Another thing I'd do -

Go back to ancient Egypt (1000 BC), find a recently buried mummy, place a crucified Jesus in it's hand, come back to the present and watch, with increasing glee, the scientists, historians and Catholics go ape-sh**

That reminds of stories of landowners who would dig up actual roman swords buried in their fields, and then attempt to confuse archeologists by re-burying it amongst WWII barbed-wire.

I would probably go to Earth in the year 2150 A.D.

I would then grab me a machine gun, jump in the time machine, then zap me back to the crucifixion of Christ, and then blow all the evil roman bastards away with my 9mm, grab Jesus chuck him over my shoulder, and run of into the hills tend to his wounds, and then give him a new identity as Jesus H Nice, and then come back to 2005 come on this forum and ask all the fundamentalists on here am I still evil, or am I a hero, or am I even more evil than I was before Id probably also read the bible again to see if I was in it.

I dont believe in the Christian Idea of Jesus personally, if that idea is true, then the people that built Stonehenge and the pyramids never went to heaven.

Note: I was not making fun of Jesus’s murder, or as Christians call it his crucifixion either, I was making fun of the idea of what if someone was to actually do that. I was actually asking a valid question, what would I be to modern Christians if for debates sake I did do that? Sorry thats way of topic Maybe thats one for another post.

If I had a chance to go back in time, I'd DEFINITELY go back to the origins of the earth and see who is right once and for all; I'd go back and get the truth for myself. No more which god is the right one. No more evolution is the only answer. I would find it all on my own without the opinons of others to jade my views. I'd also like to go into the future to a time where deep space exploration was common, and see if I could get in on that. I'd love to explore the cosmos. Then if I felt like it, before I came back to my own, now altered time, I'd visit myself as a child and teach myself the lessons of the cosmos so that I could be a FANTASTIC writer and educate the masses on the truth only to be disqualified as a quack or perhaps the greatest fiction writer in the history of mankind.

Nah... I probably better stay right here, right now.

There are two points in time I would choose, both in my own past because I am selfish and vain.

Choice one...12 Years. 12 years ago I was a new nurse with a terrific job and a boat load of money. I had a great figure, a great car, and a great future ahead of me. From that point on I have made so many mistakes I wish I could undo.

Choice two...20 Years. 20 years ago I would have kept myself in the accelerated program at school rather than looking for ways to be cool and get into trouble. I threw a great education away so that I could party and have a good time. By the time I realized I messed it all up, it was too late to get into any reputable college.

But, choice one suits me best. There is certainly no shame in being a nurse. I'd keep the screwing up in school for the party years to go back just 12 years and undo the mistakes that caused me to lose who I was.

So... You would go back in time to instruct and guide your younger self? Wouldn't that just screw up your life more?

I wouldn't say my life is screwed up. We all do things that we wish we hadn't. It's that whole "if I knew then what I know now". I made poor choices with schooling and marriage. If I knew what I know I would of course change those things.

I would travel .2 seconds into the future...then just to make sure I didn't screw everything up I would travel back in time .4 seconds.

Dallas Texas, November 22, 1963. I have always been fascinated by the JFK assassination. I would go to Dealey Plaza early and scope out the area. I would find myself a place with a clear view of both the Grassy Knoll and the Texas book depository building. Then I would settle in with a pair of high powered Binoculars and learn the truth!

I would go into the future, maybe, 300 years. I would love to see where we have ended up with technology, especially space travel. I think it would be amazing to compare where we are now, to where the human race will be then.

But then again, there is also the renaissance. I would love to be in Europe during the renaissance!

I think I would go back when I was little and teach my kid self how to do better in life so that I would have a normal, better life than now.
