Belly button doesn't hurt too bad. It's more a feeling of something there that shouldnt be there, but that only lasts for an hour or so until u get used to it.

I'm very squeamish at the sight of my own blood - it makes me faint And I have had my belly button done twice. so it cant be all that bad, now can it?!

I wouldnt be without my belly bar now. Same goes with all piercings and like Dis said, as long as u take proper cleaning care of them, they heal up good.

I had an infection in my belly piercing about 6 months ago, and found the best thing to clean it with was warm salty water.... never had any bother since.

But always check with the person who pierced u bit first if u have any trouble with it.

You can probably bend it yourself with a pair of plyers, but I'd personally ask a piercer to do it, if they're willing.

Regarding the belly button, I found it to be a little tricky. It's one of the easiest to get infected, since a lot of dirt and bacteria collects around that area. And when I had it, the piercing would always rub up against my jeans which would irritate it a lot. I've heard a lot of people complain about infections.

i hear u have to clean any piercings u have once a while to avoid infection. is this true?

Of course!! You need to clean it to start with at least twice a day.
Common sense, if you don't clean a wound, it's going to get infected. That goes for ALL wounds.

It would definitely be a good idea! These girls I know (and hate) all swop their earings to half the people in the bloody country, it makes me sick to think about it.

When you first get it, can be anywhere from twice to ten times a day. After a few months you generally don't have to clean it anymore (other than paying special attention to it in the shower or washing your face).
