can anyone help me with this > I tried installing a webcam on XP but it didn't work, the program asked me to register however and I chose to "remind me later". So after uninstalling the webcam it asked me register again and now when I click cancel it comes up saying "registration program not found", you click on that and your back to the register prompt... it's a vicious cycle..... any help would be great!!! thanks!!

the software you installed most likely wrote some kind of registry key that did not get removed after the uninstal
what i would do is reinstall the software again in the same directory as you did previously, restart your computer, then uninstall it, restart your computer again and see if that works
if that does not solve the problem try checking the files in your startup folder for anything having to do with the software, you can also check your boot.ini file to see if its loading anything up on startup [c:\boot.ini]
and last but not least run HiJackThis and post your problem up on a board like www.iamnotageek.com and ask them if they can help

Click Start
Click Run
Type msconfig hit enter
Click the Startup Tab
Uncheck the program you want to stop
Click OK
