I'm watching code geass too and i must say that is is awesome, most of the episodes seem to end with a cliffhanger or twist which makes me want to watch more.

I thought I was a nerd... then I visited this thread and feel much better.

The main part of the Empire is based in the USA. In the shows time-line, Napoleon apparently occupied Britain, however a revolt ousted the monarchy. The ruling family fled to the American colonies and renamed it Britannia and so the US never happened, instead it became the Holy Empire of Britannia under the royal family, who as they are of French descent have French names.

Britain meanwhile joined with the rest of Europe to become.... the Euro Universe... what a stupid name. While China occupied India and most of the rest of South-east Asia.

The Middle East is also mentioned as having formed its own union.


At the point the show starts Britannia (North America) rules North America, South America, New Zealand, and Japan.
During the course of the season 1 they also occupy Egypt and parts of Africa.
During season 2 they also take half of the EU, mainly Russia, mainland Europe and Africa (which is an EU member).

Red is Britannia
Yellow is the EU
Bright Green is the Middle eastern union
Pale Green is the Chinese Federation
Blue is Australia

This is a map of the planet during where I currently am (season 2)

It shows Britannia in blue, Red is the United Federation of Nations which is formed after the Chinese Federation, the EU and the Middle East collapse. Some members of all of these are part of the UFN, others such as Australia and Britain are neutral.

I've never seen MOBILE SUIT ZETA GUNDAM, TURN A GUNDAM or EUREKA SEVEN (although I'm aware of their existance)
TENCHI MUYO is likely on of the best anime's evem until season 2 where it just became a mess
TENCHI UNIVERSE is one of my person favourites, but I don't agree with the term best series,
As for TENCHI MUYO GXP, it was enjoyable but ultimately just average, or just above average.

Truth be told, the TENCHI titles there don't deserve the term 'best ****ing anime series' (with the exception of MUYO seasons 1 and 2), as there are much better titles out there; Code Geass, Ghost in the Shell, Death Note etc which are better written and animated.

Your titles are fan favourites (and clearly your favourites), but GITS, Death Note etc are a classic work of art and story and far greater of the title best series.


At least you didn't day Dragon Ball Z, which is an enjoyable series, but has a limited plot and average animation... yet an unending legion of fans saying its the best thing since sliced bread

Got a new anime called Hyper Police, its about a future were beastmen and humans like side by side, and follows a bunch of bounty hunters. Its a comedy action. Its weird, but above average.

Oh my god, Code Geass episode 21 of season 2 just did a massive 'wtf'. I have no idea what all that Ragnarock Connection was about, but at least Zero has finally done what I've been saying he should have done for ages.

I just hope he doesn't get an ego trip and decide to take over the world and just become a new dictator rather than freeing the different regions. Then again, this worlds so messed up maybe it needs to be united under a single government, just a more caring one than the fascist Britannians.

I just saw it too, and i was blown away! It seems that Shneizels(sp?) got something up his sleeve to just simply hand everything over to Lelouch.
Lol Talon the characters in the anime were also like wtf.

I do want to see Rivalz and Milly's reactions next week; that said Milly's parents knew who Lelouch was and were acting as his and Nunnelly's guardians, so she may have known.... but certainly that would have been a wtf moment.


The one issue I have is with the Black Knights, now that they've abandoned Zero and allied themselves with a mass murderer exactly where are they standing on this, and they good, evil? certainly allies of justice is out the window.

Okay, Zero has finally gone darkside on us in his world domination attempts. That said Nunnelly has her darkside too, droping a nuke on a city? Even Lulouch never did that!

I had a feeling Nunnaly wasn't dead but it still came as a surprise, that being said what in the world is Lelouch going to do now? the reason why he started the whole rebellion was for Nunnelly's sake, if im not mistaken.

And now she's been revealed as a despot (unless she wasn't told her ship had just launched a nuke at a populated area... she is blind after all). Meanwhile is Kallen going to fight Lelouch despite being his most loyal follower, save maybe for Orange.

What on earth was Lelouch thinking attacked the UFN in his weakened state? I get the fact that he wants to conquer the world so they'll be no more fighting, but when he's in a position to end the fighting he should take it, particular when his evil brother is still out there with nukes and has demonstrated that he doesn't mind using them.


