Anime is getting better & better. Japan keeps coming up with the greatest animes ever. Like with "Trinity Blood," "Blood+," & many others. I haven't been kept up with the new animes. But at least their drawings are getting better.

I must say I am really enjoying both, thank god those fillers seasons have ended. I do find the Vizzard completely annoying those, the Arancaar are much better villains. Have you seen the new intro for episode 122, by the looks of it some major plot-line around Orihime is going to happen, which is good cause we need more Orihime.
When you say Naruto btw, is it the original Naruto or the Hurricane Chronicles? Because although I’m enjoying HC a lot more than the fillers, I’m worried that by the looks of it they are going to turn it into another Drag-on Ball Z
That's what I heard. The fillers are done & the "time skip" is just starting.
DGZ is such last century.

When you say dragon ball z do you mean a super powerful bad guy comes to destroy the village or some other village just for the hell of it and some how naruto and or his friends finds the strength to beat him/her.
No I mean like they drag out the fight screens. The Gara/Deidora fight seen did not need to last 7 episodes when it lasted 4 pages in the manga.

Oh I see well I guess they are going to do that, and if you did read some of the manga you noticed the battles got longer too, well at least I thought the fight between Sakura, the old lady, and Sasori also the fight between team Asuma and team Kekashi fight with Kakuzu and Hidan were long, but they were exciting to me so no real complaints from me if they are long.
I finally got to see Seirei no Moribito well you can definitely see where all that money is being used for its the best looking anime series I ever saw i think my favorite anime "Monster" could be dethroned if they keep up the storyline (I read the source material was good) pacing and high quality animation.
And I have to correct my self apparently that list was an online vote not actual veiwer-ship data, faith in humanity restored!

I have a lot of anime I've DLed but never watched, including the first few eps of Seirei no Moribito. But because of your mention it I went and saw the first 3, very good, not move good like GitS, but very good for a series GITS: SAC.

Actually, on watching the Seirei no Moribito e3 fight sceen again, I think it actually has better animation than a lot of movies
As for El Cazador de la Bruja, its not as good as Noir, but not a lot of stuff is, but its better than Madlax. Its not as violent - in fact the main character (a bounty-hunter) is yet to kill anyone even though she sayd she has in the past.

Naruto Movie 3 finally released about 2 days ago how could I have missed it anyway that came out of nowhere! A quick overview of the plot from wiki:
The story begins with a naked young girl named Lucy escaping under odd circumstances from an insular research facility off the coast of Kamakura in the Kanagawa Prefecture of Japan. Lucy manages to nonchalantly dismember and slay a fair number of the staff and guards with a form of seemingly supernatural power and gets outside. A sniper is seen trying to shoot her, only managing to ricochet a bullet off her metal helmet. Lucy then falls off a cliff into the sea, bleeding from her head but ultimately surviving and evading the research staff.
Lucy is not a normal human but rather a diclonius: a mutant variant of humans with two small horns on their heads (hence the name diclonius) that resemble cat ears. The diclonius race possesses telekinetic powers through use of their "vectors", invisible arms that they control with a number and length of reach depending on the diclonius.
The day after Lucy's escape, a boy named Kohta arrives at Kamakura to meet his cousin Yuka. Kohta has come to study at the local university and has been given lodging at an old, family-owned inn, the "Maple (楓, Kaede?) Inn", provided he acts as the caretaker. After meeting with Yuka, they go for a visit to the beach and find Lucy washed up on the shore, still naked and bleeding from her head. The head trauma Lucy experienced causes her to develop a split personality. In stark contrast to the cold and sadistic Lucy, this personality is completely docile, harmless and is incapable at first of saying anything other than "Nyū". Not knowing what to do with her, Kohta and Yuka take her back to the inn to look after her and name her "Nyū". Yuka quickly decides that it will be best that she also live at the inn.
Kohta, Nyū, and Yuka begin settling into their life at the inn and Nyū begins to dredge up painful repressed memories from Kohta's past. Meanwhile, the researchers from the laboratory where Lucy was held begin searching for her, dispatching both human and diclonius agents to hunt her down.

There are a couple things I found odd about the series though. For one the
credit song seems really out of place, compared to the

The words of the credit song fit but the kind of upbeat tempo doesn't. Although after watching an episode you may need something upbeat.

I’m well aware of what it’s from, but that doesn’t stop the fact that an image of the mutilated body of a little girl on a family site is rather sick, even if it is animated.
And as for what I watch, its all over the thread, I make up something like half the posts
As for Love Hina, yes I saw it, an okay anime but nothing exceptionable. Felt it was strongest at the start and then dragged by the end.

