I'm currently doing a speed run of Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS, since I've neglected to watch it for the last 18 weeks. Anyone else watching this, or am I only one with a taste for sci-fi magic girl shows?

I liked sailor moon, especially Sailor Moon S
Card captors (the dubbed version of Card Captor Sakura) sucked, but I liked CCS itself.
I must admit I like the entire Magic Girl genre, including Magical Project S, Pretty Sammy, Magical Girl Lyrical Nonoha (all three series - although it is debate how much series 2 and 3 are just sci-fi with transforming girls as opposed to magic girl shows), Mai Hime and Mai Otome (which present a more mature version of the magic girl genre), Puni Puni Poemi, Pretty Cure, Pretty Cure Max, Pretty Cure Splash Star, and Yes! Pretty Cure etc
I guess they're just cute and harmless fun.

I think that's sometimes good. Otherwise why would you watch the anime if you knew what would happen?
Talon

Far more reasons to watch an anime than simply to find out the plot, I've watched tons of programs that I've seen already for the enjoyment of it. Just because you know how something ends doesn't mean you shouldn't watch it anymore.
Personally I prefer it when anime stay close to the manga, because thats what the fans want to see. Thats one of the reasons the original Negima fell apart, because it devated from the manga and messed up, the only good change the anime made was having Konoka and Setsuna share their first kiss - YES!

So that did not stop people from enjoying Death Note even if they already read the manga or any other anime that is faithful to its manga counterpart. Naruto, One Peice and Bleach are some of the mangas I read and still watch the anime.
The only reason I'm complaining is because the claymore anime will not get a second season and we will get a cheap, rushed, full of plot holes ending.

Oh I know, I totall agree. I just think it's a nice change to have some surprises. You can explore more of the story and cover "what-if's" from the manga. As long as it doesn't become a whole new story it's fine, but to follow closely to the manga but still spring up surprises is nice. The girl is Summer Glau - that scene is from Firefly's movie Serenity~

Some dubs are actually very good. I liked the Eva dub, and Full metal panic dub, Nior too, also tenchi, Kiddy Krade, Fruits Basket, Hellsing, Ghost in the shell. Hell, to be honest a lot of dubs are good. With me however ultimately my perseption comes down to which I see first. If I see the dub, unless its really bad, thats what I see the voices as, if I see the Sub, then I go with the Japanese and I cringe at the english version no matter how good.
Thats wierd you mentioning that, I just got two Melancoly models through the mail today from E-bay. I'm a little disapointed that despite my efforts to find two of similar size so they don't look weird together on my self, the Mikuru model is a full inch bigger than Haruhi despite her being shorter in the anime. Oh well, at least I have them

Yeah I agree with Eva,Noir,Hellsing and Ghost in the Shell (haven't seen the three - I didn't like the Fruits Basket manga my friend had) But most dubs seem to have poorly chosen acters.
Ebay~ I'll have to get the models from there, I looked on a japanese (in English) site but... I couldn't find the shipping price. Which would probably be expensive... But saying that, it cost me £10.01 to get a Full Metal alchemist pocket watch and pendent from Hong Kong.
The watch needs repairing though... The twisting thing that you use to correct the time fell out for no reason... But I guess I did just pay a penny for it.

Definately go for Ebay, those two models cost me around £16-£20 each. I bought others, smaller ones for only £5, or rather 1 pence + 4.99 p&p

I got tons of stuff on the way from where I went mental two weeks ago and blew £110 on figures - Uta Kata, Carcaptor Sakura, Ikkitousen, Eva all on their way + likely some stuff I forgot about also.

The entire current 27 episodes could have been only 12 episodes at most. Their dragging it out to make more money from more eps, but all they've done is make is comepletely boring

Yeah it is different its clear the show is ending so I'll accept it for what it is, the whole Raki thing sucks if they were going to change it they should of dropped Raki from the start or do something crazy with him besides just crying all the time.
From what I gather from the manga he is going to grow up and probably be a bad ass swordsman from hanging out with Isley and Priscilla for
seven years after the Pieta battle.
and we did not to see this from the manga
spoiler pic

edit
The final Claymore ES came out. ES 3 is about how Priscilla met Isley and how powerful Priscilla is you can get it at the link along with ES 1 and ES 2. ES 1 is about Teresa getting a black card, and ES 2 is a little spoiler if you did not read past the battle of Pieta cause it does start of with all the survivors on the first and last page. It does not name names except for
Miria but you can clearly see there faces. Its about
Miria finding a claymore of an old friend and how much of a cruel b**** #4 Ophelia is.

Shouldn't judge a series by its intro. If I didn't watch anything which had a rubbish intro I would have missed out on some of the greatest animes out there.
Anyway considering its one of the biggest animed in both the US and Japan right now, Lucky Star has to be doing something right.

I'd have to agree with you, but I wouldn't say it was crap. I actually like the new looks of the characters and everything, but you're right. It took them about 10 episodes to
defeat Sasori, and half the time I was muttering, "Okay, c'mon, let's get back to Team Gai..". Sheeeeesh.
And I feel severely tempted to whap Kishimoto-sama over the head for

Indeed, but lets remember they are taken from the Manga. I also love the theme tune Hero's Come back. But it lacks the charm of the original Naruto and its cause as we both say, the fight scenes drag on far to long.
