HOLLAND, Mich. - A man was fined $600 and put on probation for throwing an Egg McMuffin at a McDonald's restaurant manager after he said he didn't get what he ordered.
Scott Rodgers, 46, was convicted Thursday of misdemeanor assault and battery. Besides probation, he was sentenced to three days in a work program and a fine and is banned from the McDonald's.
Authorities said Rodgers and his 6-year-old son stopped to get four Egg McMuffins with ham on Oct. 9 but returned to the service window to complain that at least one of the sandwiches had sausage.
County prosecutor Craig Bunce said that when the shift manager asked him to give the sandwich back, he threw it through the window at her.
"The manager was picking egg out of her hair," he said.
Rodgers' attorney said he did not throw the sandwich, but rather returned it quickly.

You see the corruption that the fast food industry is causing?!

I don't think the fast food industry can be blamed for the actions of a single man who obviously has serious anger problems.
I'm glad he was charged. Maybe he'll learn some human decency, accidents happen for gods sake.

This is not the first incident, and not the last.
If people can not respect and value food, they should be starved to death.

True that.
But hey, at least these kind of people ONLY eat at McDonalds and crap places like that, fast food keeps the actual restaurants free from this kind of idiot, so it works for me.

I'm glad he was charged, he obviously has poor impulse control and some anger management issues. Yes it was only an Egg McMuffin but what would happens next time he is in a hardware store and he doesn't like the colour of the hammer handle?
That's the whole reason you sit there and check your order...to make sure it is right. If you get the wrong thing it is your own fault. I think he should be hung by the neck until dead..and his son too! The kid will grow up and throw eggs at restauranteers as well.
Best we hang them both.

Maybe he should have been sentenced to WORK at MCDONALDS for a week or so. He might find its not as easy as it look.

Naa, then he would have just thrown them at customers instead.
Say what you will, this same sort of story pops up alot and it's ALWAYS the customer assulting the clerk, not the other way around. McDicks employees should get some recognition for constantly dealing with these jerks!

I liek the sound of making him work at McDonalds all day every day for a week or two, although that might push him completly over the edge!

Nah, in this case, the customer was wrong..
But usually it's the employee. I am sick of people pretending fast food is hard work, and they deserve no recognition.

I've been given a lot of wrong orders at Mcdonalds, but I don't speak up or act like that guy did. It's not fair that he was charged $600 for that because that is cheeky. The law's power is suppose to compensate for the victim's loss as result of injustice. But $600?! The judge of that courtroom must have a daughter or son working in a fast-food restaurant to give out a sentence like that!
Customer was wrong, but it shouldn't take $600s worth of penance to make up for it. Afterall, if he dealt with the wrong order in the proper way, would he be able to claim $600?
