My computer crashed, so obviously we took it to get fixed. Everything was wiped, including my iPod songs. I know that the next time I go to link up my iPod, the songs will be wiped.

Is there a way to get the songs from my iPod onto my computer, without downloading hundreds of songs all over again?

Many thanks, from Rachel thumbsup.gif

Alrighty then. First, download and install this program and make sure that iTunes is NOT installed on your computer. If you have iTunes and you plug the iPod into your computer, it will automatically sync with your library. And since you have no library, all the music on your iPod will be deleted. After you've downloaded and installed PodUtil, plug your iPod in your computer. The computer should only recognize the iPod as a portable hard drive. Open PodUtil, and it will display a list of all your playlists and music.

Select a directory to copy your music to by clicking "Choose" at the bottom of the PodUtil window.

After that, click "Copy" and wait for your music to be copied.

I thought about doing that, but I was so scared of loosing everything.

But don't you have to plug the iPod in in order to change the settings?
star_child
Yeah, I think so. I haven't tried your way yet, but I will soon.
Thanks again dude!

Oh my goodness, I think I am gonna die. I turned on my iPod, after trying to fix it, to find all the songs wiped. This is my worst nightmare. It has taken me 4 month to get all my songs. I really will die. Please help me! crying.gif

What was wrong with it and how did you try fixing it?
star_child
Well, all the songs have been wiped off it. I tried the thing you said to do, but I obviously did it wrong. iTunes wasn't even installed, but they still got wiped.

Well, there's nothing you can do hmm.gif Did you happen to make a list of all your songs? And did anything open when you plugged your iPod in?
star_child
No, and no. It took me about four months to get them all. Oh well, I'll just start again. I can never rely on computers.

Thanks for all your help, I think I will try and not fix things from now on.
