anyone watched jeramiah , mi2 or outbreak

ok jeramiah...world is infected by virus that effects people that are over the age of puberty...but in trying to find a cure they in affect make the big brother of the virus,,so all life on earth is up for the death penalty....

mi2.....in trying to find a cure for the FLU/INFLUENZA...they create a new deadly strane...ofcourse if you have the only cure for the new virus you will make millions of ££££/$$$$$.....

ofcourse that's as long as it doesn't do what it does in OUTBREAK, it mutates and is then the virus is unaffected by the antitude..so who's to blame

again it's all down to POWER AND WEALTH...the poor and the weak will be swept aside

I've heard ideas that AIDS was a man made virus to control population, but I've never considered SARS to be a manufactured disease.

It does seem to have come from nowhere, but then that's not unheard of. I would have thought that if anyone was going to go to the trouble of creating a virus, they would have made it a lot more infectious and deadly than SARS. Since most people who catch SARS recover, it's not quite what you'd expect a man-made disease to be like.

Assuming of course, that it was intended to be like it is now. huh.gif
Bizarro
im always suspicious of a disease that is extremely deadly to the elderly, but the young often recover from. it could be engineered to thin the population of over populated areas.

also, i have heard that the 'strain' that is in the US right now is much milder than the Asian 'strain'. that is bizarre since they would both supposedly be from the same one... right? i mean, im no scientist, but it doesn't make sense to me.

also, if SARS finds its way to North Korea and starts killing thousands, i would believe that we engineered it and set it loose. it might be too obvious if we put it there to begin with, but if it went through China we would be hard to suspect.

Pneumonia type diseases are generraly worse in more crowded conditions . I get this information from my pig farming days . ( yes I used to be a pig farmer rolleyes.gif ) However I have a theory that our now more common mutable diseases come from scientists messing around with genetics .
In N.Z. last year the greenies discovered that the government were producing G.M. corn . After it was made public the corn had to be disposed of and never thankfully made it to the shop shelves , but I would like to know where it went . Perhaps it was sold to Asia to feed the chickens there.
Remember a few years back when the Asians had to cull all of those birds because of the outbreak of a wierd flu like disease . I often wonder if it's all related some how. unsure.gif

hey DS your reply reminded me of an STARGATE epo i watched.....about thinning the population

cut the population by lowering the birthrate of humans....look at the stats...how many more woman are having stillbirths,,,or can't get pregnant...

makes you think mellow.gif

The number of people living with cancer in Lanarkshire is around 10,000 and there are over 3000 new cases of cancer diagnosed every year.

the above statment is from a non goverment body

the question is why are there so many cancer victims in lanarkshire and why are the goverment not looking into it

another goverment controlling the birth/death rate

anywhere else have the same problem..

WHAT IS GOING ON
Kismit
Forgive me if I'm wrong Bigsteff but wasn't Lanarkshire a coal minning or steel producing town back in the 50's . I'm not greatly familliar with Scotlands counties and could well be wrong , however this kind of production can leave nasty trace ellements and heavy metals in the soils and drinking water which cause cancer.
Bloated Corpse
Theres been many scifi shows that have used a man made(assuming the aliens as man) viruses as weapons to destroy each other. Star Trek, Sliders, Stargate SG-1, Outer Limits and Twilight zone are some that come to mind. The idea isn't new and the possibilty is viable considering the Bio-chemical research that has gone on during the cold war and after the end of it.

i remember a program that i saw on BBC called fields of gold. twas about a testing area for growing GM crops, but loads of people were getting ill, it turns out that the modifyed crops allowed this activist to put a strain of something in it.
bigsteff
your right kismit....lanarkshire was a coal and steel county....

Kismit
Yay !! Thanx Big Steff ........ I like being right biggrin.gif

I read somewhere that SARS was invented for control population. Also, AIDS too. No one has yet identified this mysterious HIV virus. They did computer drawings of it, but it has not been found. It's not really a worldwide epidemic is it? I mean diabetes kills 400,000 in the States alone every year. SARS is based on the common cold, but was engineered genetically. Population control is one of the reasons, but also the pharmaceutical companies are behind these new virus inventions. alien.gif
FreyKade
itsjustme, do you actually have proof of your assumptions. even though i do think that people have been making viruses for a while.
bigsteff
hate to point out but...itsjustme....but most of what you said...i read somewhere that etc etc etc,,,,,,,we know you read it somewhere ...HERE IS WHERE YOU READ IT,,,put 2 or 3 replies together and you come up with your reply apart from diabetes ....
Homer
If AIDS were manufactured to control the population, it failed miserably. Due to the ways one can get the virus, there is no way it can be used a means to control the population.

From what I understand, SARS is airborne, which makes it much worse.
Bizarro
yes it can, Homer. the fear of it keeps people from having sex as often. even if you have sex with AIDS and get someone pregnant(either person having AIDS), the chance of having a healthy baby is very small. the mother is ill and susceptible to all types of sickness, or the father infects the mother bringing her all types of illness. not very conducive to population growth.

QUOTE
The demographic effects of the HIV epidemic on Africa will be visible for generations to come. Until recently, the official projections at the United Nations indicated continuing population growth in all countries in Africa. Now this may be changing as the United Nations acknowledges that populations could decline in some countries. If the new U.N. biennial update of world population numbers and projections, due out before the end of this year, includes the full effect of the epidemic on fertility as well as on mortality, it will likely show future population declines for many African countries, including Botswana, Zimbabwe, South Africa, and Zambia.

