Oh... The crafty Japanese have fooled us all. Apperantly that wasnt the real first episode but a cut down trailer version that could fit into a TV timeslot .

THe real first episode aired a few days ago Feb 10 . Its 50 minutes long.

Baka-updates is aware of this and they hve taken it off their list. Still available on mininova though . Cant wait for entire OVA.
Greeling
i can't wait either i love me some hellsing lol

Thats the one of mininova, 690 MB in size.

I finished DLing it 2 hours ago and watched it.

Its 50 minutes long. Covers the Cheder village story, the two-teenage vampires story and then the run in with Anderson. Although, it feels rushed since thats what the TV covered in 5 episodes, yet this took the equivent of 2.

I don't like the character visuals either. Although they are closer to the manga, I prefered the serious designs of the TV series.

Still I enjoyed it.

Kodansha Announces Two New Negima Anime Produced by Studio Shaft

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On a foldout page in Weekly Shônen Magazine issue 13 (released March 1), Kôdansha officially announced two new anime based om Mahou Sensei Negima! will be produced.

Production will be moved from Xebec to Shaft and will feature the creative talents of Akiyuki Shinbo (director) and Kazuhiro Ota (character designer), the team that produced Pani Poni Dash!

Spring Edition, one of the new Negima anime will be screened at a Negima event held by Kôdansha and King Records
at Tokyo Kôseinenkin Kaikan on April 23rd. A discussion featuring voice actresses from Negima will also be a part of the event. The application coupon to attend the Negima event is included in Weekly Shônen Magazine.

Release details for the new anime have not yet been announced to the public.

Source: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/article.php?id=8480

Oh good, hopefully this means a second series may still be possible. For anyone that remembers Negima's that series that I was on about Summer last Summer about a Welsh wizard teaching at an all girl's school in Japan. The Manga was huge (still on going) and hilarious, but the anime director wanted to do his own thing and made it 'just okay' so its sceduled 52 episodes were cut to only 26.

With any luck these two new animes (I'm guessing one off OVA's) may be popular enough to reserect season 2 ... WITH A DIFFERENT DIRECTOR! (and more Konoka/Setsuna goodness)

The best anime on TV here at the moment has got to be Samurai Champloo. It's SO cool! Don't know if it's going to be released outside Japan, but look out for it!

AAaah!! I know!! Awesomeness!!

I got the first manga book of it....O.O hilarious and well written.....and drawn....

Hmm just wanted to say....I can't wait for Final Fantasy IIV (7) To come out....Advent Children....gaaah soooo goood

Fight scenes were phenomenal, so was the CG...(computer graphics)

Samurai Champloo has been lisenced (I think), so it should be out in the US soon

Actually I just checked Amazon.com... its already out

I DLed the OVA episode (which is Episode 11, which was never released in the west). But the series isn't out in Scotland for another month, so I haven't see it or watched the OVA. I have heard its the weirdest blend of ultra-violence and cuteness even made though.

ohmy.gif: Shock! Horror! Hersy! crying.gif Oh well, personal taste I suppose. Personally I'm loving Mai Otome, it started out really cute and cuddly, but now it getting dark will people dying (no doubt to be brought back at the end as they did in Mai Hime grin2.gif I love happy endings).

As for Karin, I'm finding the later episodes a laugh-a-minute. Particularly Winner's uselessness as a vampire hunter when he's unknowingly obsessed with one.

I've DLed Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien (now set for US release as Rumbling Hearts) but I only watched episode 1. I essentially DLed it because all of the pics of the two girls hugging only to be really disappointed at the lack of shoujo-ai in it.

Getbackers is supposed to be hilarious.
Talon
I'm also DLing/watching at the moment

Lemon Angel Project - Kinda like Pop Idol only animated, oky, nothing brillant.

Fatestay Night - Kinda reminds me of Mai Hime only darker and the cast isn't entirely female.

Gokujou Seitokai - all girl's school comedy, hilarious

Pretty Cure Max Heart - Sequal to Pretty Cure

Pretty Cure Splash Star - more cutsey version of Pretty Cure

Gunparade Orchestra - Mecha alien fighting

Kashimashi ~Girl Meets Girl~ - Lesbian romance story yes.gif

To Heart 2 - Typical 10 girls like 1 guy Tenchi-syle story

Also Dling at the moment but haven't watched a single episode of;

Kage Kara Mamoru!
Kakyuusei 2
Ichigo 100%
Lamune
Magikano
Pani Poni Dash!
School Rumble
Rozen Maiden

Talon
Update on that new GITS anime. Its a movie, which will last 90 minutes.

Here's a question, does anyone have any Video Game or western TV series/movie they think would be great as an anime?

Personally I'd love to see a series based on Resident Evil, DragonLane and Final Fantasy 7/8 (Last Order style, not that childish Unlimited).

Also I'd love it if they did a prequal anime triology to Star Wars, like three movies covering the Darth Revan war and another three charting the original Jedi/Sith war.

Also interesting would be anime versions of Dead or Alive and Breath of Fire series would also be cool. An anime DOA would certainly be better than the awful looking movie which is comming out soon.

I thought To Heart, To Heart 2, .hack, Da Capo, Gate Keepers, Record of Lodoss War, Street Fighter II, Fate/Stay Night and Final Fantasy VII were all pretty good myself. And I've heard good things about Tales of Eternia and Wild Arms.

Don't judge all these animes based on rubbish like the Tekken anime, the later Street Fighters and Pokemon.

QUOTE

Actually they tend to have pretty low production values and limited thought go into them. You forget almost every anime there is has something like 10 video games made of it, Tenchi for example has something like 40 video games. We simply don't see the thousands of bad one's released outside Japan.

Again, you're going only by what western companes are willing to release outside Japan. There are millions of anime based video games in Japan which are cheap and poorly designed.

On a personal note though, I'd like it if the west would import more text based games. There are millions in Japan but we never get them because they don't sell well.
Talon
Here's an example of the type of stupid games we don't get.

Anyone else here watch Maria-Sama ga Miteru? Its a lesbian romance story based in an all-girls Catholic school, its actually very good.

I've got episode 1 and 2 of both seasons, but because I'm waiting until I've seen season 1, I've not watched the 2 eps of season 2 I've got.

I did get however on DVD Cromitie High School Volume 1 (very funny) and US-imported Kaleido Star season 1 box set (still to watch, but should be good)

I’m also watching carious other animes at the mo: Strawberry Panic, Nana, High School Girls (Girl’s High). Oh, and I finally am getting around to watching my Shuffle collection.

I really liked the continuation of the Celtic theme in the Oh My Goddess sound track. Season 1 had Irish flutes used in the intro, season 2 uses Scottish bagpipes laugh.gif it was so surprising hearing them for the first time when I started playing the ep.
