I remember, and recall a T.V. event where they were going to air live on a one time network program, the first ever exploration of the Sphinx on T.V.

Does anyone have any links or remember this? I find it funny as I watching this a few years back they were near the end of the show and for the first time they were going to reveal what was inside the secret inside one of it's foot. They all felt something was burried inside it. I also remember that they never aired it. They ended the program at a wierd part of the show. It was intriging to me beacuse it was like they cut it off on purpose.

It was on Fox, if I recall...

Anyone know about it?

Wasn't that king tut or something? I remember it...Sort of.3-4 years back?

Yeah, I did not see the program, but I know what your talking about.
Archeologist found something, I think it was a small library room of sorts, underneath one of the "paws"
From what I remember, the Egyptian authorities stepped in and said "off-limits" so we can do nothing further because it is their rightful sovereign territory. It would be interesting to find-out what happened afterwards, as likely the Egyptians investigated, or are continuing to investigate, the site themselves.

Cool... I knew I wasnt crazy. *LOL*

I just found it odd that they were going to air their findings live but at the end it was cut off. If I remember exactly, they didnt even explain why.

I've been searching on Google, but it's kind of funny that some of the articles I click on, the links don't work. Done on purpose you think or a coincidence?

Your not "crazy" at all.
The explanation is that the Egyptian government refused further exploration by "outsiders"
That is their right, and must be respected. In a certain sense it is a shame, of course, but there is nothing we can do. It is their soil, their history, and regardless of the potential impact to humanity(if there is) they must agree otherwise. They have not at this point, and thus it stands.

As a member of the philosophic (in the classical sence) community, Egypt's reluctance to reveal the contents beneith the sphinx saddens me. Although I also think it is a wise choice - a choice which most likley evaded widespread panic and confusion. I believe that there was literature, perhaps hyroglyphics that revealed parts of history that would disturb the normal, more conservative person. Perhaps it goes against textbooks, perhaps it is completely different knowledge - and perhaps it just states that the pyramids, sphinx, etc, were not created by the egyptians at all.

I do not think it is a coinicidence - I'm not much of a conspiracy theorist, but I do believe something is being hidden from us.

I think there should be a different approach though. I think that for delicate circumstances like this, this kind of information should only be releaced to "licenced" people.

There should be a test for a licence to view sensitive material such as this, a test to prove you're sane and stable, and perhaps a contract denoting that you will not pass this information on to unlicenced parties.

I speak of such a licence purely because as a philosopher I love knowledge and wisdom, and withholding information greatly preturbs me.

--edit--

Oh, also, if you do find anything on this - Egypt's mysteries is one of my cheif interests, so please do not hesitate to PM me with websites, book titles, etc.

Egypt has revealed what was under the Sphinx... What they believe to be the tomb of Osiris, which is now under a small pool of water. And Hawass has let dozens of other Egyptologists to examine and explore it.

What wasn't found was a hall of records, or anything like that.

However, the right paw of the Sphinx has still not been excavated, that chamber that was discovered under it remains untouched, and Hawass still refuses to touch it.
sultanmuratova
its the same thing as with the hidden room they found in one of the piramids, they never reveiled after the first live show what was behind door number two.

same guy too, that Hawass.

it's makes me feel so frustrated that knowledge is hidden from us because they feel that we cant handle it or whatever.
ChariotInTheSky
Well, I concur that it is indeed very frustrating to know that somewhere out there, possibly the knowledge of all the cosmos exists guarded by those who believe that only they are capable of understanding and coping with it. However, on some level, this is not only true but it is needed. If we were to find out tomorrow that aliens were not only real but have active correspondence with the figures who ran our world, precisely what percentage of the population do you figure would be able to keep it together? 4%? 9%? Is even this too high? People are the way that we know them, because they don't have to think much about anything besides getting by in this world of "truths" and "constants". If you introduce these foreign elements into the world, I doubt that many would be able to deal properly. Perhaps mass chaos ensues believing the worse of the unknown.

I wish it weren't this way, but the masses will undoubtably keep those seeking the truth from easily finding it.

I hate this whole concealing information from the masses - it's like the "no child left behind program" which is summerized niceley by a comic:

A school of fish is being closely tailed to a shark.

Studentfish: Can't we swim any faster?
Teacherfish: No, we can't leave anyone behind.

A few religions would buck the new information (namely those stubborn christians), but it is true that most would break into a panic, and it would disrupt the world as we know it.

But also - many people would reguard it as unreal.
Just as most low-income individuals do to those with immesurable wealth. It's a coping strategy.

Still, though, it is not worth the risk of disrupting this world. For some - and that truely is what this world is for - some. It may turn the lifestyle of the most powerful (wealthiest) upside down because it has the power to reverse morality - for things would be shown in a different light.

So a solution to make everyone happy (which I think I mentioned before) would be the license idea.

First, King Tut wasn't burried in the Sphinx. Second, Howard Carter unearthed King Tut's tomb in 1922...so that rules out the 3-4 years thing.

"One would have liked to see a more updated version of this video, to find out what has happened with the secret chamber discovered beneath the Sphinx's paw (the lost hall of records perhaps?), but, as of recently, the Egyptian arheologists have either not been inclined to investigate, or, at least, tell the world of the results."
