AMSTERDAM (Reuters) - An Italian tourist has cried foul after being arrested for taking his pet chicken for a walk in the Netherlands, which is grappling with a bird flu outbreak.
The man, who was touring Europe with his chicken, was taken on Wednesday to a police station where a vet culled his pet. The man was not fined but he had to pay for the vet and an animal ambulance.

But it is just plain cruel that the poor guy had to pay for the vet and all (not to mention loosing his pet, chicken or anything else). I'd be downright P.O.ed and looking for a lawyer if something like that happened to my pet.
