Does anyone know when Bleach will be available in shops over in the UK? I've only noticed that the mangas are out on shelves a month or something ago.

A long time if ever. I don't even think the US has the DVDs yet.

Mmm, my personal favorite anime is Gasaraki, although I've never seen that on TV...I just bought the DVDs.

I bought that on DVD on special offer years back for £40 for the entire series. But I can't stand it. Its far too slow for me, I can see where its trying to be an epic with lots of plot, but personally I really just wanted some mecha-fighting like FMP. Still, each to his own.

I just finished watching Rozen Maiden & its sequal Rozen Maiden Traumend. Words cannot express how good this series was. It'll easily make my top ten think ... well... given how many animes I've seen maybe top 20. But everyone just go watch it, the visuals, the character designs and both intro songs are fantastic.

Then watch another anime tongue.gif One that doesn't involve superpowered fighters tongue.gif You could watch comedy like Azumanga, or a sci-fi police drama like Ghost in the Shell.

just finished watching Shingetsutan Tsukihime, a good anime though hard to keep track of due to all the secrets and forgotten memories.

It is about Shiki Tohno, the main character the anime follows, who has "Mystic Eyes of Death Perception" inwhich lets him see threads that connect everything, and if cut it destroys whatever he has cut. he was given special glasses, by a woman called "sorceress", that made him unable to see those lines - preventing the 'curse' from working, which he has worn for for 8 years.. He later meets a "true ancestor", an original vampire kept in nature, called Arcueid Brunested. She is out to destroy dead Apostles, the result of when a true ancestor drinks from a human. She is after the Apostle leader, Nemo Chaos which ranks as one of her most powerful foes. She forces Shiki to become her shield, due to him killing her which has left her weakend, a memory he has no recolection of, though Arcueid fills in with violent scenes. The story unfolds at a slow pace, with the unraveling of shiki's memory, Arcueid's sudden want to live her life and the Tohno household secret.

It's a short anime and a bit slow paced, yet I enjoyed it and its mysterious unravelings.

Sorry but the great movie was 'Spirited Away', really emotional, I read it in color comics.

Have anyone seen 'Akira: Christmas' something...it was an adult anime about Akira's flings and fantasy. Nice melancholic soundtrack though it was frame by frame slidehow type anime.

Considering that there has been an anime done on just about every bloody subject imaginable in Japan, it's not surprising that a few have done a decent work on supernatural elements, or incorporate supernatural elements. Usually, these are 'Japanese' supernatural bits or have been 'Japanified'.

As for my opinion on Anime in general, I like a lot of it, hate almost all of the rest of it. Anime is like all entertainment genres; generally, most of it is fairly crappy. Naruto is pretty good, and the english episodes (almost entirely unedited, with good dubs) have been appearing in the USA. FLCL is a must see, and the Miyazaki works (Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke)are among the best out there in the mainstream available to Americans.

I don't understand why people continue to patronize Inuyasha. Frankly, it has gotten lamer and lamer as it descended into Ranmaesque slapstick.

I just very recently started to get into anime because of my friend. I'm really liking it so far.

I've been watching the series Full Metal Panic (seen eps 1-7 so far). My friend is sending me a few episodes over msn each night (that way I wont watch them all at once, which I have a tendacy to do tongue.gif). I'm gunna see if I can buy it on DVD though somewhere in town.

I think this sums up why I'm liking this! Found it on a forum somewhere.

"I watch anime because it has all the cool things:
hot babes, guns, rockets, missiles, fires, explosions,
robots, high technology, hot babes, revenge, death, animation,
hot babes, and teleportation, and space travel."

I look forward to watching more series after this one! original.gif

Ah, FMP that’s a great anime. Also great is its sequels The Second Raid (FMP will less comedy more action), Fumoffu (FMP will more comedy and less action), and the Tessa Special (30 minutes of cuteness).

But thats it.

my turn.
note: watch all anime subbed. reading out the storyline adds imagination to the characters, they can be the true heros they deserve to be. Dubbed or english voice overs ruin the experience. Also they change the words and ruin the author's original expression, which is an obvious american conspiriacy to keep you dumb.

SERIAL EXPERIMENTS LAIN ******
Rurouni Kenshin, OVA's over the series... but the series is life changng.*****
Ninja Scroll*****, Ghost in the Shell****, Akira***.
Outlaw Star****, Cowboy Bebop (i need to rewatch) ****

Golden Boy****, Trigun ****

Hellsing ****
Vampire Hunter D ***
Dragon Ball Z *****

Full Metal Alchemist *****... they other guy is insane and doesnt appreciate the occult backgrounds behind this work.

I am digging Nuratu(sp) and Paranoid Agent and Scryed(sp)

urrrrrrrrrrh, not really good titles to get to know anime by. Pokemon is the the Japanese equivent of Micky Mouse, and DB/DBZ while enjoyable are not pinicples of anime.

You should watch Ghost in the Shell the series if you like sci-fi, oh and if you like dark complicated assassin stories watch Noir. Hellsing is a good gothic vampire anime.

Well I don't want to spoil it for you, but around episode 5 it becomes less comedy and more action for a while, and then again at the end of the series. But if you thought those three eps where funny definately check out Fumoffu and the Tessa Special (the later's only avialable in Japan so you'll have to DL it or wait a year or so) their both insanely funny.

If you like Comedy anime also check out Azumanga Diaoh and Excel Saga, there both insanely funny comedy animes... although when I saw 'insane' in reference to Excel... I mean it.

Yah I've noticed the more action. But thats cool, because i like it to.

In America and the UK? No way to tell.
The PPV launch is September 1, and the DVD out on November 24 for Japan. It’s pretty certain it will be available for LD at those times. However an official western version will take time to be released, but most likely given how big GITS is that wont take long
Both Bandai Entertainment and Manga Entertainment are both companies which release anime in the west and who are on the production team, while Bandai is primarily interesting in the Japanese market, Manga is a western distribution company, which means if its involved its already likely got the licence rights.
Problem is it could take months to be dubbed and released in the US and then another 6 months for a UK release. My guess, we won’t see an English language version of GITS: SSS until early/mid 2007, but I have no doubt it'll come.
