ok my wife has a friend at work who just lost her 39 yr old physically fit husband to "walking pnumonia" caused by the flu-which happens to be the second "reported" death of a perfectly healthy individual loosing a walking pnuemonia battle in my area within the last week-it seems the death toll is at alarming numbers when you add in the elderly and very young to the figures-is this happening elsewhere?what is the typical death percentage of "walking pnuemonia" caused by flu?

I actually almost died from walking pnuemonia about 4 years ago. It sucked. It was partially my fault. I like most guys waited until it was extremely bad, about 2 weeks after I got it. Now if I feel it my lungs, I am head to the doc. I always get a flu shot now, except this year. I also get a pnuemonia shot once every few years. I have asthma so colds and flu are worse for me.

sorry to hear that im glad your ok-i wonder if he was asthmatic?she told my wife that he had been feeling sick for about a week and had just complained about a pain that went from the side of his neck down to his shoulder-she told him to go to the doc but he didnt want to so she left to get him some chicken soup-she came home to find him asleep so she covered him and when she woke up the next morning he hadnt moved and that was it-they said it was respitory failure--spooky

My friend has walking pneumonia, she is in pretty bad shape. I don't know what the number of deaths is, but I know a lot of people are sick here. I had the flu for a couple of weeks, it was bad, being as I am diabetic. I really wish I had gotten that flu shot, but they were always out everywhere that I went.
