and for how long, its a minor miracle we got as far as we did!
I guess every club has its wish list of players they need and rarely do all our wishes come true!
