Please support our troops. All you have to do is go to
https://bandsforfreedom.com/en/index.phpand buy some bands. 100% of the money goes to troops and their families. They give up so much for democracy and your freedom. Bands come in different sizes and colors. Thanks.

It seems like a Bake Sale to buy machine guns...Odd...

Haha
Im sure the money would be put to good use. We'd be helping families by giving money like this, so it seems like a nice enough thing to be involved with. Also, if your a charity freak like me then its a pretty good and easy thing to do.

You can buy them in packs of 10 for 10 dollars. No its not a bake sale for guns. That site that they are cheaper it doesn't look like they even give the money to troops. That site actually gives 100% of the money to the troops. These men and women are giving up so much for you, I think you can spare a mere 10 dollars.

Yeah. I hope this thread made a little difference. I am not one to really be charitable but this is just such a great cause.

My first impulse is to delete the links here and close this thread, but I'll allow it with the following disclaimer;
A search on Google for Bands For Freedom disclosed that the company is very new, having just come into existance Jan. 1st of this year. Anyone who is considering making a purchase should remember the credo; Buyer beware. Caution is recommended, common sense should apply. One might consider searching out more reputable, long standing sources for this type of contribution, to insure proper disbursement, and no, I'm not talking about the toywiz.com link, that is strictly a business concern. I'd check into more regional areas, military bases or military support groups and foundations for making contributions. Don't mean to step on anybodies good intentions, but alot of the stuff you see on the net is questionable, especially if there is little history, that's a scammers paradise. The recent Tsunami internet fraud instances are a good example.

I wasn't so much disputing whether you'd recieve the 'ribbons', Kratos, rather I was concerned about the actual disbursement of the monies collected. There's no way to reliably support their claims, now is there?
Yeah, Hailo, just about every convenience store/gas station in existance in the states has small displays setup to sell them. While alot of them claim all proceeds go to programs supporting our troops, one can't help but feel unduly cautious. Then again, at a buck or two a pop, not many people are going to be overly concerned, but someone's making a bundle feeding on our patriotism.

Got my bands today.

with a card that says:

BANDS FOR FREEDOM
SUPPORT OUR TROOPS
after covering the costs of manufacturing and administration, Freedombands Inc. will donate 100% of its revenue to the;
ARMED FORCES RELIEF TRUST
Supporting our troops and their famlies.
www.afrtrust.org
This mission of the Armed Forces Relief Trust is to assist the military aid societies by providing a single vehicle to accept donations that will benefict the men and women of our Armed Forces and their famlies. Examples of such assitance may include payment for a soldier's airfare to fly home for his father's funeral, a special reading program for a sailor's daughter, special medical attention for a polot's expectant spouse, or a college tution for a soldiers child.
To purchase online or for more details visit us at www.bandsforfreedom.com
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now seriously that is a good cause to donate to. Its only 10 dollars and the soldiers get needed help. The men and women of the armed forces do so much for you, please give a little back to them.

What it comes down to, no matter how much is, or isn’t going to the troops; someone somewhere is making a lot of money from it. And at the end of the day that’s what it always comes down too, money!

I'm still not understanding this charity.
Troops don't receive additional funds from charities during peacetime, and troops serving in the war zone get hazard pay and don't pay taxes, so why are we sending extra money to the troops and their families? As a former military man myself, and someone who has been shot at in a war zone, I still don't see the need to send money.
I wasn't wealthy, but my bills were paid, and my death benefits(among other benefits) were very generous.

Its to help them out really. Like instead of them paying for a flight to see their family, that money will. Its just a thank you for the sacrifices and hard work they do for us.

The US spends 45 million a day in Iraq - probably less now since the fighting has been lowered. You don't need to give money to a charity that is already funded by the government. They should give more money to the dead soldiers families but you can just protest that to the government

^A dead soldier's family gets a lot more then this charity gives living soldiers. The life insurance for a soldier is $250,000.00 through the goverment. (At least thats what mine will be.)

Heck, I've always thought that living soldiers should be paid more. Their families (all of us, actually

) should have bunkers too, just like our President

My problem (as a Canadian soldier) is when I look at hockey players getting several million a year, while that max I earn a year is $24,000.00 Cdn.
A friend once said, "If a hockey player gets injured, it could end his career."
My response was, "If a soldier gets an injury, it could end his life."
Our police, soldiers, and fire fighters are under paid for what they're willing to put on the line... their lives.
Just seems out of balance to me.

Whoa to pricey
I would only buy if canadian troops were there but we were to smart to send people there to die

Hailo_fire, that ribbon looks a lot like the ribbon Canadians wore after those four Canadian soldiers had a bomb dropped on them by an American plane.
