I don't understand this statement. Is the Matrix movie sequals different from the Jaws, Rambo, Mad Max, etc, type sequals?

(I haven't seen the whole first Matrix movie, just pieces)

I think what was meant was two sequels eleased so closely together. Rambo, Mad MAX, Jaws and any other movie with a sequel or sequels have years between the release dates.
