Its odd that the "devil" only took two steps, or really it just stood in one place. I guess he just wasnt interested in the house. And it even more odd that the devil should have hoofs and not feet, since he is a biblical figure, and was an angel himself, and most angels are considered to look like us... Oh i dont know, does anyone else see my logic?

I get your vibe dude! I doubt the Devil could temp me,all I'de have to do is look at his trainers/Sneakers to suss out he was was Evil!!!!! Look at his feet!!!!!
I blame the Da Vinci Code!( although the devil is always portrayed as male?) I dunno?!

Maybe they have hoof feet grips in the future and there just time-travellers?
But why did the devil only take a couple of steps?
(maybe, thats all it takes?)

I saw this article a couple of months ago. I seriously think it is just a prank. If there is a devil and he/she decided to show himself, I seriously doubt it would have been there.

I agree, the 'typical' image of the devil as we know it comes from a vareity of different sources, mainly Pan...

The question is why did he claim that the air smelt like singed hair? Did the hoaxer accidentally singe his/her hair, while attempting to create these footprints? Anyone have any ideas as to what could've been used to make these?
I wonder if he felt the carpet. It should feel bumpy and smooth. If you ever felt melted bits of carpet.

The person who made the footprints could have heat up a piece of metal to make the prints. That would explain the singed hair smell.

The reason that the 'devil' is depicted as a cloven-footed, horned man is that Christianity used the image of the pagan figure 'Pan' to represent their 'Lucifer' in an attempt to eradicate the pagan cultures & faith systems that threatened the church. Similarly, they built their churches on the sites of older pagan sites to prevent the pagans from worshiping there.
The devil or Satan was never originally a cloven-footed entity at all.
That said, I think that whatever entities appear or visit humans on occasion can be seen depending on what the belief system is for that individual. Ergo, if someone thinks that angels are winged glowing silver-haired tall figures, then they may interpret an entity as such a figure, and vice versa, if they are expecting a 'traditional' demonic figure like 'Pan', then they see something akin to his characteristics.
In this instance, it is unclear if the footprints or marks are fake or something else entirely. My question is this: what purpose would a 'demon' or entity have in standing in a doorway facing the wall, putting the light on, and emitting a singed-hair smell for the benefit of a guy doing an assignment?

Isn’t the "devil" supposed to be deceptive, charming, suave, and not an ugly goat man with flaming hooves?
Of course I could be wrong
absinthegreen329

I think that everyone has a different perception of the devil. Some see him/her as ugly, some see him/her as gorgeous and suave. It all depends on who you are.

I see what you mean Castor, but we seem to forget that the devil can take any size and form like he was a snake in the beginning remember Genesis, Adam and Eve, the tree of knowledge and the temptation.

They seem kind of fake to me.
However, if they were by any chance real, what do you think he was doing there?
What do you think would have happened if the man decided to walk down the hall and turn the light on while the devil, or this thing, was still there?
Anyway, it still seems like a hoax to me. Bored employees...it sounds like something I'd do. But I wouldn't post it on the internet. I'd use it to scare the crap out of a co-worker.
In a friendly way, of course.

Definitely a hoax..Not only; as has been mentioned before; are the "Toes" pointing almost directly at each other, but the carpet doesn't even look singed or burned..To me those clearly look like water stains.
I'm betting this guy at the office said to himself "Hey, those stains look like hoofprints! I'll take a picture and send it to those loons at coast-to-coast with some crackpot story!!"

So what if someone said that they saw the devil's footprints. And anyway, no one knows for sure what the devil's footprints look like anyways. If they claim that they do, then it's probably just a lie. If they don't have scientific proof, then you should definently believe it's a lie.
If no one knows what the devil looks like in person or spirit or whatever, then how would you know what his footprints look like? The devil could look like this for all we know...

Of course the devil is real...no one here has denied that yet, I don't think. But the question is how the prints got there. The best answer (i think) is that it was just some prank to spook someone or get them to believe that the devil is out there haunting that person.

Ya, it's sad and dumb how some people want to worship something so badly, they will take something as dumb as a hot pocket with the devil's face on it and use it for worship. But of course, I don't know for sure that that person used it for worship. But what else would he use it for? Maybe to put it on display?

I think it makes more sense that it would be used for worship. But why pay 100 buckaroos for a picture of the devil's head? From what I've heard, I think less that a penny is what the devil's "portrait" is worth.
Does anyone want to buy this picture of the devil? It's an authentic picture I found on a garbage can outside my house...
