AHOOL- (JAVA - VIETNAM)
Considered by many cryptozoologists to be a large, heretofore unidentified species of bat, there are some investigators who feel that these creatures may represent the world's only winged primate.

I had an experience with one once (no I wasn't drunk or stoned

)
I gave a detailed story on it a few months ago...

Yeah, I posted it up before - but otherwise, sounds just like a genetically altered large bat.

That would be really cool. I love bats, they are just so cool. But then again, I love just about anything that is nocturnal.

Sounds cool, and probably not impossible too! A large previously un-known species of bat could easily have only recently been found!

I like bats. They were flying around our caravan in France once.

Yeah, it is definitley possible for it to exist - either a large genetically mutated bat or just a new species...It is most identified as a bat so the chances (for me) are high.
In my camp, located upstate New York, their are always bats clinging to wooden rafts. When its dark, you can always see them fly next to the moonlight - their pretty cool and interesting creatures.

in 1925 Dr. Ernest Bartels who discovered many new bird species in Java was exploring a waterfall on the slopes of the Selek mountains when a gaint unknown bat flew over his head. name after its call, a long ahOOOOooool, this as yet uncatalouged bat was, according to cryptozoologis Ivan T. Sanderson, still reported from time to time. Bartels account was passed on to Sanderson by Heuvelmans. in an artical about the Ahool written in 1966, they noted sightings of the ahool were reported throughtout western Java. it lookes like a huge bat in flight, much larger than any know flying fox, but it is a fish-eater. it allegedly uses its enormous claws, situatedat the tops of the forearms, which are part of the wings, to capture large fish from the rivers it lives near. an ahool is said to be the size of a one year old child, dark gray in color with a head like a macaue or gibbon. it has been associated with the kongamato and a bat of the species Microchiroptera.
