i think there is a name for it, but i don't know it. is it possible for objects to come to life like actually moving? of course objects are not alive, but possessed? wondering because when i was little, my sister had a whole wall covered with porcelain dolls. creepy i know. i was going in her room because that's what little sisters do. i looked at the dolls and they were looking right at me. i ignored the creepy monsters and walked over to a dresser that was located on the other side of the room. looking through junk i looked in the mirror to admire myself. i noticed in the mirror that a doll's head was turned towards me, body still facing the other way. i thought it was a mirror trick and turned around. the doll's head was turned towards me. i know it wasn't like that before because i would of known plus my sister has some disorder which makes her a perfect freak. by the way i ran out of her room.

Childs play was in fact based on a real case of demonic activity. The case known as Annabelle is described in detail on www.warrens.net under legendary cases its really quite unsettling. Objects can be moved by spirits and its not unusual for a spirit to link to an object as a way of accessing people. Most of the time its objects from black magic rituals but not always. As for the term the best I've seen would be a cursed item.

Wo that's really creey. You probably have a phobia now or something of dolls, wouldn't blame you. I used to have a doll like that, but it broke when I was 5 after rolling it down a hill thinking it wouldn't break tongue.gif . Yeah, those things are weird... disgust.gif

When i was a kid we have a Fatima statue.
I always look at it everytime i close the door and go away.
When we came back and open the door, i noticed the Fatima moved sideway and
we smelled a strong scent of roses that we can't explain where it was coming from.

i would have been so creeped out if that happened to me, did you ever go back to your sis room?

that is the reason i hardly bought dolls as a kid, they look so scary in the dark.

At Artist's House bed and breakfast in Florida (not sure what city) there used to be a doll named Gene. It was a life-sized replica of this artist that was given to him when he was five (apparently that was normal back around 1900). He gave it his middle name and always blamed it for everything he did that he shouldn't have. For years the doll was kept in the tower of his house (a victorian style mansion) and it was always thought to have a malevolent presence and move around and stuff. Now, I believe, it's been moved to a museum, but it's still supposed to move around inside its display case and such.

Edit: Here's a link to a story about Gene.

I've heard of that story and even saw something on TV about it. But I believe the dolls name is Robert. I believe he got the doll from a house keep who was an ex slave and was thought to practice Voodoo. The Artist who owned it even forced his wife to give the doll it's own bedroom and everything. At one point in time they were restoring the house after the artist had died and one worker was ..well. working on "Robert's Room." After a short while he fled the house yelling and telling the then owners of the house that the doll in the room with him was pure evil and quit the job he was assigned because of it. If you saw a picture of the doll you would to believe it was evil.

I found a picture here:

Was it Robert? He gave it his first name, then. The artist's name was Robert Gene Otto. Creepy, anyway. I had a possessed rabbit once, but I've already told that story on here somewhere. Um, stuffed rabbit, that is. wink2.gif

Well I don't know the exact name for it...
...but I do know its a voodoo thing.

I read stories about wooden dolls coming to live...
...to punish those people who interfere with a voodoo-doctor/priest/shaman
(same thing as zombies)

Another explanation is that human spirits who cannot leave earth... (ghosts)
...posses objects/dolls on daylight and haunt at night...

For D. hunting dolls isn't a interesting challenge...
...ever told someone you hunted down barbie!?

I hate dolls! Mimes and mannaquins. no.gif I remember my parents giving me a clown doll many years ago I hated it and so did my mom. For some reason my dad liked it. mellow.gif There's this doll back in Quesnel BC in a musuem that's supposed to be haunted. The doll (in Quesnel) is very creepy and evil looking. I do believe these sort of things can be possesed.

of course i went back to the room. the creepy thing is i had a dream about them wanting me to join them...
QueenoftheNight
I remember as a child me and my sister were playing in our room with this big, raggedy monkey puppet. We threw it down and started to play with other toys when we saw that it moved. We both screamed, and stuffed the thing in our toy box. We started to cover it with toys but one of its arms was loose (it had long arms and legs) the arms seemed to move, and me and my sister fled out of the room pretty damn fast. I made my mom burn the monkey in the bomb fire (fire pit my family sits around). My great-grandmother got that monkey when she was in the hospital (she was a little crazy, it was more of a nursing home for the insane) and when she died my grandmother took it. Then I guess my grandma didn’t want it anymore, and gave it to me. I feel bad about burning it, but I still get a little creped out by stuffed animals and what not.
Bogeyman
My daughter had a collection of dolls since she was a child (16 now) ...after seeing poltergeist and then chuckie...they were all dispatched post haste to the bottom of the wardrobe ...where they have been ever since, they freak the head off of her now and she wont even take em out to look at anymore......i love to freak her out ,i tell her that one of these nights they are gonna open the wardrobe door when she's asleep and creep all over her bed...to do god knows what to her,and have their revenge for being locked up...she runs off screaming yes.gif yes.gif
Wouldn't you love to have a dad like me ? yes.gif yes.gif grin2.gif thumbsup.gif

she should she the movie "puppet master" grin2.gif
Elfstone810
LOL@Bogeyman!

Is she a sound sleeper? You should creep into her room one night, open the wardrobe just a little bit and move one of them so it's leaning out, or its hand is around the door or something. grin2.gif

SCARLET1
Ugghhh...dolls have freaked me out ever since I was little.

I have a little story about dolls...it happened to my pastor's daughters, but quite a few other family members were home at the time...

The two older sisters (there's 3 altogether -- the 2 were aged 17 and around 15 at the time) were sitting in their room, talking. There was a musical doll sitting on the older one's dresser, and for some reason it decided to start playing -- no one had touched it in forever, btw. Then, as they both watched, the doll turned its head and stared at them, even blinked its eyes (it had painted-on eyes)! They ran out of the room, found their dad (my pastor), and he came into the room, grabbed the doll and smashed its face into tiny pieces.

The End.

Seriously, I doubt they would have made it up...tho' it's possible, I guess...

Thanks! grin2.gif I try. thumbsup.gif

Scarlet, your story reminds me of an incident with a little stuffed musical rabbit I had. (What is it with me and the stuffed rabbits???) It wasn't that dramatic, it just played by itself. It was just a little cheap one like they sell by the billions at Easter time and you pushed its stomach in to make it play music. It started playing by itself one day, sporadically, but wouldn't play when you pushed on it. I just figured it was broken, though the timing was eerie. (It would wait until you were completely ignoring it, and then play just as soon as you stopped waiting for it to.) Anyway, a few days later I picked it up and it played normally. Never acted up again.

damn all these doll/puppet stories are giving me goosebumbs.
so basically anything can become haunted with something?
i understand why a ghost would haunt a doll since it looks human but i wonder if they are capable of haunting like a tv or even your pc.
