I dont believe theirs enough evidence at all to conclude that theirs a living dinosaur roaming around in Lake Ogopogo.

Wait til CR gets back online, hes the ogopogo master.
Nearly all of tee evidence is photographic. Many have been debunked, though.

Well the problem with that (and also is included in the introduction of every book involving cryptozoology) is that usually when the cases of a cryptid occur, you aren't carrying a camera. Thats why when many clear pictures are taken of Bigfoot or other random cryptids, many fight that it could be so clear. Because also when (if you are or happen to carry a camera on you) take a picture, you become nervous, scared, excited and the picture becomes all fuzzy due to the nerves rambling through your body.

Lake Okanagon is awsome, one of the most beutiful places in Canada. Same with the Alberta badlands.
But back on topic, when the natives described Ogopogo, they were terrified of it. But now most views of the Ogopogo are that it's friendly and playful, and some say they saw it at a baptism. Whats with the change?
Walken
Mar 8 2005, 09:18 PM
People fear nature and animals less? I don't know.
Dolphins were once feared as sea monsters, I guess.
It just doesn't seem REAL to have a huge agreesive creature roaming a lake without somebody getting bumped off, after all. People probably just think that it's more likley it keeps itself to itself. Sometimes just gets a little curiose.

Mar 8 2005, 09:22 PM
The natives also told their children not to go in the lake because they would would get eaten. I believe in Ogopogo, but could it be a possibility that it's just a story to keep people out of the lake?

Because probably originally, they would fear it coming to land but as they got more informed about what it could possibly be and got more educated, they realized that it wouldn't come to land. But now, its imitations are in parks, etc. I believe people try to make the best out of something that is unknown and may seem frightening.

Yes there is definately something in the lakes around the world... of all the Lochs in scotland, if you were going to start a rumour of a fake sighting hundreds of years ago, you would choose what appears to be the largest lake to give your story some credibility... like the one with the largest surface area, Loch Lomond but no it happens to be in the biggest body of fresh Water in the UK Loch Ness, a body of water that can hide the Worlds population 3 times over under the surface or hide all the cathedrals in europe below it's surface and then you compare Loch Ness to the bigger lakes around the world and in comparison it is a puddle, what do people keep sseeing in these Lakes and Lochs, whay are their different eyewitness accounts on the descritption???

A real deal problem of trying to find Nessie is:
- It is extremely deep.
- It is extremely cold.
- The water is very murky.
I came along this site:

Talking about shoreline... it is amazing how there are still not many places from the road that you can't see the loch, there are very few vantage points and places to stop, so you can understand why thre aren't as many sightings as they should be.

Uh-huh.
I've only visited the loch once, and found a (fake) gold chain. I threw it back because it was all rusty and gross.
I was 11. I remember all of the locals were really capitaliseing on it. There were models of sea monsters in ponds by hotels and evreything.
There were also some old folks who owned the inn we stayed at. One night we actually had dinner with them. They were really nice but hated all of the tourist attractions that were built up around the place. The wife of the owner said she saw the monster when she was very young.
