Yes, because MCR sing about how their "Just A Kid and life is a nighmare" and how "God Must Hate Me" (Simple Plan songs).

Not necessarily, but their music is still geared directly to angst ridden teens.

This thread is now about MCR bashing.

My thoughts exactly....

That's because fads die. And it took MCR a longer time to become a fad then other poprock bands.

I always thought for something to be a fad it had to be popular with the majority of teenagers. Did you have ever idea how "uncool" it is (at least since TBP hype has died down) to listen to MCR?

Not that I care. My music taste ranges from Disney songs to Machine Head and I like it that way.

Not in the same way as Simple Plan, though. My Chem's music is, just in general, quite angsty (but with a positive outlook most of the time). It's about stuff someone of any age can go through.

What I don't understand about Simple Plan is that it's grown men singing about bad grades and having no friends, in a very teenage way. You can't take what they say seriously because of that.

It is actually not unpopular considering going to any youth conventions, malls, ect you will see countless people wearing MCR shirts. Probably more then any other band. It probably seems uncool because of all the metal fans and (genuine) punk rock fans that bash them.

Nah, not so much the metal and punk fans - The genuine metal fans etc couldn't give a damn what we listen to. It's mainly the fans of other poprock/alternative bands and fans of popular chart music that make them seem "uncool".

If you did a little research into the MCR fandom you'd see right now your either an extremly devoted fan, or you hate them. The "neutral" fans are rare these days. But they're that sort of band. Everyone loves them for a few months when they release a new record, then the hype dies down and you either love them or hate them.

Aside from the emo of Chemical Romance and all those terrible bands

You gotta say that all this post-Oasis, Beatles-wannabe, High guitar-waring, part-time chav - Brit-pop stuff is the worst

Razorlight and the rest

They wouldn't know rock n roll even if Steve Tyler was their dad