With respect I feel you need to check your facts. I work as a medical professional and it is VERY common for diseases to be worse amongst the elderly and young. The young have not had time to be exposed to as many pathogens and thus are not as resistant, whereas the elderly tend to be more run down and have less reserves than young adults. When a disease comes along that targets the 18-40 age group and leaves others then I will suspect that it is man made.

My personal belief is that this SARS is nothing more or less than influenza but the World Health Organisation has had to come up with a new name for it because these days every time someone gets a cold they believe that they have the 'flu. For those who don't think 'flu can be this deadly, check out the 1919 pandemic.

Bizarro
actually its the opposite. the elderly have the best immunity to bugs but the weakest stamina to fight them. the young have the worst immunity but the strongest stamina to fight them. if a bug affects the (otherwise healthy)elderly in a really bad way, its because its a new strain of something that their body has no defenses against. those can be very deadly because elderly people have little ability to put up a fight with even a bad cold. sometimes children die also because the bug is too strong for them. mostly, children are spreaders of a bug due to their low immunity.

all im saying about being suspicious of a bug being engineered is the fact that it affects people with a lifetime's buildup of immunity so it must be a new strain. if you look at the mortality for SARS, you will see that mostly the old die from it, whereas young people recover. that's why im suspicious that it could have been engineered. the government isnt interested in killing fit, young people: they pay taxes, produce things, etc. older people just consume resources, so a bug that only kills them would be something that would be a cause for suspicion. at least imho.
Homer
DS,
You are mistaken. AIDS can't control the population. You only have to look at the facts. The nations who's births rates are declining are not declining due to this virus. Those nations that are the most affected by AIDS are still growing in population.

Bizarro
did you even read that article, Homer? it said pretty clearly that the populations of those countries are not increasing like they were before AIDS. death is a pretty damn effective reducer of population, dont ya think? original.gif
Homer
I read the article DS, and the verdict isn't out yet on those countries. But your quote
QUOTE
death is a pretty damn effective reducer of population, dont ya think?

suggests you fail to understand this indepth.

Death does not reduce population. Death is the absolute only thing guaranteed in life. Not even taxes are guaranteed, but death is. As long as the birth rate is higher than the death rate, death has no control of the population.
Bizarro
BLLLEEEEEEHHHHHHH!

no way im going philosophical with you, Homer. sometimes, i think you just like to argue over terms and not ideas. i don't follow what you are trying to say, call me literal, stupid or whatever you will, but i believe death is a reducer of population.

Homer
DS,
This isn't my area of expertise, and my first post on this thread confirms that, as well as it confirms I'm not posting just to argue.

I will concede death reduces the population, as that is really an obvious point anyway. Keep in mind death has been a part of everything since the beginning of time, yet humanity has continued to increase it's population almost non stop since the beginning of humanity.

But my original post was basically saying that SARS has the potential to be more of a problem then AIDS due to the manner in which it spreads.
FreyKade
i agree wits DS on this one. AIDS is limiting the number of people in poorer countries. where as in richer countries, people are able to use protection and not pass on AIDS and HIV to others, poeple in poorer countries do not.

I agree with this in that SARS has the potential to infect more people, but i don't think it would ever cause more deaths than AIDS. In a couple of years we will probably have either a vaccine or an effective treatment to use against SARS, and even now it is only killing up to 15% of those who contract it.

On the other hand, if SARS spread to a third world country, where quarantine was impossible, and millions contracted it - whether or not a vaccine or cure existed, it may indeed cause a huge loss of life. I don't think it would equal the problems caused by AIDS, but if out of control, it has the potential to be extremely devastating.
Homer
It's a fact that the manner in which SARS spreads is much more random and has the potential to affect a greater number of people in a shorter period of time than AIDS. Thankfully, it doesn't kill all those that have it, as SaRuMaN stated. In either case, if these are manufactured as a means to control the population, they have failed.

.

Perhaps I am in error, but I believe I recently read where
it is now KNOWN that SARS has transmutated....... for the Fourth
Time.

Toronto has been on, off, on ... the "avoid" list and to me, that is the most perplexing. Containment in Canada seemed to work wonders, originally.
Then? Poof! Out of nowhere, due to populations zooming around the Globe,
the next thing you know, more cases reported.

Dare I even mention "Monkey Pox" ?????????
crying.gif
Magikman
No Nancy, you needn't fear the 'monkeypox' outbreak, its no where near as contagious or life threatening. The cause is well known and its source was rapidly pinpointed, so containment should be effective. Plus the virus is specific and doesn't mutate.
Space Moose
Are SARS and HIV devices to control the population? At best we can conclude an answer of "perhaps" based on what has been presented here.

No one though has tackled the question of "Why does someone want to control the population?" Sadly, this question must be answered before the other question can be anywhere near answered properly.

I too have heard that AIDS is manmade but this is the first I have heard about SARS - all I know is I don't want it.....and I feel bad for those who have it

During an episode of Oprah or some such, many years ago a Teenager brought up the idea that "A.I.D.S." was just Media hype spun by pharmaceutical companies and parents . To try and stop Teenagers having sex and to boost the profit margins of the drug companies .
This quite honestly scarred me , what loose thinking . What ever happened to the adds and television documentaries on A.I.D.S . Our youth arn't educated about these dangers enough anymore .
As for wether or not S.A.R.S and A.I.D.S are man made . Who in there right mind would unleash a leathel strain of anything with out a cure for it ?

I really don't think they are man made at least not intentionally . huh.gif
