This has all gotta be just coincidence but I thought i'd share it with you all anyway, just for laffs.
I'm a big rugby fan and after watching the 6 Nations tournament recently I noticed something that I didn't before.
There seems to be a pattern with the teams that are taking part and their emblems.

You have France, which is supposedly where Mary Magdeline fled to.

You have England whose emblem is the rose, templar connections. also the place where the grail is supposedly hidden.

Wales whos emblem is the fleur de lys, an emblem also with templar connections.

Scotland whose emblem is the thistle, and after checking the net I came up with this:
Robert Bruce, King of Scotland under the title of Robert I., created on the 24th of June, 1314, after the Battle of Bannockburn,
the Order of St. Andrew of the Thistle, to which was afterward added that of Heredom, for the sake of the Scottish Masons,
who had made a part of the thirty thousand men who had fought with an hundred thousand English soldiers.
He reserved for himself and his successors the title of Grand Master and founded at Kilwinning the Grand Lodge of the
Royal Order of Heredom. The Manual of the Order of the Temple says that the Templars, at the instigation of Robert Bruce,
ranged themselves under the banners of this new Order, whose initiations were based on those of the Templars. For this
apostasy they were excommunicated by John Mark Larmenius, who is claimed to have been the legitimate successor of de
Molay.

I am yet to figure out the relevence of Ireland or their emblem, the shamrock. Not a lot of time to do that in work you see, LOL!!

But these FIVE nations (a number with templar connections) all play against Italy, home of the Vatican and the catholic church.

I figured all this out when drunk!!! Pretty good going eh? LOL!!!!

Are they using a three leaf shamrock ? if so you can always say that's the simple for the Trinity original.gif

Having said that , I would say its safe to say there is no coincedence that the symbols have a common trait . . However all these countries ALSO have historically christianity as a leading religion.

So the symbology may simply be a reflection of that shared history.

But what about the celts and the saxons? Were they not largely pagan? Large druid presence in Wales at the time. Lets not forget France at that time (Gaul). Wasn't Christianity spread the Romans invaded? I dont know I might be wrong there but would make a bit more sense.

Christianity may have come later . . but Rugby came even later still grin2.gif, so it would take symbols from the current culture, and christianity (like any other religion) does take some things from religions that precede it.

Jesus didnt play Rugby btw, he played Hockey . . see the Bible left out a few things . . he didnt walk on the water . . what he did was skate to centrre ice for a faceoff original.gif

He was a good player . . but he always let the disciples fight for him grin2.gif

Rugby Union cadetak not Rugby League. Both completely different games. Like comparing Baseball to Cricket. wink2.gif

Anyhoo, just thought it was a funny coincidence and was pretty proud of myself for coming up with all that after drinking far too much watching Wales play France last weekend laugh.gif
