I plan on going on a Ghost hunt with a few friends in a few weeks to a Graveyard at night..

So Im wondering what I should take.
I plan to take..
- My 357 Magnun
- 1 box of Ammo
- Flashlight
- Cell Phone
- Lighter
- Combat Knife

Is there anything else I should take with me?

It may be a wacky idea, but I am thinking that if you feel the need to take a gun to go to a ghost hunt, you are probably not the best candidate to;

1. Own a gun or,

2. Go on a ghost hunt.

Really. no.gif

Why do you think a gun is going to help you? Against ghost? huh.gif

Unbelievable.

Try something a bit less violent or dangerous than a pistol; perhaps a nice still and video camera as well as an audio recorder of some sort for EVP's. A notebook, and a good deal of real research of the area you are going into...A nice flashlight or two would be a good idea...

Haha.
I guess too many horror movies make you want to feel safe. =P

Meh, I'll leave it behind then..
But if I die...It's your fault! =P

Ha.
Im glad this was brought up..my friends and i plan to do a bit of ghost "hunting" sometime in the future.

And i think you know now not to bring a gun..so i wont even bother to say anything tongue.gif

A fourteen year-old with a handgun. Now either you’re lying or breaking the law. disgust.gif

How about taking with you some common sense, and as Fluffy said, more practical equipment. A knife? a lighter? rolleyes.gif

Hmm lets see:
A camera
A compass
A Thermometer
A flash light
A notebook and pen
A watch
A skeptic

err thats all i can think of for now. But seriously why a gun and why on earth a grave yard. There are much better places to look. Plus i'll bet you just end up freaking yourself out. disgust.gif

I agree that, if you are planning to go "hunting" ghosts you should take a dangerous weapon with you, but, of course, not a "physical" weapon like a gun, a knife or a lighter which will have no effect on your prey. These are like boomerangs and act against the user. Try taking along something much more dangerous and could affect both you and any ghost you might encounter, for example : a functioning, thinking Brain, preferably inside your own head. Good Lord! Only 14 and you have a hand gun? Where are your parents exactly? blink.gif

Actually a lighter isnt a bad idea..ive read many things that say ghosts can drain batteries and a lighter could be used as a back up light source.

What to bring:

Generally just film cameras, preferrably those which don't rely on batteries. Red LED flashlights are good for providing light and preserving night vision. A calm, rational, well-rested mind (which is a rarity in ghosthunting nowadays rolleyes.gif ) An EMP meter may be useful, but you must learn it inside and out, because these instruments pick up ordinary environmental emissions 90% of the time, not paranormal sources. An alchohol or mercury outdoor thermometer, to record the ambient temperature as well as any interesting variations you experience.

What not to bring:

Psychics, mediums, ouija boards, or anything else which 'creates' a ghost from human fears and misconceptions. Digital cameras, still or video, as they are more likely to pick up 'orbs', which are just dust, and also because there is no negative for positive proof. Infra red thermometers, as their beams, like the focusing beams on digital cameras, can be picked up on film. Bright flashlights. Night vision cameras, which create all sorts of 'anomalies' on their own due to lower resolution.

Hmmm, maybe a proton pack, PKE meter and a portable containment unit...

seriously, a gun would not be a good idea, take IR thermometers, video cameras and all that kind of stuff. Plus I am sure the police would'nt be too cool with you if they approach you and then find out your 'packing heat'.

*sheesh* and everyone knows you'd need silver bullets anyways... yes.gif happy.gif grin2.gif tongue.gif
