Spirit world show was a spoof
A COUPLE who went to take part in a BBC show about the paranormal were furious to find themselves watching a 'tasteless' supernatural spoof.
Zita and Derek Collins of Oakapple Gardens, Farlington, answered an advert asking for audience members to see new BBC3 programme High Spirits being filmed.
The pair, who both have an interest in the paranormal, were expecting a serious show featuring a real-life medium trying to make contact with the spirit world.
But they found they were actually part of a comedy show starring supposed medium Shirley Ghostman.
Mrs Collins said: 'He pretended to get messages and his spirit guide was his dog.
'He talked to one lady, who was also an actress, about her dead son who had committed suicide.
'I didn't think that was funny because there could have been somebody there who had lost someone.
'He pretended to be taken over by the spirit of Princess Diana. '
BBC spokeswoman Alex Wells said most of the audience enjoyed the show and signs at the venue indicated it was an entertainment programme.