The way I see it everyone in this series has a darkside. Lelouch wants to rule the world to bring about Nunnully's peaceful vision. Susaku wants Lelouch to rule the world to bring about Euphemia's peaceful vision. Nunnelly and Schnilzu want to restablish Britannia's empire and they'll nuke cities and kill millions if it gets if anyone opposes them. The Black Knights freaked out and betrayed Zero when they found out who he was and then sold out the UFN by making a treaty with the Schnilzu (the man who destroyed the EU) to give them Japan and to hell with the rest of the world.

The UFN is the only remaining true force for good, problem is I don't trust the black knight's new leadership.

Hell I'm routing for Lelouch, yeah he wants to conquer the world and he's a manipulative dictator in waiting, but we've been with him since the start. I just hope it doesn't kill him off.

Code Geass really is like a curley-wurly! Fresh from making Louloch the baddie in the last episode, now he's the goodie again, defending the world against a genocidal luntatic and the black knights, who are so stupid they can't even work out their new leader is manipulating them more than Zero ever did. If the Black knights win, 2 billion people die; if Lelouch wins, he becomes earth's dictator but in doing so unites the planet to end wars

Man, all the drama is killing me in Code Geass. Talon you already said what i was going to but better. Can't wait for the next episode! I think ill check out Full Metal Panic in the meantime.

Latest episode of Code Geass r2, awesome as ever. I just hope they don't end it the way like they did in Deathnote, killing the main character off.

I'm going to cry, no more code geass That said the ending was awsome. True to the last Lelouch proved himself the good guy, willing to play the villian that was needed to unite people against.

I just wish he hadn't died though, although I was expecting it. My hopes rose at the very end with CC in the cart and the masked driver, I half expected that to turn out to be Lelouch, having maybe used the trade in his powers for immortality that CC was cursed for so long with. I'm glad CC lives, after 2 seasons of saying how she wanted to die I'd glad she chose to live at the end. And I'm glad Orange-kun survived as well, he was a racist *** in season 1 but he redeamed himself in R2 as one of the most loyal members to the cause, sticking by Lelouch even when the Black Knights betrayed him.

All hail Lelouch!

i think lelouch is still alive, when Nunally touched him she somehow sees into his memories which if i remember also happened when someone touched C.C when she was injured. It makes me believe that he somehow obtained geass code making him immortal. And the ending too, why they didn't show the cart drivers face and all.

Everyone who comes to this thread must watch code geass, its easily in the top ten best animes of all time - words cannot express its fantatic awsomeness!

Oh my god, everyone stay away from Ga-rei Zero. Its sick, its about a private army that hunts demons. Each episode follows the last mission of one of its units i.e. at the end of the epsiode its kills of the entire cast, and then starts with a new bunch of characters in the next episode who (after 24 minutes) also die.

Sick, I mean in both eps 1 and 2 there were cute girls - well they were cute, but they're both dead now!!!!

Only emo people would want to watch it.

i recommend that people should watch Detroit Metal City, if you want some laughs. Only bad thing about it the episodes are only 15 min

I started watching Naruto again from the start, this time the english dub. The voice acting for some characters is okay, then there are others that are nothing like their japanese counterparts.

Still, an awesome series. Kiba and Naruto are currently beating each other up in the Chounen examples, after this I'll watch Bleach in English see how it compares, the Death note.

Okay, my massive campaign to reboot my anime DVD collection after years of not adding to it because of the costs of student life continues!

Bought all of Bleach on DVD available in the UK - dubbing... not as good as the Japanese, but gets better. And of course, Bleach rules.

Death Note - Oh god! I hate L's voice, it isn't L! And Rem doesn't sound anything like Rem! Arghhhhhhh! Will dubbing companies at least try to have actors sound like their Japanese counter parts rather than just picking anyone who comes along even if they don't fit the character! Still all of its grows on you, and the series is just as awsome as it was when I watched it years ago in Japanese.

Ah My Goddess series 1: I miss the OVA voice actors.... after 10 years of watching that, its how I hear the characters... in my head... talking to me.... but the new set do grow on you. Good series, decent English dubbing.