I’ve never see the movies, but the anime is 30 episodes and still going. I think there are 42 episodes planned in total. That’s 14 hours, so the difference will be massive from the 3 or 4 hours the two movies make up.
Overall the anime follows the manga almost word for word, just with a few changes here and there.

Japanese Foreign Minister, and renowned manga fan, Taro Aso yesterday announced the establishment of an "International Manga Award" to recognize foreign (non-Japanese) "manga" artists. "We want to make this award the 'Nobel Prize' of manga," said Aso, who also mentioned that one purpose of the award is to "increase the popularity of Japanese pop culture and subcultures."
Funding for the award will come from the Japan Foundation, Japan's endowment to support international relations.
Nominations for the award will come from the public and recommendations submitted by Japanese and international publishing companies. Famous manga authors Michiko Satonaka (Tenjou no Niji), Takashi Yanase (Anpan Man), Tetsuya Chiba (Ash**a no Joe) and a group of former chief editors from some of Japan's largest manga magazines will select a winner on June 22. The award will be presented at a ceremony in Tokyo on July 2.

Bleach was fantastic until the Bound saga, and while I hate the Vizard, now that its following the Manga again its one of the better series airing right now.

Haruhi is a very good series, but be warned they play the episodes in random order to heighten in insanity, so by the time you get half way through the series you have no idea what’s going on... much like Haruhi's life. Episode 1 for example is really episode 12.

Akira was fantastic but after reading about GitS (reviews etc) I was really dissapointed, after hearing all the hype about it and then watching it just didn't live up to my expectations, did anybody else feel this way?
Other way around for me
Akira was so hyped, but it wasn't my thing, so I hated it when I saw it.
On the other hand, GITS was one of the first anime I saw before I knew anything truly about anime, so it had nothing to live up to and I liked it. That said, I do feel the series is stronger. The problem with GITS is that its a movie dealing very much with the questions of 'what it means to be human' and integrates this into the story. Simply looking at GITS from this angle it is a fantastic show dealing with psychological concepts in the form of a sci-fi show. However, looking at GITS purely as a sci-fi show is not going to result in as enjoyable experience because it’s too psychological.
Essentially what I'm saying is GITS is a thinking-anime, and I don't think the hype emphasises on this enough, and attracts to many people who just want a sci-fi thriller and are left disappointed. That’s one of the reasons I prefer the series, because its has a mix: while the show's emphasis is on 'what it means to be human' with both the Laughing Man and the Individual Eleven terrorist groups fighting their own war against the loss of self to technology, it also has lots of elements of what people are looking for in a sci-fi i.e. terrorists and cops shooting at each other, mechs shooting at each other, stories of cops spying on criminals, stories of cops finding a body and having to piece together the clues to find the killer, someone framing a cop and the others having to get the truth to free him, cop going awol and the others having to get him back to their side before the special ops shoot him, stories of good cops vs bad cops etc etc
GITS like all anime therefore it subject to taste, in the same way as I know a number of people who hate Akira while the vast majority of people love it.
My advise to you is avoid the sequel as its even more psychological, and take a look at the series, failing that if you like sci-fi maybe take a look at Cowboy Bebop, its another sci-fi epic with a lot of hype which it lives up too, but its purely interested in action and plot rather than hidden meanings.

Yes I agree with that the series i by far better, I think it blends the action and the thinking side of things excellently.
Even though the anime that I have watched is pretty limited, the series of GitS still sticks in my mind. Like the whole laughing man thing , J.D Salinger and if AIs have souls/ghosts.
I've heard that Akira had to be seriously condensed to fit into a watchable movie, i've been trying to get the Manga for a comparison but really it is to expensive.
Cowboy Bebop, from the little that I have seen of it seems really good, but does the movie follow the series or is it stand alone.

Ghost in the Shell I agree with everything Talon has wrote.

If you have the chance, get the graphic novel for GitS. The reason that SAC is really good is that it's a lot more like the manga than the first movie. The movie's plot is pretty simplified, and the manga has Masamune's drawings which are always awesome. Finally, Kusanagi actually has a sense of humor in it. Be amazed.

I would also suggest:
Outlaw Star - I don't know why, but this one usually goes ignored when people talk about great anime. It's a bit more silly than things like GitS, but the animation is really great and so are the characters.
Crest of the Stars - I have no clue why I like this show. I've only seen about six episodes and love it for some reason. It's more space opera stuff, but it has a lot of political and military content. Also, I think Lafiel is cute.
