It's called off topic.
We don't need any other chat area on the forum. Anything you need to say unrelating to the unexplained, can be said in the off topic section.
Unless you mean an actual chat room, in which case there is one.

Don't know why this was in the 'world events & current events' section, but I've gone ahead and moved it to a more appropriate category. evilsongwriter, there is a 'chat room' accessible by clicking on the link that can be found at the top of every page. If you were suggesting that 'chatting' be allowed in threads on the forum itself, that's unlikely.
