Well Judd's coming back to Victoria and although Carlton are in the box-seat he's made it clear he would rather play for a side that can make the finals next year and Carlton are at least another year or two away from that. Seven of the ten Victorian sides have confirmed they are going to have a crack at him. From what I gather Geelong and the Dogs have both ruled out chasing him with the third side being either Richmond(have stated they couldn`t do it due to salary cap limitations before he confirmed his intention to return, that might have changed now though) or St.Kilda. I don`t think we have anywhere near enough room in our salary cap or the required players(everyone's in contract) and draft picks to trade. It will be quite interesting to watch, lets hope Collingwood don`t get him.

^Bah, you are not only essentially the richest club with the greatest facilities but you also have a superb playist list, you dont need him, teams like Melbourne, Essendon, Carlton need him. And of course the Saints.

Apparenty we are going to make a big push for him although I`m not sure what we have to offer him and according to sources close to Judd he's only interested in Melbourne, Carlton, Essendon and Collingwood.

I would find it rather ironic if Carlton get him, given they are only in the garbage they are now due to cheating the rules... and it could get them the best player in australia.

I`ll probably watch both matches and just enjoy the games. The result reallly doesn`t concern me although I will no doubt be cheering for the Cats over the Pies as they failed to down the Crows when we needed them to. I would personally like to see either the Power or Roo's take out the whole thing, though I doubt the Roo's can knock off the Power and Geelong.

The Magpies supporter base has always amazed me boasting the biggest in the AFL by far for many years, so it wouldn't surprise me if we hear the roar from interstate here.
Just for the record:
Semi-finals brought the 2007 premiership attendance tally to 6,810,688, a new AFL/VFL record for a single season. It passed the previous best, 6,763,852 set in 2005, and there are still three matches in 2007 remaining.

These are the two I tipped to make the GF and I`m tipping the Power to triumph in a close one. Geelong have been superb all year and although against Collingwood they didn`t produce their best they will be incredibily tough to beat, yet I`m leaning more towards Port than the Cats. Personally I`ve never been a fan of the cats as every match I have ever gone to their fans have behaved horrifically and disgust me compared to all others, even Collingwood fans are better behaved. Anyway it should be a cracker of a GF.

It was an extremly impressive display by the Cats today. They easily and efficiently outclassed and outperformed Port in every area imaginable and were deserved winners. The trully scary thing is how young their list is and how they are more than likely to get better in the coming years. Could they be the next Brisbane?

Simple answer...No.
For reasoning, look up the ages of Scarlett, Harley, Milburn and Mooney.
Whilst I think they will still be up the top for a few years... they dominated Port Adelaide, who... just like Hawthorn... overachieved this year. In the next couple of seasons they have to contend with the other teams getting better and all....

Not talking about Collingwood there are we Subby?

Scarlett, Harley, Milburn and Mooney all have a few years left and although they are starting to get on, most of their side is very young and will only get better. The only other side I can see with a similar list is Collingwood and although they will also be up there I would still bet on the Cats over the Pies in the coming years. The Saints will probably fall apart as usual. lol.

So it now looks like Melbourne are in the box-seat for Judd. With a three-way deal netting the Eagles three draft picks and 1 or 2 players. Melbourne are willing to offer Travis Johnston to Sydney for draft picks, with Sydney then giving up Jolly to the Eagles. The Eagles would end up with up to three draft picks including both Melbourne's and Sydney's first round draft picks. If Judd nominates the Demons as his team of choice then I would say that something very similar to this proposed deal will occur.

^Yep said news has swept the media outlets down here. I`m quite dissapointed as I would have been happy to see Judd go to either the Demons or Bombers. Collingwood already have an amazingly talented list, the biggest sponsors, state-of-art facilities, massive fan-base and the greatest revenue of all clubs. To also have the nest player in the league as well is intolerable.

Carlton may still snatch him, however I`m beginning to doubt thats going to eventuate as well. Judd is calling the shots though, the Eagles have to accomodate him and trade with whoever he wishes to play for, unless they are willing to let him nominate for the pre-season draft and get nothing for him. I somehow doubt thats going to happen though.

I think the other side of it is, the eagles should do THEIR best to try and get him to the club he wants... obviously the club should get compensation, but he has given the eagles probably the best 100 - 150 games anyone has given a club, so his service to them has been immense.
...So obviously, I think he should choose collingwood...

^Sorry Subby but Judd has nominated Carlton as his team of choice, Collingwood are out of the race. However Carlton have already stated that they will not give up their Number one draft pick but are more than happy to give up the third pick. A possible deal according to the media and sources close to the Eagles is draft picks 3 and 20 as well as a player for Judd. Will be interesting indeed to see what happens.

Well West Coast have stated that they want draft picks 1, 3 and 20 as well as Western Australia born player Josh Kennedy for Judd. I find this highly amusing. Judd is easily worth pick number 1. he is the best player in the competition, and has been the most outstanding player I have seen in some time as far as performance and ability go... You know what your getting with him, most 1 draft pics don't even amount to much.
I would think maybe 1, 20 and the player... though I dont want west coast getting pick one lol
I state again, the only reason that carlton have the ability to get him, is because of sanctions imposed on them due to the salary cap breaches..... Funny how this punishment, whilst grounding them a few years, is going to net them the best player in the country...

^While that may be true he did turn the club around financialy and was responsible for 4 years worth of million dollar profits as well as presiding over three years worth of finals, which included 2 preliminary finals and a Wizard cup victory. He was no Eddie, yet he still did an extremly good job, considering the situation the club was in when he came to power. He should be remembered for that rather than the instability he caused with his relationship with Grant Thomas.

I disagree.... I think he deserves credit for turning the football club around financially, that is true.... But, to be frank, the only reason Grant Thomas got the job in the first place was their friendship. I have no doubt that he regarded St Kilda as his own private club. Eddie, ownly thinks about collingwood and how to help it... Butress has proven time and again little regard for his own club before his personal interests.

West Coast have no choice but to sack him and no club with any intelligence would pick him up. Chick being over 30 and hoping to get drafted certainly will be overlooked now.
