The A To Z Of Mysteries, The Paranormal and the Occult

This will be a complete revision of the existing A To Z, with a huge selection of new articles, covering all aspects of the unexplained. The main index will also be updated to accomodate the new content. The A To Z will include a vast selection of definitions and information on hundreds of unexplained related topics. Links to images in the gallery will also be added to relevant articles.

Columnist Articles & Editorials

A new section to the site, this will give budding authors a chance to have their own articles effectively published on Unexplained Mysteries. These range from personal accounts of strange phenomena, analysees of photographs, opinions on certain subjects, reports from events and a whole lot more. A new forum section will be added to allow contributions and discussions. An area on the right hand side of the front page will be used to display links to the latest column articles.

I can't confirm any other specific additions at the moment, but there will be other new features on the way aswell.

As always, I'm open to new ideas and suggestions, so if you'd like to discuss the above mentioned updates, or have an idea of your own, feel free to let me know.

Wow. That sounds like a lot of work SaRuMaN. Don't know where you get the time or the energy.

It takes all my strength and resolve just to do one article a month for my webpage. And I even need vitamin supplements just to do that.

I would like to see an option to advance the page to the next group of New Posts at the bottom of each page instead of only at the top.

Hey Saruman, it is a testament to your abilities that this website is so great, my admiration to you mate. In any case I as a member would like to submit Fictional stories created by me relating to the paranormal, as well as reading other stories other members have devised, just as long as it is emphasised that these works are fictional. It could occupy just a minuscule area of the website, and members could comment on them. The only deal, at least if it were left to me, would be to have the moderators read the story and approve it just before placing it on the website as to avoid offensive matierial, etc. In any case let me know what you think of the idea!

Just to let you know, if you decide to take up the idea I wouldn't mind being the one reading the stories prior to approval, giving feedback to the author if anything needs ammending!

Wow Gareth, it looks like you are going to be very busy with new additions. I think your ideas are outstanding! If I knew anything about the paranormal(which I don't), or computer technical stuff(which I don't), I would ask for greater responsibilities and involvement on the forum to assist you.

Sure I'd be happy to host fictional articles as well as factual ones. The articles will likely be organised into different categories, so a fictional category would be easy enough to include.

Regarding the reading of submissions, I was thinking along the lines of a board in the forum for users to post their contributions, discuss changes etc and comment on completed articles, but thats yet to be confirmed. I'll post more about it once I have a better idea of how it will all work.

Here's an update on what's to come :

The format of each A To Z article will now also be updated to include links to several different things associated with each subject. Some of the existing articles will also be re-written and updated, as many of them were composed a few years back now.

Whereas at the moment the only additional information links associated with each article are links to other articles of related subjects and books, the updated articles will include links to the following ( where available ):

- Related gallery photographs
- news articles
- forum discussions

This will put all the available information on each subject right at your fingertips. This will be especially helpful to casual site visitors who likely won't even know that there is more related information available on the site.

It will still be a good while however before all the new changes are complete.