Mai Hime - loved this in Japanese... I mean LOVED. This was one of the best anime’s of the last decade - it was awesome. Only Code Geass and Death Note can rival its awesomeness it was that awesome. Just came in today, entire series box set... episode 1 voice acting... okay.... then came episode 2.... excellent one of my favourite characters was about to appear, Shiziru, the cannon lesbian who loves Natsuki and wants the world to know it! A character who in the Japanese dub spoke with a gentle higher-class accent. Oh my god, she appears on screen, her mouth opens and the English dub that spills forth is.... Texan..... Texan? Texan!!!!! A gentle well spoken higher-class girl and they give her a Texan accent? Which no offence to Texan's does not sound higher-class! She sounds like Rogue from x-men the animated series! That’s not Shizuru! She sounds like a cow-girl for crying out loud!
A Texan accent is fine for certain characters! But not a higher class elegant woman of high standing! Hell an English 'ya-ya' type accent would have been more appropriate! Certainly the last thing you pick is an accent that sticks out like that! And before anyone accuses me of being unfair on Texan's, I wouldn't have wanted her to have a Scottish, Irish, Welsh, French, German, Polish etc etc accent either. Her accent should have been a very neutral one that a lot of American voice actors have, I can't tell you what state the girl who plays Mai comes from for example! The voice should not be one that screams at you, I come from this region of the world by having a strong accent!
Voice actors, should always have a very neutral dialect, and voices should always fit the characters!

This is why I don't watch Negima! Because the killed it with the bad dub. Story of Negima; Welsh mage goes to Japanese school to teach cute girls - why? so there's cute girls on screen that’s why!!' And he's Welsh, as in from Wales.... as in the country below in green;

Yet what do the dubbers do! They give him an English accent! Which I might have been willing to overlook if they'd said, 'okay, Americans don't know were Wales is we'll just have him being English intead'..... but nooooooo they don't do that. They have him not only having an English accent, but then announing he's from Wales, which one of his students instantly 'recognises' as being part of - take a guess yes, England!

Meanwhile, Bleach is getting far too slow. With a few battles going on, and trying to show them all at the same time. The fight scenes are just dragging along, to the point where it's becoming a chore to see how the Shinigami's win.

Where in Bleach are you? The Eng or Jap version? If its the Jap version then yes, its ground to a halt, but Naruto's doing the same, 5 pages of Manga are now worth 30 minutes, one day’s instalment now worth a week’s worth of show. Worse still it isn't even good fighting, its a single move followed by ten minutes of explaining why that move is so 'cool' and how 'talented' they are to have pulled it off. Seriously Nell's fight against Nnoitra lasts like 4 pages in the manga... the anime dragged it out for 4 episodes... 4 very long and boring episodes. And Naruto was just as bad, Gara vs Dedora (sp?) lasts like 3 pages in which Gara gets annihilated. The anime however drags it out for 5 episodes with Gara launching attack after attack which Dedora just avoids - how exiting; attack, avoid, attack, avoid, attack, avoid (and it’s the same attack each time! Does Gara only have Sand Coffin?!).

It’s pitiful.

I understand part of it is because they're catching up with the manga and need to waste time to let the author steam-role ahead, but its also because they’re popular series which the company making it wants to drag on for as long as possible ('hey this manga could make a 100 ep series', replied with ‘yes, but lets make it a 300 ep series instead'); the down-side being they draw out the thin plot further than it can go and make everyone bored, especially when the fights that are supposed to excite us aren’t that good, just two guys talking about how awesome their move-set is. Seriously more anime need to get ideas of fight scenes from Final Fantasy Advent Children, Transporter, Matrix etc - ie. fast past, action heavy fight scenes which get the adrenaline running, and where talking is only down to insult your opponent, not to explain how your last move was so cool and how you did it. Its not the first time this has been done though, DBZ was just as guilty, and there are others too.

Its sad that most series in 26 episodes can introduce characters, set up a plot, and have the whole story done and dusted satisfyingly. Bleach stared off the invasion of Hueco Mundo around episode 141 back in September 2007, we’re now over a year on and at episode 196 almost a year later, and they’re still nowhere near leaving… 55 episode…. That’s over double what most series get to tell their entire story and Bleach has dragged out a handful of fight scenes into it. Its insane! They could have managed all of that in under 15 episodes, and the product would have been a far more fulfilling, action packed fight-fest, not the bore-fest we got. Don’t get me wrong, I like Bleach, but I agree its just so slllllllllllloooooowwwwwwwwwwwww.

In the Eng version I'm only at the end of season 2 for Bleach, so its not that bad. Naruto though is stuck in season 4 filler.... at least season 5 (the sound four) is out in a week.
