For anyone still questioning the nature of these findings, and the truth within them:
Unfortunately, the publisher slipped on a good handful of tabs, which sent some very important columns to the right. Because of this, you cannot see the true picture unless you print. Furthermore, when the red and blue variables were presented, the publisher double spaced, which again took away from the picture because of the gaps between the months.
As far as the statistics go, they're dead on. This represents 29,580 individuals who reported a sighting between January of 1947 and December 2004. It is 100% correct in respect to transfering the numbers from the National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC) website to a spreadsheet and then more then triple checking my entries.
A better example I have listed below, which you will find as interesting and typical of EVERY SINGLE MONTH (58 months in all) on my list of statistics. This batch is how neat the others should have looked but I had no control over how it was published. The following is the year that the U.S. landed on the moon and the very month was July.
YEAR 1969
December 1969 3
November 1969 3
October 1969 9 9
September 1969 3 3
August 1969 11 11
July 1969 16 16
June 1969 15 15
May 1969 7 7
April 1969 2
March 1969 1
February 1969 2
January 1969 8
It looks to me like ET was interested in watching us land on the moon for the first time. They wouldn't have wanted to miss our greatest feat in space. See the heightened activity from June thru August in this year of 1969. Once more, let me reiterate that EVERY SINGLE year of the 58 years on those statistics (696 months) look exactly like the above in respect to consecutive months with heightened activity.
November and December 2004 were extremely high in respect to sightings and January and February 2005 thus far, are extremely low. This means that March or April they will start up heavy again and it will be heavier then December if the UFO's carry on with their repeat performance in 2005. December sightings reported with NUFORC was 248 and November was 300. The peak in 2005 was August at 484. The next peak should take place July, 2005 and will be in the very low 500's.
One thing I didn't mention on that report but will now is that there were more UFO's in our airspace in a larger increase from previous years, which means that more had come into the picture all together. This started to take place in July and August of 2002. For a statistician, many more thoughts can come out of those pages. You should print them and see what you can find.
For that matter, if you want a better look at my work, print it and you will see what I mean by the batches of consecutive months and the heightened activity. I do understand why you would have misinterpreted many of the stats due to the explanation in my first paragraph. No harm, no foul, no worries. As for you Stellar, you're still a twit. **rolls eyes**
Very truly no longer yours,

Oh, below are just some of the organizations in the UFO community that DO consider these statistics to be more then verifiably accurate and extremely interesting.
Dear friend:
I can certainly confirm your suspicions regarding infiltration of US and global airspace. Several pseudo intelligence contacts have relayed stories regarding military operations to gauge the magnitude of this serious situation. Please, in your own words,
*tell me how the UFO Resource Center can help? and,
*what information you will allow us to publish?
*Please state any other areas of importance you would like us to address for you.
Sincerely,
Christopher Montgomery

Your statistics support what has been assumed even back in the 1950's and 60's: that sightings do come in waves of activity. The significance of the waves are unknown. One thing is known: the frequency of sightings continues to increase overall over time due to more witnesses being willing to report sightings to agencies that are willing to record them.

Eileen:
Thank you for sending the link along. I would agree, it appears that UFO sightings do come in waves. I know I have mentioned this on a number of radio shows I have done.
Thank you again,
