Know what would be cool....?
They have tons of T.V. shows about Ghosts and UFO's. I wonder why no one has ever thought up of Crypto's. It would be cool to have a show on Urban Crypto's, National and anything related to it on a T.V. program. They could discuss all the Crypto's discovered or yet to be found. There are so many to discuss I bet it could be a hit on Sci-Fi Network.
It would be cool...
Check out my column that made it's debut this week called 'My Two Sense'.

i dont know when it comes on, but Outdoor Life Network has such a show. So far all i've seen them do is things like Bigfoot and Skunk Ape, and it doesnt have a set time, but if they ever set its schedule and do something besides unidentified primates (same cryptid over and over gets boring), they might have something there.

Discovery channel has aired shows about Bigfoot, so has A&E. There are plenty of Cryptozoological shows out there, but they usually take a back seat to the "more popular" phenomenon of ghosts and UFO's.

Give me an unidentified monster any day over blinkly lights in the skies...Proof Positive woulda done better if they didnt try to cram three subjects into one episode.

Yeah. Some of the shows on discovery have had a few minutes on Bigfoot,a few on Nessie and a few on something else. I'd much rather see a full episode devoted to something like that.
As for Crypto vs. UFO/ Ghosts, either or, and I'm happy

Proof Positive was a good show for something just starting out. Unfortunately, shows arent given time to get better.
It would tell you about one phenomena, el chupa, lizardman, ghosts, and so forth, talk to a few witnesses, tell you how they're going to determine if it's true or not, then move on to the next segment. at the end, they'd more or less repeat everything they said in the begining, but with how the results turned out.
The results werent always that great. A polygraph does nothing but tell if the person beleives they are telling the truth or not. They might have beleive they saw El Chupa, but all they saw was a dog, yet it came out that they "did" see it, because they werent lying.
and technically, they werent.

Yeah,I know what you mean. A lie detector would be a stupid way to figure out if something exisits. Unless ofcourse you tie down a bigfoot and ask him if he really is Bigfoot

with Lizardman, they called in an animal expert to look at prints. he had three toes, but all of his weight was distributed evenly over the foot. Dinosaurs with three toes basically walked on the toes, so they decided it was proof negative.
I wasnt sure i liked that. Based on our understanding of animals, we can guess as to what effects what and contributes to what, but we dont have any large animals on Earth that suck blood as the main part of its diet. That doesnt mean they arent theoretically possible.
In other words, it COULD have walked on its feet instead of its toes, though we assumed it "cant" and therefore MUST be a hoax.

I'd watch it

Yeah, Discovery Channel has covered all those major topics such as Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster, but Cryptozoology and the study of hidden and unknown animals aren't really discussed as a group.

Very true. As stated in the first post, much more time is being devoted to ghosts and UFOs

Since its more of a popular study and interest. But people don't really know how interesting cryptozoology could be!
TooFarGone
Mar 8 2005, 11:50 PM
Exactly, which is why more time should be devoted to it

one show i watched said you can't get a degree in cryptozoology.
WHAT IS PALEONTOLOGY BUT GLORIFIED CRYPTOZOOLOGY OF DEAD ANIMALS??
Just because we havent SEEN unknown animals doesnt mean they dont exist. Yet cryptozoology is a "pastime" and not a real carreer.
Mysteryman
Mar 8 2005, 11:55 PM
No? Cryptozoology is a career? The study of hidden animals and the unknown animals that are not yet to be classified as animals in the animal kingdom? I don't understand why they said that...Strange. I have watched many, many videos before as I'm sure most of you had to also. When people are specifically talking about something, you see their profession under their name on the television. I have seen many job occupations titled "Cryptozoologist".

Sarcasm. Is like, tell someone you're a profesional ghost hunter. They go, "Oh, okay...seen casper lately?" and dont really take you seriously, though those in your feild and interested in it do.
You cant earn a degree in cryptozoology from what i understand...BUT I DEMAND THEY CHANGE THAT!
