A dodos closet relative is a pigion, I don't see how that works.

Well their are the similiarties. Its puffed up structure of the breast I guess resembles the pigeon - but I could see since they are both birds and the pigeon just evolved out of the dodo bird.

Yeah. Even humans still share traits with monkeys and birds with dinosaurs.

True - but whats even cooler is every now and then, some infants are just born with actual tails, but usually either falls off or just basically stunts the growth and eventually go's away. But we have the thumb as so do the monkeys do.

Every one picks on the flightless birds. The dodo, moa, and the great auk where all flightless and look what happend to them. I'm surprised penguins, ostriches and emus are still alive.

Has anyone ever seen Master & Commander featuring Russel Crow? Theirs a scientist aboard and the scientist commands the master to visit the Galapagos Islands and the scientists sees the dodo bird and soon realizes that its flightless?

supositly Ostriches are endangered species, and some types of penguins, not sure about emu's tho, also it might depend on when those 3 species were all first discovered cause during the 20th century people were taking care of animals more then before sorta.. and im not really sure when antartica was first discovered cause that could have helped the penguins from sailors before

Yes, ostriches are certainly endangered - atleast in the places they were known most for their great ostriches. Emus also are endangered. I found out during research that the African Penguins are endangered and penguins in New Zealand are at most risk for being endangered. But, many people would hunt these animals for a living (like the case of the thylacine).

Well I guess ostriches are supposed to be quite agressive.

My brother, when he went to Australia, told me that he rode one and they are pretty vicious. If you touch them in a wrong way, they chase you and peck at you...I'd run if I saw one even though their awesome and beautiful creatures.
