If you want to see evil in its purest form, click on the following link. Be warned its disturbing and shocking to read. The fact that people like this actually exist and are allowed to have things like this online, is just plain scary.
One of the most sick things is not on there now, as it seems to have been taken down, but quite a few years a go a 15 year old gay Christian called Matthew shepherd was murdered because he was gay by Christian extremists and they did a web page called "The Matthew Shepherd memorial page" where they had a photos of him burning in hell and sounds of him screaming of what they said was a EVP of him in pain as he is tormented in hell. Its been removed now so you cant see it anymore, but I can a sure you it we so sick, it actually made me feel ashamed to be a human being. These people also went to the funeral of Matthew shepherd with protest banners saying things like "Matthew is now A BBQ for Satan" in front of his grieving family.
Here is one of the pages of the site.

Now while I don't agree with the lifestyle gay people live, I don't hate them... And God definatley doesn't hate them...
It does make me feel sick to think that people can do such terribel things to one another...
God save them...

This is saddens me greatly.
Has anyone been to this church it seems like their whole foundation is built on hate against Homosexuals. When it should be about love.
But I would not call it evil just wrong. Evil is to loosely used and not well defined.

My school, last year, did a play about Matthew, called The Laramie Project. The church came and protested the play, but it went on anyway (thankfully). Some people need a reality check and should stop being so preoccupied with other people's lives. What a horrible thing to do.

Never heard the story but it saddens me that people can use a god to justify actions of this kind. It seems like this hateful religious fervor is rising too in the States. People need to find out the difference between *spirituality* and religion. They are not compatible because you reach a point in spiritual growth where the religion stifles it with its laws and dogmas, hung around our head as a yoke on a beast of burden.

The church in the Midwest mentioned earlier in this topic... was it related to this link:
http://www.catholicparents.org/I started going on their discussion board when I read a story online that they were trying to get all gay Christian leaders kicked out of their congregations. They're fanatic! I just went on there to get them upset... and man, did they go off. It looks like the discussion boards are gone now... a handful of us kept stirring the mud.

I admire your style. People are going to be the way they are, the only thing these nuts are doing is using a god to sanction violence...and doing so thinking they're doing gods work. I realize not all christians feel that way but you would think the "proper" christian authorities on the subject would speak with more common sense.
I am not trying to single out just christians but the original post mentioned a sect of them...I do wonder, what do some of the other faiths say about it? Like muslims, hindus, ...etc.?

You know many people that are anti gay turn out to be in the closet homosexuals

and that is not just a myth either, it was proven in a survey studying the nature of prejudices. Many fundamentalists especially in the south of America are very prejudiced against minorities. I used to know someone that had Christian fundamentalists parents from Tennessee, and she said that they thought only whites went to heaven. I asked her if she had ever told her parents that Jesus was middle eastern, not white, and she said yes many times, and she was ignored and accused of being a Satanist, apparently there parents had pictures of Jesus all over there walls being of blonde haired and blue eyes. It just goes to show you that prejudices are based and rooted in ignorance. It would not surprise me if some extremists believe that Jesus was from Texas.

Even the closest apostles, James and John, asked Jesus if he wanted the cities to be burnt down for their sins, and Jesus rebuked them in return. It must feel bad to be Jesus with followers of wrong ideas.

Matthew was a teenager that was murdered, because he was gay by extremists. It also had all the bible quotes where it says that homosexuality is a "Sin" under him burning.

It wasn’t made by kids, it was made by a "church and ministry" in America, there was a movie made about this murder.
I saw a documentary on TV on it, about the problem of fundamentalism in America, and they covered this case. Even at Matthew’s funereal, religious extremists turned up with banners saying "Burn Matthew burn" and "Matthew is now the devils BBQ". None of them cared that Matthew’s family had to see this while they where burying there own son.

May the depraved find only torment, the persecutors find no redemption, and the true heretics, those who would do the things that has been done to Matthew Shepard, find pain in their life.
And may the lord forgive me for using a prayer in hatred, to curse those who have only false value as followers of his faith.

Wow, i am in shock that some one who claimed to be a christian would do that. personally i dont agree with the lifestyle of gays, but that is just my opinion. even though i dont agree with it doesnt by any means make it suitable to commit murder. why do christians seem to pick on the gays and lesbians? prostitution and drugs are also things that go against christian morals but that doesnt make it suitable to go around murdering them and tormenting their families. i was just wondering, were the people who did this punished in any way?

Well, if all they were doing was putting up offensive web sites, then it's protected free speech.
Protesting at someone's funeral ... that might legally constitute harassment. I'm not sure. The owner of the cemetary could sure kick you out, though.

I just couldn't believe the indecency of those "christians" when they protested at Matthews memoriam. Screw the idea that they were protesting because he was gay, did they ever stop and think about the poor family who had to sit and listen to it? There son had DIED! Been MURDERED!

Absolutely disgusting. No wonder some people don't exactly think of christians/catholics in a good light. Alot of them (and I'm not saying all of them, but most I have encountered) are completely close minded and its astounding. People wonder why respect is waning for the christian church, heres why! Stuff like this happens. God it's a shame how twisted christaianity has become. Was it not founded on love and free will? What happened to that?

"God it's a shame how twisted christaianity has become. Was it not founded on love and free will? What happened to that?"
It all stems back to when Christianity became a power in Euope. With the witch trials (Repeated in America some odd years later.), and The Crusades. The last true Christian majority died out before then. All thats left for the most part are the true heritics of the Church of God. No better than most Islamic terrorist groups in my opinion. I mean, they both belive in faith baised initiatives.
