Polls like this have been done before, but no harm, I guess.
I'm with yes.

Yeah, we probably have, but it seems like people on this forum are going away. I guess I just wanted to start a poll myself!

And I too, am with yes!

I said not sure, need more proof -
I'm not going to repeat why, said it a couple hundred times in the other Loch Ness Monster threads.

J, Jump onto one of the threads we are discussing at the moment, then we don't have to repeat what we have written already over the past few days.

Okay, sorry! I'me new to this whole forums thing, so I'm not that sure about what is talked about more often.

PS... I am with Yes also, although I think the word monster is a little to aggressive to describe what people have seen.

Okay! Thanks! The only thing I'm really having trouble with, (I get most other things because I've been on sites with forums before) is how to add pictures to your post, but that's not really about the Loch Ness Monster, so I'll ask that another time!

Here, let me copy and paste what I just wrote to jess:
No problem.
Ok - let me explain this.
All the way on the bottom of the screen, their is:
Fast reply: Fast reply is only for just typing and links (no pictures, no attached files).
Add Reply: If you want to add pictures and attached files, click add reply. Then if you want to add a picture, you copy the link to the picture and then, click image - a popup appears and all you do is paste and enter - it'll say IMG[ ...] IMG (something like that).
If you want to take a quote from someone, you press quote on the bottom of the persons message and go to add reply and you type under their quote.
Tell me when you do it and if you get it and I'll help you around.

The moderators, if they feel the forums are getting either too much off topic, or too infamatory, etc. So try to keep the threads on topic.

At this point, Im going with nope. I just dont think there is enough food in that loch to sustain a creature of that size.
Mysteryman
Mar 12 2005, 10:00 PM
But we can't be certain of what it eats. If it lives off algae, bacteria, fish waste - the lake would have a huge surplus for it! And if it did, it would supply a great lifespan which can continue its species form.

The Loch is full of fish.. in fact if a body of water that size had no fish in it, then that would really be a mystery.

Mar 12 2005, 11:06 PM
Also, the loch is huge! So, yeah - it could hold a hell lot of fish and a lot of plesiosaurus's!

I keep very skeptic about this one.
But I lean more towards the believer side of it being real. I have seen some discovery documentaries about this.
They used sonar or something like that, so they found 3 unidentified objects who were like 6m in lenght. And such unexplainable things.
Walken
Mar 15 2005, 06:34 PM
Yes, and when they came back later they couldn't find them.
XSAS
Mar 15 2005, 09:38 PM
Yes I think this was operation deepscan and even taking into consideration of the underwater currents, these sonar readings were moving against the flow of the current as they also picked up what they believed to be underawater logs and other debris moving in the opposite direction.

Mar 15 2005, 10:23 PM
That was one of the things that really stengthaned the myth.
XSAS
Mar 15 2005, 11:21 PM
W... I fully agree with you. I know they consider the operation deepscan generally as not being a sucessfull one but there were questions that could not be answered after it was complete. There is without question something there or something that passes through the Loch... what we don't yet know is what it is????

The best explanation that I have for it (assuming that there is something abnormal in the loch) is that it is a relative of the Plesiosaur mentioned millions of times on the subject. The dinosaur itself obviously could not have survived as we know it today. What's more likely is that the monster is a descendant of the Plesiosaur or perhaps a totally different animal with a similar body shape. After watching dozens of documentaries on the topic, it does make the current evidence quite incredible. Humps are easily explained as boat wake that continues across the lake even with the absence of a boat. Lake George in upstate New York is like this, and Lake Champlain has "Champ", it's version of Nessie. Lake George and Lake Champlain are similar in shape, but Lake George is quite smaller. In Lake George's case, you frequently see waves rolling along in a group of 3 or 4 humps as seen from the side. But this isn't the only time Nessie was reportedly seen, so it can't be as simple as that. The idea of a Sturgeon makes sense, but there are so many possibilites and only one right answer.. which could it be?
