Avril Lavigne,Maroon 5 and Fergie. I can't quite think of any more bad pop bads at the moment and I only hate pop,country but all country sounds they same so there's no point in listing a band.

Avril Lavigne, Fergie, Rihanna...Justin Timbberlake, basically anything Rap or R & B, and um...backstreet boys? um...nsync? That's all I can think of....

But then again, that's just my opinion. I'm fine if you like one of those bands/singers......

Half the stuff that is considered metal isn't even metal it's more hardcore than metal ie Disturbed, SLipknot etc etc

Skipknot and Disturbed are nowhere near hardcore...still metal. More like most stuff that is considered metal is just rock. People just don't seem to know what "metal" means anymore and go throwing the name around for any band that uses a down-tuned riff or has even the slightest bit of screaming.

Bands like Slipknot and Disturbed have far more in common musically with hardcore than metal, hence the term metalcore.

When you compare these bands to actual metal bands the similarities are normally in aesthetics as opposed to the actual music.

How are either of them closer to hardcore than metal? Neither of them use hardcore riffs or vocals. I don't recall ever hearing a song by either band that sounds like Sick Of It All, Hatebreed, Bury Your Dead, or any other actual hardcore band. Whether you like them or not, they are still technically metal bands.

I have a very limited knowledge of hardcore so I can't give you a detailed explanation but that's why such bands are not considered metal by the metal community at large.

way too many terms for metal and hardcore today . seriously , change a vocal and you are one thing , start yelling and change to power chords and your hardcore. who cares about sub-genres.

I dislike them in genral but they redeemed themselves very slightly with their ridiculous cover of Girls Aloud's "Love Machine". I only have it because it is on BBC radio Live Lounge compilation I own.

I have to agree with Mels..Nirvana in concert sucked..While Nevermind was an OK album..The rest of their stuff blew big time..

Kurt Colbaine was horribly overrated..The best thing that happened to Nirvana's popularity was Kurts too-close encounter with a shotgun..(per Courtney??)

Mine too :-) Although I was an impressionable early teen at the time. Actually, Cobain was a terrible influence on me back then. They say that music and Rockstars don't influence kids but if I'm totally honest I don't think I'd have messed up my teenage years half as bad if I had not been idol-worshipping Cobain at that age. If he did it, I thought it was cool and would have a go myself and I'm still suffering the after effects of those days all these years later.

I am very much not easily influenced nowadays, more of a full-time free thinker but back then I was very different but weren't we all at that age?

Let's all just agree that Sonic Youth > Nirvana.

But on the other hand, not all of that Seattle genre was bad. Personally, I love Soundgarden, Mudhoney, Mother Love Bone, Dinosaur Jr... Alice in Chains I could have lived without though. LOL.

I am agreeing with just about everyone who said the [Nickelback Creed] minigenre, and with anything ever in line with the SpiceGirls.

Although, a couple of bands that the world could have done without is
: MCR, Bullet For My Valentine, Behind Crimson Eyes (All overtley angsty teenagey expellative)
: Emanuel, Emery etc (Wannabe hardcore who fails dismially)
: Jimmy Eat World.

But other than that, I am open to most music.

Another is Danzig. The Misfits: Legends. Samhain & Danzig: Horrible. The only good band Glenn Danzig was ever in was the Misfits. Now he is over weight, balding and apparently making a movie (I heard it was an anime). Ack, I die a little bit inside whenever I hear someone say DANZIG (because capitals are fun) is better then the Misfits.

Yeah, I've actually heard both terms used. And I've heard people call them alternative, but that genre is thrown around loosely.

LOL, I died a little inside today when I found out the lead singer of MCR was born on MY birthday. (it's mine, I'm older )

You know what is stupid? Gerard Way will be turning 31, and everyone is like "Oh my gawwddd, he's getting old!" And I'm like, "Seriously?! 31 is not old!" Rockstars seem to be getting younger and younger (I can't get over the fact that one of the members of Paramore was 14 when they made their first album) and modern day rock fans seem to think that a rockstar turning 30 is a signal for the end of their career or something.

Not really. Lot's of bands started out quite young. The Misfits recorded their first album when they were 16 or 17, and that was in the 70s.

metallica...worst band ever!!!! That is a huge joke, but seriously I thought that someone by now would have smeared their name all over this board. By the way the way it looks a new album will be out in september and a new song will come in 44 days when the new rock band game hits stores. Hope it sucks!!!

I can believe that, certainly, but my point was that people are talking about Gerard turning 31 like he's 80 or something, and that's because a good amount modern day rock bands are 20/21 on their third album, and then quit by the time their 25.

I love My Chem, and think they're easily the best and most creative modern day rock band out there (In the mainstream scene anyway).

But you're entitled to your opinion. What I like about MCR is they don't sound like anything else around today, they're timeless. I honestly think they're one of those bands that people will be talking about in 2030 and I'll be proud to say I was there and a fan when it all happened.

I have no problem with you disliking them, because truely great bands divide opinion.

Funny thing is, 90% of the people that hate MCR, (Not just dislike, that's a whole different thing) don't know a thing about them, apart from that they're assioated (unfairly) with the emo scene and are popular with teenagers.

Anyway, talking about worst bands...Cute Is What We Aim For. Seriously. They're singer has the most annoying voice ever.

My Chem aren't emo. And I'll never be embarrased to say I listented to them. They've changed the course of my life forever. Without them, I wouldn't care about music at all, and music is such a huge part of my life know. They were my starting point, ya know?


And the fact that they've never heard of Cute Is What We Aim For is probably a good thing. They really are as bad as the name suggests. They're beyond awful. I think their singers voice scarred me for life, lol.

The most annoying voice ever belongs to the singer from "Billy Talent" and it's no coincidence that I hate their guts

I like Billy Talent. Though I suppose you could say their singers voice is slighty annoying. It sounds...fake? Like he puts on a voice when he sings.

Another band who's singer sounds like a whiny kid (and that annoy me) are Simple Plan.

They're lyrics are annoying to, and while it's quite clear they have good intentions with what they write about, whenever I hear them I can't help but think "YOU'RE GROWN MEN, GET OVER THE TEENAGE ANGST ALREADY!".
