Thanks much! My arm was twisted a funny way so I've ended up re-injuring an old injury. Now I'm on muscle relaxers. Whoopie! Missed 2 days of work because of it! What our animals do to us!!

Cats!

I own 6 of them, somehow. That's two different black cats pictured - I rescue them because there are sick people out there who do mean things to black cats, especially around Halloween. Also have 4 ferrets, 3 corn snakes, 3 Siberian huskies, and a Chinese golden pheasant. No self-respecting mouse would dare show its head around here....

Beautiful cats.
My dog Storm got bit by a poisonious snake in our backyard the other day. Luckily I was home and rushed her straight to the vets, she's back home now and you would never think a week ago she may have died.

Poor puppy

- glad Storm is feeling better now. She will probably despise snakes from now on. Was it a rattlesnake? My dog Ciera was bitten by a rattler last summer and she's hated snakes ever since.

Maelstrom, it was a red bellied black snake (I'm in Australia). Storm won't learn she's a staffy, they'll die before giving up in.
Piracy, Becks is beautiful I have a goldy (Sam) myself so I'm biased of course.

Oh both of them are divine! Thats so adorable; playing tug-a-war! I have another dog as well, a tiny little jack russel cross maltese called Gizmo.
I was wondering, have you trained yours to properly retrieve? If so do you have any tips?
I only got Becks a few weeks ago, her previous owner neglected her, so we took her in for adoption. Shes a bit of a handfull as shes not trained yet. But we are workin on it!
Aawwww, hehehehehe, Dogs are great! And that photo of those two is SO CUTE!!!

black & white one is DAXTER
tortoise-shell one is SKITZ
we named DAXTER after the game 'JAK & DAXTER' and SKITZ was named that because she is a bit loopy!

Hubby loves them too. I have a dog and two cats and he says that's enough for now. I have to agree with him tho....
It's funny tho, if we found a kitten tomorrow I know he'd let us keep it--he's very partial to cats but the dog is all MINE lol!

Piracy, no I don't do proper retrieving with Sam. He'll play a little bit of fetch but nothing serious. He has learnt 'drop it' which is very useful in a retriever. He picked up a bit of rawhide on our walk the other day and he got a stern drop it and he did straight away.
Be warned even at almost 2 Sam still likes to mouth everything, retrievers can be pretty destructive but then so are staffords so anything good make sure you keep away from Becks.
I can give you the name of a retriever forum I go to. I know some of the people on there do do bird retrieval with their dogs so they'd be able to give you a few tips. Mainly it's just a place for retriever lovers and all their quirks, all the basics such as care, grooming and training are also covered.

Mine was L350 about 5 years ago.
Golden retrievers from a registered breeder start at around $750 upwards.
